SHARING OUR BLESSINGS-March 23, 2014 Weekly $4697.52 (including $652 in loose money) Diocesan Obligations $45; Fuel $40; Church in Latin America $40; Electronic Giving $215 Weekly Budget $7000 - under $2002.48 Stewardship Note: “Not as man sees does God see, because man sees the appearance but the Lord looks into the heart.” How often do we invest our time, talent and treasure in creating an appearance that does not matter at all to God? We strive to impress with our clothing, home, career, possessions, car and other marks of distinction. But none of these illusions of greatness will impress God. Instead, He will look into our hearts to see how much we loved Him, how much we loved others and how we showed that love by the way we used our time, talents and treasure here on earth. FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT March 30, 2014 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. -Psalm 23:1 NEW VISION Jesus proclaimed that he came into the world to make the sightless see and the seeing blind. A difficult saying! But surely it must mean that Jesus intended to take our ordinary ways of looking at things and turn them inside out. Jesus came to change our perspective. When the prophet Samuel went out to select the new king, he chose a young man who had the look of royalty about him. But God told him not to judge by appearances. God told Samuel— and today tells us—to change our perspective and to look at things and people differently. We are like the Ephesians, whom Paul urged to live as children of the light. With the light of faith, we have a new way of looking at things and we are called to bring that new vision to the world around us. This is a great vocation, a calling to wake people up to what’s really important. This weekend’s second collection is for the Annual Catholic Relief Services (CRS) to help the poor and vulnerable throughout the world. Next weekend’s second collection is for Diocesan Obligations. RETREAT We begin our retreat this weekend at the regularly scheduled Masses in English and Polish for our Basilica Family with Fr. Jonathan Slavinskas, Assoc. KRONIKA PARAFIALNA CZWARTA NIEDZIELA WIELKIEGO POSTU 30 marca 2014 „Ku Tobie, Panie, wznoszę moją duszę.” (PS 23, 1) RELIGIA CCD – Zajęcia katechetyczne w poniedziałek, 31 marca o godz. 17:30. I Komunia Św. – Spotkanie z rodzicami w poniedziałek, 31 marca o godz. 17:30 w kafeterii.
