Needs of the Church in Canada collection – Next
weekend September 27-28
Every year, the Bishops of Canada make an appeal for
financial assistance to support their work and the work
of each diocese by means of the Collection for the
Needs of the Church in Canada. The President of the
Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), the
Most Reverend Paul-André Durocher, Archbishop of
Gatineau, has described this Collection as “an
opportunity for all the faithful in our country to give a
hand to helping the Gospel!” The annual Collection
allows each diocese to meet its financial obligations to
the regional Episcopal assemblies and to the national
Episcopal Conference. “Any additional revenues raised
help the diocese support its own diocesan pastoral
programs and other activities,” Archbishop Durocher
explains. The CCCB is the national assembly of the
Catholic Bishops in Canada and includes the Bishops of
the Eastern Catholic Churches. The Collection for the
Needs of the Church in Canada will be held September
27-28. Through your contribution to the Collection, you
too can collaborate with the Bishops in their ministry to
teach, sanctify and govern.

“I love you!” Important words for every child to hear,
but knowing what these words mean is even more
significant. Loving someone is about looking outward
beyond our own needs and wants to see what is best for
the other; it is caring and compassion; it is empathy and
mutual respect. In short, love is more about what we
give to a relationship than what we get from it. For our
children, teaching them about good relationships and
the true meaning of love allows them to love in a
mature way when they get older and to expect a healthy
love for themselves.

W następną sobotę i niedzielę 27-28 września będzie
zbierana dodatkowa kolekta na potrzeby Kościoła w
Kanadzie. Zebrane pieniądze wspomagają pracę
naszych Biskupów w ważnych dla wszystkich
Kanadyjczyków sprawach, takich jak aborcja, czy
eutanazja. Bądźmy hojni!

Canadian couple’s conversion after reading one of Our
Lady's messages from Medjugorje. Patrick Latta, a
highly successful businessmen and car dealer in
Canada, had everything he wanted in life: money, cars,
women and one of the most expensive mansions in
West Vancouver. Soon after meeting his third wife
Nancy, a commercial lawyer, he read one, just one, of
Our Lady's messages from Medjugorje, the shortest he
could find. His life turned upside down and he realized
that in living his life he had both feet in hell. Leaving
behind everything they had created in their material
world, Patrick and Nancy moved to Medjugorje in
1993, during the height of the war. There they built the
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Retreat House, with a
specific desire to support, renew, and foster vocations
to the priesthood and religious life.

i Nancy przeprowadzili się do Medjugorje w 1993 r.
Tam ufundowali wspaniały dom rekolekcyjny Matki
Bożej Najświętszego Serca. Służy on między innymi w
wspieraniu powołań kapłańskich i zakonnych.
