A LETTER FROM JIM MAZURKIEWICZ
Dear friends! On behalf of Governor Rick Perry’s staff, it
is my honor to invite you to "Dzień Polski" Polish Day in
the State Capitol on Friday, September 26 in Austin,
Texas beginning at 12 noon. Everyone and anyone
interested in helping us celebrate "Dzień Polski" is invited
to attend and participate because it is open to the public.
There will be two performances representing the Polish
community and the performances will be in the capitol
rotunda. Tekla Klebetnica, winners of “Mam Talent”
from Poland and “Wawel” from Our Lady of
Czestochowa Catholic Church from Houston, Texas will
be performing beginning at 12 noon in the capitol, but I
am asking everyone to be in attendance by 11:00 a.m.
They will perform until 1:15 p.m. and following the two
performances, there will be a short program recognizing
the Texas
Polish communities/organizations in
attendance, the performers and the Polish Consul.
Please forward this email to all the Texas Polish
Catholic Churches, Polish Organizations and festivals
and invite them to be present to honor our Polish heritage
in the Texas state capitol. In addition, we are asking
everyone that has a Polish Folk Costume to please wear
this for "Dzień Polski" with pride representing your culture
and heritage. If you do not have a Polish costume, a
white blouse/shirt with a red necklace/ribbon will be very
nice as well. Also, bring a banner representing your
church, organization and/or festival. Following the event,
we will take a group photo on the South steps of the
capitol building. Your assistance in letting me know in
advance if your church, organization or festival will be in
attendance so that I may provide recognition to your
group that day would be most helpful.
To my knowledge, this will be the first time the Polish
community will be recognized in the Texas state capitol
since the first Polish immigrants came to Texas in 1854.
Your help in promoting this event would be greatly
appreciated. We want everyone represented! Also, you
may park in the capitol visitors parking garage located

on East 12 Street and the telephone number for the
garage is (512-463-5495). Please try and be present at
least one hour before the first performance.
We are very excited about this opportunity and extend our
gratitude to Texas Governor Rick Perry! Please help us
make this an event that our ancestors would be proud of
because they too helped make this state the greatest

pracy, pomysłów w organizację i przebieg festiwalu.
Wkrótce zostaną podane jego wyniki finansowe. W
największej części będą przeznaczone na spłatę
kredytu.
GRATITUDE FOR THE FESTIVAL
We warmly thank all for the enormous contribution of
time, labor, ideas in the organization and conduct of
the Harvest Festival. Soon the financial results will be
reported. The largest part will be used to repay the
loan.
POMOC CHRZEŚCIJANOM NA BLISKIM WSCHODZIE
Dziś w całej archidiecezji jest zbierana specjalna składka
przeznaczona dla chrześcijan na Bliskim Wschodzie
(w Iraku, Syrii i w Strefie Gazy). Nasza wspólnota już po
raz drugi gromadzi dziś fundusze na ten cel. Przed
dwoma tygodniami zebraliśmy $796.00. Bóg zapłać za
waszą dobroć!
HELP CHRISTIANS IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Today, throughout the Archdiocese, there will be a
special collection for Christians in the Middle East (Iraq,
Syria and the Gaza Strip). Our community for the second
time collects funds for this purpose. Two weeks ago, we
collected $796.00. God bless you for your kindness!
REKOLEKCJE KAPŁAŃSKIE
W związku z wyjazdem na rekolekcje kapłańskie, w
dniach 23-25 września – nie będzie Mszy w naszym
kościele.
POLSKI DZIEŃ NA KAPITOLU
W piątek, 26 września, w godz. 12:00 PM do 1:15 PM, na
Kapitolu w Austin odbędzie się występ zespołu „Tekla
Klebetnica” oraz naszej grupy „Wawel”. Zapraszamy całą
Polonię z Houston do wzięcia udziału w tym niezwykle
prestiżowym wydarzeniu. Gubernator Rick Perry wraz z grupą
10 biznesmenów udaje się do Polski w październiku tego roku.
KATECHEZA PRZED I KOMUNIĄ
Powraca katecheza przygotowująca do I komunii św.
Pierwsze zajęcia odbędą się w sobotę i niedzielę, 27-28
września. Na dzisiejszym spotkaniu z rodzicami, zostaną oni
poiformowani o organizacji katechezy w II roku przygotowania.
OPUS DEI W NASZYM KOŚCIELE
W przyszłym tygodniu, 27-28 września, podczas wszystkich
Mszy kazania będzie głosił ks. Paul D. Kais, z prałatury Opus
Dei. Ks. Paul wyjaśni nam ideę tego ruchu oraz zapowie
otwarcie ośrodka konsultacyjnego Opus Dei w naszym kościele.
Począwszy od 4 października, w każdą sobotę, w godz. 11:00
AM do 1:00 PM księża z Opus Dei będą pełnili dyżur w
konfesjonale oraz będą służyli kierownictwem duchowym.
PARADA PUŁAWSKIEGO
Zespół „Wawel” został zaproszony do wzięcia udziału w jednej z
najbardziej znanych uroczystości organizowanych przez Polonię
w Stanach Zjednoczonych – Paradę Puławskiego, w Nowym
Jorku. Parada odbędzie się w niedzielę, 5 października.
Dziękujemy wszystkim sympatykom naszego zespółu za pomoc
w zebraniu funduszy koniecznych do sfinansowania tego
przedsięwzięcia.
RADA PARAFIALNA
Posiedzenie rady parafialnej odbędzie się, 30 września.

RETREAT FOR PRIESTS
Due to the priest retreat in Michigan, on September
23-25 – there will not be Mass at our church.
POLISH DAY IN CAPITOL

On Friday, September 26 , from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM, at
the Capitol in Austin there will be a performance of "Tekla
Klebetnica" and of our group "Wawel". We invite the
entire Polonia from Houston to participate in this
highly prestigious event. Governor Rick Perry, along
with a group of 10 businessmen will be going to Poland in
October of this year.
CATECHESIS BEFORE FIRST COMMUNION
Catechesis and preparation for Holy Communion will now
resume. The first classes will be held on Saturday and Sunday,
September 27-28. At today's meeting with the parents, they will
be informed about the organization of catechesis in the second
year of preparation.
OPUS DEI IN OUR CHURCH
Next weekend, September 27-28, during all Masses our
preacher will be Fr. Paul D. Kais, of the Prelature of
Opus Dei. Fr. Paul explains to us the idea of this
movement and will announce the opening of a
consultative center of Opus Dei in our church. Starting
from October 4, every Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 1:00
PM priests of Opus Dei will heard confessions and will
serve spiritual direction.
PULASKI PARADE
Group "Wawel" was invited to participate in one of the
most famous celebrations organized by the Polish
community in the United States – the Pulaski Parade, in
New York. The parade will be held on Sunday, October 5.
Thank you to all our supporters for helping in raising
funds necessary to finance the project.
PARISH COUNCIL
The Parish Council meeting will be held on September
30.
