It is our great pleasure to announce that prof. Leonard Talmy, who will give a presentation
entitled: “The Targeting System of language", has joined the keynote speakers. In the annex you
will find the list of other participants and the titles of their presentations. However, please
be informed that the list is subject to change and will be available on the conference website
(www.jk2014.ajd.czest.pl) and on the Polish Cognitive Linguistics Association website. Please,
visit the above websites for Conference Programme and the Book of Abstracts which will be
available since the end of August. You are kindly advised to read the electronic version of the
abstracts since the hard copy will not be available.
Moreover, we kindly ask you to prepare handouts and/or slides to assist the audience in
following your presentation. Please, send your slides to [email protected] by 7
September 2014. They will be uploaded on the computers in conference rooms.
Please be informed that the conference venue is in the main building of the Jan Dlugosz University.
It is located in the city centre in Waszyngtona Street 4/8, close to the Czestochowa railway station.
The opening ceremony will be held on 15 September 2014, at 9:00 a.m. The registration will
begin at 8: 00. The conference banquet will be held on Monday evening (15 September 2014) at
a nearby restaurant, Tori, which is located in Raclawicka Street 4. Please, confirm your participation
in the banquet.
For visitors from abroad and for all those who come to Częstochowa on Sunday, we would like to
organise a guided tour around the Jasna Gora Sanctuary. Please, confirm your participation in
the tour.
Moreover, we kindly ask you to inform us if you would like to have vegetarian meals. Please,
send your answers to the questions which you will find at the bottom of this circular, by 1
September 2014.
In the annex you will find the map on which all the above-mentioned places and hotels have
been marked. For more detailed information about accommodation, please visit the conference
website: www.jk2014.ajd.czest.pl.
We would also like to remind you about paying the conference fee. Since the deadline for early
registration passed, we kindly ask all those of you who registered for the conference but have
not made the payment, yet, to confirm your participation. The deadline for paying the
conference fee is 1 September, 2014.
