Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Alleluia, Jesus is truly risen! With joyful praise we
greet the Lord Jesus on Easter Sunday! As we
celebrate this solemn feast of Easter, our minds
and hearts focus on Jesus. “Do not be amazed.
You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has
been raised; He is not here. Behold the place
where they laid him. But go and tell his disciples and Peter: “He
is going before you to Galilee…” (Mk. 16:6-7). We too, can
meet the same Jesus risen from the dead and now present to
us in His Word and in the Holy Eucharist. Jesus says to each
one of us, “Do not be afraid, I am here with you!”

We need not be afraid because the Risen Lord has overcome
all those things which can permanently destroy us, like sin and
eternal death. Though we must pass through suffering and human death, we do not do that alone. We have Jesus’ promise
that He will go before us and will be with us every step of the
way.
Jesus changed his disciples’ discouragement to hope; their
weaknesses, fear and sadness to strength, inner peace and joy.
Jesus, risen from the dead made all the difference in their lives!
On this holy feast of Easter, Jesus, our risen Savior can make
all the difference in our lives too, if we let ourselves be touched
by his Risen Presence in the sacred liturgy and in daily prayer. If
we cling to His promise every day: “Do not be afraid! I remain
with you always;” He will make a difference in our lives too!
To those of you who only come occasionally to worship with us,
we extend a word of welcome. We invite you to return often and
become part of our parish family of faith. God is working in our
midst. Come and be part of what He is doing here at St. Mary of
Czestochowa.
May the Risen Lord Jesus bless each of you with His strengthening peace! Your parish priests will remember each of you
during the Masses celebrated on Easter Sunday and throughout
the Easter Season!

PARISH FUNDRAISER
Our parish is sponsoring a POLKA MASS with
DENNIS MOTYKA and THE GOOD TIMES
BAND on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the 9:00AM
Mass. EVERYONE IS INVITED TO ATTEND
THE MASS; HOWEVER THERE WILL BE A
LUNCH (BY TICKET ONLY) IN MAKUCH
HALL AFTER THE MASS. The cost of the lunch ticket is $15.00
for adults and $9.00 for children under 12yrs. of age. Tickets are
available after all weekend Masses until the weekend of April
14/15. Tickets will also be available at the rectory during office
hours or by calling Terry Zaworski (708) 656-0425 or
Mary Warchol (708) 652-4548. Plan to purchase your tickets early
if you would like to participate in the lunch.
Prizes are needed for the liquor basket as well as for the raffle.
Donations of prizes can be dropped off at the rectory office or in
the sacristy of the church after all Masses. Parishioners that are
crafters (afghans, center pieces, kitchen items, etc.) are invited to
donate an item for the raffle.
A free door prize, a liquor basket raffle, a raffle for prizes and a
Split the Pot raffle will take place during the lunch. Music, dancing
and fun for all is promised to all who attend!
WHAT IS A POLKA MASS? It is a Mass celebrated in the English
language; however, the hymns are sung to the tune of Polka Music. A Polka Band leads the singing. Special booklets have been
prepared so that the congregation can join in singing during the
Mass.
Morton College is presenting their play for Seniors on the same
day as our Polka Mass. Seniors...please know that you can attend the play on Friday evening at 7PM (per Sue Banks; however,
you must register) instead of on Sunday afternoon. All you need
do is tell the ticket distributor to bill Sue Banks. Also, you may
wish to know that you will be finished with the lunch in time on
Sunday so that you can still attend the play in the afternoon if you
so wish.
Religious Education
The next Religion Education session (CCD) will
be held on Saturday April 14,2007 from 8am to
10am.
Communal Anointing of the Sick
Next Saturday, April 14th a communal anointing of the sick
will take place at the 5PM Mass.
What is the Anointing of the sick?
The letter of St. James tells us: “Is anyone among you sick?
He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they
should pray over him and anoint (him) with oil in the name of
the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person,
and the Lord will raise him up,. If he has committed any
sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:14-15)
In the days between the Council of Trent in the 16th century
and Vatican II, the nature of the sacrament was a last
anointing to prepare a person for death.
But Vatican II changed that. Vatican II actually reverted to
the more ancient practice of anointing the sick—not just the
terminally ill or dying person-which may restore a person to
health, aid in their healing and recuperation or calm their
mind and spirit if they are indeed preparing for death. So the
sacrament today is broader than just a last anointing.

Who Should Be Anointed?
Any person who is seriously ill, in danger of death, weakened due
to old age (even if no serious illness is present), or preparing for
serious surgery due to illness should be anointed. One should not
necessarily wait until they are on their deathbed to receive this
sacrament.
The dead are not anointed, as no sacrament is effective for those
who are not living. For the dead, we say prayers for the dead and
trust their souls to the mercy of God. Those who are unconscious, however, may be anointed if we can be reasonably certain that they would have wanted to be anointed had they been
conscious.
What Is Anointing Like?
The priest lays hands on the sick person in silence. The priest
prays over the sick person the faith of the Church, and then
anoints him with oil on the forehead and the hands while saying:
Through the holy anointing may the Lord in his love and mercy
help you with the grace of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord who frees
you from sin save you and raise you up.”
The oil that the priest uses is olive oil, blessed by the diocesan
bishop at the annual Chrism Mass, which takes on Holy Thursday
in most dioceses.
Together, let us faithfully reach out to God and the Church in time
of need, and comfort one another in suffering.

Resurrection of the Lord
John 20:1-9
Today is the Sunday of all Sundays., the great
celebration of the resurrection of Jesus! On this
day, we join with the disciples as they race to the
tomb and discover it empty. We don’t have to
linger on the outside with our doubts and fears. We can accompany the beloved disciple who went into the tomb and “saw and
believed.” Then with Mary Magdalene, we can embrace Jesus as
our risen Lord.
During Lent, we searched our hearts to find the stones that block
us from the resurrection life. Now Jesus has rolled back these
stones so that we can enter into a life of freedom and hope and joy.
Let this be a day of celebration! Jesus has triumphed over every
obstacle. He has obtained everything we need. We can rest in his
arms, knowing that we are secure.
Now is the time to raise your head and “set your minds on things
that are above.” (Colossians 3:2) Just as John looked inside the
empty tomb and believed, we believe that the same Jesus who
died and was thought to be gone forever is now alive. Our faith in
his resurrection means we can put our trust in his entire life. All his
words are true. All his promises—and all our hopes and dreams—
will be fulfilled. As the light of the resurrection dawns with increasing brilliance, let your Easter alleluia burst forth!
“What a beautiful life you have given me, Lord Jesus! Let me sing
the glorious hope that comes from your resurrection. With each
day—but especially today—make my joy a gift to you, a grateful
acknowledgement of the love you have for me.”

Domingo de Pascua - La Resurrección del Señor
El primer día después del sábado, estando todavía
oscuro, fue María Magdalena al sepulcro y vio removida la piedra que lo cerraba. Echó a correr, llegó a la casa donde estaban Simón Pedro y el otro
discípulo, a quien Jesús amaba, y les dijo: "Se han
llevado del sepulcro al Señor y no sabemos dónde
lo habrán puesto." Salieron Pedro y el otro discípulo camino del sepulcro. Los dos iban corriendo juntos, pero el otro discípulo corrió más aprisa que Pedro y llegó primero al sepulcro, e inclinándose, miró
los lienzos puestos en el suelo, pero no entró. En
eso llegó también Simón Pedro, que lo venía siguiendo, y entró en el sepulcro. Contempló los lienzos puestos en el suelo y el sudario, que había estado sobre la cabeza de Jesús, puesto no con los
lienzos en el suelo, sino doblado en sitio aparte.
Entonces entró también el otro discípulo, el qué
había llegado primero al sepulcro, y vio y creyó,
porque hasta entonces no habían entendido las
Escrituras, según las cuales Jesús debía resucitar
de entre los muertos.

La Celebración comunitaria
de la Unción de los Enfermos.
El sábado 14 de abril, en las vísperas de Domingo de la Divina
Misericordia, en nuestra parroquia
habrá la celebración comunitaria
de la Unción de los Enfermos durante la Masa a horas 5PM. Con
este sacramento de la Unción de los Enfermos,
el enfermo recibirá fuerza de Dios en su lucha
contra enfermedad. Por favor informe a sus enfermos familiares o sus amigos para que puedan
participar en esta celebración. También le pedimos para que faciliten la llegada de los enfermos
a nuestra iglesia parroquial.
Invitamos a participar en la Fiesta
de la Divina Misericordia el día 15
de Abril. La central celebración
empezará a horas 3 de la tarde
con la Coronilla a la Divina Misericordia, después vamos a tener la
procesión alrededor de nuestra
cuadra y vamos a celebrar la Misa. Por favor vengan en los trajes típicos.

Hermanas y Hermanos,
¡Aleluya, Cristo ha resucitado! Alegres agradecemos al
Señor Jesús en este Domingo de Pascua por su victoria.
Hoy Jesús nos dice: «No se
asusten. Si ustedes buscan a
Jesús Nazareno, el crucificado, no está aquí, ha resucitado; pero éste es el lugar donde lo pusieron. Ahora vayan
a decir a los discípulos, y en
especial a Pedro, que él se les adelanta camino
de Galilea. Allí lo verán tal como él les dijo.» (Mk.
16:6-7) Nosotros también podemos encontrar a
Jesús Resucitado presente en su Palabra y en la
Eucaristía. Jesús nos dice a cada uno de nosotros; “¡No tengas miedo, yo estoy contigo!”
No debemos tener miedo porque el Señor Resucitado ha vencido todo lo que nos destruía, sobre
todo el pecado y la muerte eterna. Aunque tenemos que pasar por el sufrimiento y la muerte, no
lo hacemos solos. Tenemos la promesa de Jesús que Él irá adelante de nosotros y estará con
nosotros en cada paso de la vida.
Jesús cambió el desánimo de sus discípulos en
la esperanza; sus debilidades, miedos, y tristezas
en la fuerza, la paz interior y la alegría. Jesús,
resucitado cambió totalmente sus vidas.
En este Santo día de Pascua, Jesús, nuestro Salvador Resucitado puede cambiar también nuestra
vida, si nos dejamos a ser tocados por su Presencia en la liturgia sagrada y en la oración diaria. Si aguardaremos cada día su promesa: “¡No
tengas miedo! Yo siempre estaré contigo” El
hará un cambio radical en nuestras vidas.
Que Dios les bendiga a cada uno de Uds. En el
Domingo de Pascua todas las intenciones de las
Misas serán celebradas por Ustedes y sus familias.

Ogłoszenia Parafialne
Niedziela Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego
W pierwszy dzień tygodnia poszły skoro świt do grobu, niosąc przygotowane wonności. Kamień od grobu
zastały odsunięty. A skoro weszły, nie znalazły ciała
Pana Jezusa. Gdy wobec tego były bezradne, nagle
stanęło przed nimi dwóch mężczyzn w lśniących szatach. Przestraszone, pochyliły twarze ku ziemi, lecz
tamci rzekli do nich: «Dlaczego szukacie żyjącego
wśród umarłych? Nie ma Go tutaj; zmartwychwstał.
Przypomnijcie sobie, jak wam mówił, będąc jeszcze w
Galilei: "Syn Człowieczy musi być wydany w ręce
grzeszników i ukrzyżowany, lecz trzeciego dnia zmartwychwstanie"». Wtedy przypomniały sobie Jego słowa i wróciły od grobu, oznajmiły to wszystko Jedenastu i wszystkim pozostałym. A były to: Maria Magdalena, Joanna i Maria, matka Jakuba; i inne z nimi opowiadały to Apostołom. Lecz słowa te wydały im się
czczą gadaniną i nie dali im wiary. Jednakże Piotr wybrał się i pobiegł do grobu; schyliwszy się, ujrzał same
tylko płótna. I wrócił do siebie, dziwiąc się temu, co się
stało.

Zapraszamy na Uroczystości Bożego Miłosierdzia w naszej parafii,
które się odbędą dnia 15 kwietnia.
Centralna uroczystość rozpocznie
się o godzinie 3:00 PM Koronką
do Bożego Miłosierdzia, po której
odbędzie się procesja wokół naszego bloku a potem będzie oprawiona Msza św. Prosimy o przybycie na tę uroczystość w strojach regionalnych.
Serdecznie dziękujemy za ubranie Palmy która upiększyła nasz kościół w Wielkim Tygodniu. Szczególne
podziękowania dla: Alicja Krzak, Anny Zalinska, Stefania Piejko, Andrzeja Gancarczyk, Wojciecha Bobak,

Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie!
Alleluja, Jezus prawdziwie zmartwychwstał. Przepełnieni radością składamy chwałę Jezusowi Chrystusowi w Niedzielę Wielkanocną. Dziś słyszymy: „Nie
bójcie się! Szukacie Jezusa z Nazaretu, ukrzyżowanego; powstał, nie ma Go tu. Lecz idźcie i powiedzcie
Jego uczniom i Piotrowi: Idzie przed wami do Galilei, tam Go ujrzycie…” (Mk 16, 6-7).
My również możemy spotkać tego samego Jezusa,
który powstał z martwych a teraz jest z nami w słowie Bożym i Eucharystii. Jezus mówi do każdego z
nas, „Nie bój się Ja dzisiaj jestem z Tobą!”
Nie musimy się lękać, ponieważ Zmartwychwstały
Pan zwyciężył grzech i śmierć, a więc to, co niszczy
nasze życie. I chociaż musimy przejść przez cierpienie i śmierć, nie czynimy tego sami. Mamy obietnice
Jezusa, że On pójdzie przed nami i z nami drogą naszego życia.
Strach, który przeżywali uczniowie, Jezus zmienił w
nadzieję, ich słabości i smutek w siłę, pokój i radość.
Jezus Zmartwychwstały zmienił całe ich życie.
Dziś w Niedzielę Wielkanocną, ten sam Jezus obecny
w liturgii i modlitwie może zmienić także Twoje życie, jeśli pozwolisz, aby Jego Obecność dotknęła Ciebie. Jeśli będziesz się trzymał tej obietnicy każdego
dnia, „Nie bój się, Ja jestem z tobą zawsze”, On tego
dokona.
Niech Zmartwychwstały Pan Jezus błogosławi Ciebie
i umacnia w pokoju. Jako księża, którzy posługują w
tej parafii, każdego z was będziemy polecać w Mszy
świętej wielkanocnej oraz przez cały okres wielkanocny.

Zapraszamy na Mszę św. dnia 22 kwietnia
o godzinie 9:00 AM. Msza będzie odprawiana w języku angielskim. Podczas Mszy
będzie grał zespół „The Good Times
Band” z Dennis Motyka, a po Mszy będzie obiad w Sali Makucha. Cena biletu wynosi $9:00 dla dzieci
do 12 lat i $15.00 dla dorosłych. Bilety można nabyć po Mszy
świętej.
Prasa Katolicka
Tak jak w każdą niedzielę tak również i dzisiaj wychodząc z
kościoła można nabyć nowy numer Tygodnika Katolickiego
„Niedziela”. Znajdziemy tam bardzo ciekawe artykuły na
temat życia kościoła w Polsce także naszej Archidiecezji.
Czytając ten tygodnik a także inne publikacje np. „Różaniec”,
„Anioł stróż”, „Rodzina Radia Maryja” pogłębiamy naszą
wiarę oraz miłość do Boga i Kościoła.
Jest także do wzięcia za darmo gazeta „Katolik” wydawana przez naszą
Archidiecezję Chicago.
