Solo competition
1. The competition takes place from 27th to 29th April 2015 at the hall of The Grazyna
Bacewicz Music School in Wrocław.
2. “Young Percussion” solo competition is organized by:
 The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage
 Artistic Education Center
 Percussive Arts Society Poland
 The Grazyna Bacewicz Music School in Wroclaw
 Society for Young Talents “NONA”
3. The competition is for percussion soloists only. The competitors will be divided in two
age groups:
 Group “A” – age 10 -12
 Group “B” – age 13 -16
4. The competition will be judged by a jury. The members are:
 prof. Marian Rapczewski (PL) – The I. J. Pederewski Academy of Music in
Poznań
 prof. Stanisław Skoczyński (PL) – The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music
in Warsaw
 prof. Jacek Wota (PL) – The Karol Lipinski Academy of Music In Wrocław
The I. J. Pederewski Academy of Music in Poznań
 Se-Mi Hwang ( Korea Południowa KOR / Niemcy D)
 Anders Astrand (S) – composer, musician
The decisions of the jury are final.
5. This is a one stage competition. The program is:
 GROUP “A” – 4 pieces:
snare drum – 2 pieces (one “classic” and one with rudimental technique)
marimba or vibraphone – one piece with 4 mallet technique
timpani – etude or solo piece
Overall presentation time: 15 min

GROUP “B” – 5 pieces:
snare drum – 2 pieces (one “classic” and one with rudimental technique)
marimba – one piece with 4 mallet technique
vibraphone – one piece with 4 mallet technique
timpani – etude or solo piece
Overall presentation time: 20 min
6. Registration fee is 150 PLN or 50 EUR for competitors from other countries. It is nonrefundable, except the situation where the competition is cancelled. The fee covers
admission to workshops, presentations, instrument shows and concerts.
7. Registration form with photo and payment receipt should be sent by mail to:

8. The participation confirmation will be sent via e-mail. The competition schedule will
be announced on : www.sm1st.wroclaw.pl till Apirl 10th 2015.
9. During the competition every competitor has to begin with presenting 5 legible copies
of his/her program. Every competitor has to own the original of the performed piece
for the jury to review. Unauthorized copies won’t be honored.
10. All the competitors will be honored with certificate of participation and for the
winners there are special prizes from sponsors.
11. All the competitors have to make their accommodation reservations by themselves and
bear all the costs regarding traveling, accommodation and alimentation.
12. Submitting for this competition means accepting this rules.
