ZOO - opis zwierząt
Last Sunday, my friends and I decided to go to the zoo. It's been such a
long time since our last visit. So we took a bus and half an hour later we
arrived at the zoo. Having bought the tickets we started our journey.
The first animals we saw were long-necked giraffes. I wonder why they
need that. Right next to the giraffes there were zebras. They are white
horses with black stripes or black horses with white stripes all over their
body. It's funny no one can decide if the background is black or white.
Moving along we saw ostriches. Coward birds, hiding their heads in the
sand every time they're scared.
Turning to the left we met some lions. Kings of the jungle, with
wonderful manes, roaring loudly. Yes, we liked that. Our next stop was
the camels' corral. There were some with two humps and some with
one and I learnt that those are called dromedaries. Later on, we walked
up to numerous antelopes. There were too many species to remember
them all. The next animals we met were monkeys and lemurs. They're
so smart! And since we took a few bananas we gave some to them.
They seemed quite content. Having watched them eat and play we
moved on and came across the bears. They are huge! And they're not
as tame as teddy bears are. Then we saw some wolfs. They look much
alike Alsatian dogs but I bet they are much more dangerous. Next, we
moved to the bird's section. Think of any bird you like and you'll find it
there. Numerous parrots, owls, eagles, hawks, sparrows, storks,
hummingbirds, starlings, swallows, crows and many more. Then there
was the water birds section with all the pelicans, seagulls, flamingos,
gooses, ducks, swans and so on. They are all beautiful animals.
Then we saw pumas. Big, black, aggressive cats that look so tame and
cute you'd want to hug them. Right next to them there we tigers. And
believe me, they have almost nothing in common with the Tiger from
Winnie the Pooh. They are orange and have black stripes but they are
also wild and violent. In a zoo there surely are elephants. They were our
next stop. Huge gray animals with long trunks, big ears and tusks
seemed really calm and lazy. We moved on to water animals section
and saw alligators, hippos and a few steps further some seals,
penguins and walruses. Then we went inside the building where
terrarium was. All the insects, spiders and snakes are kept there. I didn't
quite like it as I'm not comfortable when I'm surrounded by this lot of
insects. Our last stop was the aquarium. I really liked all the colorful fish
swimming around. There were some starfish and medusas as well.
After 3 hours our tour of the zoo was over. Still excited we kept on
talking about the animals all way home.

W ostatnią niedzielę moi przyjaciele i ja zdecydowaliśmy, że pójdziemy
do zoo. Tak długo już tam nie byliśmy. Wsiedliśmy więc do autobusu i
pół godziny później byliśmy na miejscu. Po kupieniu biletów zaczęliśmy
naszą wędrówkę. Pierwszymi zwierzętami, jakie zobaczyliśmy, były
żyrafy z długimi szyjami. Zastanawiam się, po co im to. Zaraz obok
żyraf były zebry. To białe konie w czarne paski albo czarne konie w
białe paski na całym ciele. Śmiesznie, że nikt nie może się
zdecydować, jakie jest tło – czarne czy białe. Idąc dalej zobaczyliśmy
strusie. Tchórzliwe ptaki, chowające głowę w piasek za każdym razem,
kiedy się boją.
Skręcając w lewo, napotkaliśmy lwy. Królowie dżungli z pięknymi
grzywami, ryczący głośno. Tak, podobało nam się to. Następnym
przystankiem była zagroda wielbłądów. Jedne miały dwa garby, inne
tylko jeden i dowiedziałem się, że te nazywają się dromadery. Później
podeszliśmy do licznych antylop. Było tam tak wiele gatunków, że
trudno je spamiętać. Następnymi napotkanymi zwierzętami były małpy i
lemury. Sprytne zwierzaki! A skoro wzięliśmy banany, to daliśmy im
trochę. Wydawały się zadowolone. Po patrzeniu, jak jedzą i się bawią,
poszliśmy dalej i spotkaliśmy niedźwiedzie. Są ogromne! I nie są tak
łagodne jak pluszaki. Potem widzieliśmy wilki. Wyglądają podobnie do
psów wilczurów, ale założę się, że są dużo bardziej niebezpieczne.
Następnie przeszliśmy do działu z ptakami. Pomyśl o jakimkolwiek
ptaku i znajdziesz go tam. Liczne papugi, sowy, orły, jastrzębie, wróble,
bociany, kolibry, szpaki, jaskółki, kruki i wiele innych. Potem jest sekcja
ptaków wodnych z wszystkimi pelikanami, mewami, flamingami,
gęsiami, kaczkami, łabędziami itd. To piękne zwierzęta.
Potem widzieliśmy pumy. Wielkie, czarne agresywne koty wyglądające
tak łagodnie i słodko, że chce się je przytulić. Zaraz obok nich były
tygrysy. I uwierz – nie mają prawie nic wspólnego z Tygryskiem z
Kubusia Puchatka. Są pomarańczowe i mają czarne paski, ale są też
dzikie i agresywne. W zoo na pewno są słonie. Były naszym następnym
przystankiem. Wielkie szare zwierzęta z długimi trąbami, dużymi
uszami i kłami wydawały się naprawdę spokojne i leniwe. Przeszliśmy
do sekcji zwierząt wodnych i widzieliśmy aligatory, hipopotamy, a kilka
kroków dalej foki, pingwiny i morsy. Potem weszliśmy do budynku
terrarium. Wszystkie insekty, pająki i węże są tam trzymane. Nie bardzo
mi się to podobało, bo nie czuję się komfortowo w otoczeniu takiej ilości
robaków. Ostatnim naszym przystankiem było akwarium. Naprawdę
podobały mi się kolorowe ryby pływające dookoła. Były tam też
rozgwiazdy i meduzy. Po trzech godzinach nasz wycieczka się
skończyła. Ciągle podekscytowani rozmawialiśmy o zwierzętach przez
całą drogę do domu.
