Stewardship Note: Both widows in today’s readings gave all
they had to the work of the Lord, one using all her remaining
food to feed Elijah and the other offering her two copper coins
to the temple treasury. Faithful stewards give all that is asked
and trust the Lord to be faithful to His promises.

The Lord keeps faith forever, secures justice for the oppressed,
gives food to the hungry.

THE POOR
As Christians, we hear a lot about the witness and service that we are called to render
to the poor among us. However, the poor
also have a witness and a service to render to
us. Like the actions of the widow in today’s
Gospel, the openness and generosity of many of those who are
poor, even in the midst of their own poverty, bear witness to
the fact that, ultimately, we can depend only on God. Giving
one’s all witnesses that God will give all to anyone who trusts
in divine goodness.
The poor or disadvantaged also serve. They serve judgment
on our individual and corporate ways of acting. If people are
sleeping in our streets, that is a judgment on our priorities regarding others. At the same time, the poor can act as mediators
of salvation. When they care for others they can redeem our
indifference and insensibility, lead us to care as well, and save
us from ourselves.
This week’s second collection is for St. Joseph Basilica’s Utilities and Energy.
Next weekend’s Nov. 17 & 18 second collection as requested
by Bishop McManus’ office is designated
for Hurricane Sandy Relief.
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development collection will be taken
on the weekend of Nov. 24 & 25 in our parish.
Veteran’s Day
This year we celebrate Veteran’s Day on Sunday, November
11th. At all Masses we will we pray for the deceased Veterans
and honor the living who served in various wars to protect our
country.
This holiday will be observed on Mon., Nov. 12th, therefore
the school and rectory will be closed.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION WEEK
This weekend we will celebrate catechetical Sunday which is
dedicated to the teachers of religious education and the students. This year catechetical Sunday coincides with the Year of
Faith which intensifies our call to a deeper commitment to discipleship. We are grateful to many teachers from our parish
who justify the faith of the youngsters by scriptural and doctorial explanations. We commend the parents who follow their
baptismal commitment and send their children to religious education classes.

How can we as a parish participate in the Pope’s call to the
New Evangelization in the Year of Faith?
We could intensify the spirit of prayer through an increase in
participation in weekday morning masses; encourage devotion
to the Blessed Mother, Saint Joseph, Sacred Heart of Jesus;
solicit new members to various ministries, sponsor cultural activities, provide for the needy, etc. Your recommendations and
ideas are welcome as we continue to observe the Year of Faith.
The lack of faith of the children of our parish cannot be indifferent to their parents. Therefore submit, in a confidential way,
the name of a child for whom we should pray for in the Church.
The Bereavement Committee-wishes to thank all those who
participated in the Annual Remembrance Mass on Friday, November 2nd, All Souls Day.
A special thank you to V. Henrietta Panu for her calligraphy
expertise in listing all the names of the deceased in our Memory
Book. This special book is displayed near the Sacred Heart
side of the altar during the month of November.

We expect that the DVD of the Mass and Banquet of our recent 125th Jubilee Celebration to be available for purchase at

HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF COLLECTION
Knowing the generosity of our parishioners, I am sure that
many of you are wondering how you can help the people who
are trying to rebuild their lives following the unimaginable devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy in New York and New Jersey.
Our Parish’s second collection on November 17 & 18 will
be designated for victims of Sandy. Your generosity is appreciated.
Let us join in prayer in the coming weeks that the Holy Spirit
will bring hope for those who are feeling abandoned, solace to
those who have lost a loved one from the storm and eternal rest
to those who have lost their lives.

CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
The collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development will be held in our parish on the weekend of November 24-25. Please note the change of date.
CCHD was founded as a domestic anti-poverty program in
1970 by the Catholic bishops of the United States. They realized that outreach through existing charitable services was not
creating the changes needed to keep people out of poverty. The
bishops saw a need to address the policies and systems that
perpetuate poverty as a complement to their direct service programs. Last year 46.2 million Americans lived at or below the
poverty line an increase of over 2 million over the previous
year.
Your generous support is vital to CCHD’s anti-poverty mission and we pray for all caught in the cycle of poverty.
ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL NEWS
Parent/Teacher Conferences for students in grades 1-8 will
be on Thurs., Nov. 15th from 12:00-4:00pm and 5:30-7:00pm.
Fall athletic season concluded on Nov. 6th. Congratulations
to all coaches and players for an exciting season.
Winter season athletic schedule will begin this weekend with
a Rte. 395 league jamboree at Trinity Catholic in Southbridge.
First game will be on Dec. 1st at home.
SAVE THE DATE: Our annual tree lighting ceremony
will take place on Sat., Dec. 8th after 4:00pm Mass followed by
a ham and turkey dinner in the school cafeteria. This event is
being coordinated by the 125th Jubilee Committee and the
HSA. More details will be forthcoming.
ST. JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN’S CLUB
Please join the ladies of St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club at
Point Breeze Restaurant for their annual fundraiser “A Splash
of Panache”—”A vendor event” on Sunday, Nov. 11th from 15PM at Point Breeze Restaurant. Get a head start on your holiday shopping, some beauty advice, or turn some of your old
gold pieces into cash. There will be new and different vendors
offering their wares, along with a Special Gifts Raffle with
many prizes and a 50/50 raffle. Hot and cold hors d’oevres will
be served throughout the afternoon. Each guest will receive a
complimentary gift bag. Tickets are $20 and will be available

This weekend the Knights of Columbus #12980 are asking

TRZYDZIESTA DRUGA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA

„Pan wiary dochowuje na wieki, daje prawo uciśnionym
i daje chleb głodnym.” (Ps 146, 7)
Trudno jest zrezygnować ze swoich praw i oddać coś, co
uważamy za swoją własność, nawet gdy
skłania nas ku temu sumienie. Słowo Boże
głosi dziś pochwałę dwóch ubogich wdów,
hojnie obdarowujących Boga i ludzi tym,
co posiadały. Takiej postawy uczy nas
również sam Jezus, który ofiarował samego siebie dla
zgładzenia naszych grzechów. Obyśmy przyjmując Go
w Eucharystii, nie rezygnowali z Jego aprobaty, pokoju,
bliskości dla drobiazgów niewartych więcej niż garść mąki,
kropla oliwy czy dwa drobne pieniążki.
Druga kolekta dzisiejszej niedzieli jest przeznaczona
na pokrycie kosztów energii i utrzymania.
Druga kolekta w przyszłą niedzielę będzie przeznaczona
na wsparcie poszkodowanych prze huragan Sandy.
VETERANS DAY
W niedzielę 11 listopada przypada Veterans Day, święto w
którym oddajemy cześć wszystkim, którzy walczyli w czasie
wojen, w których Ameryka brała udział. W całym kraju
odbędą się uroczystości i parady. Dla nas Polaków jest to
jednocześnie Święto Niepodległości. Dzień w którym
upamiętniamy odrodzenie się Państwa Polskiego po ponad
stuletniej niewoli.
W związku z tym, że święto to przypada na niedzielę,
zostaje ono przeniesione na poniedziałek 12 listopada. Tego
dnia zarówno nasza szkoła jak i biuro parafialne będą
nieczynne.
ZBIÓRKA NA POSZKODOWANYCH PRZEZ
HURAGAN
Znając wspaniałomyślność mieszkańców naszej diecezji,
jestem pewien, że wielu naszych parafian zastanawia się, jak
mogłoby pomóc tym, którzy próbują odbudować swoje
życie po niewyobrażalnych stratach spowodowanych, przez
huragan Sandy w Nowym Jorku i New Jersey. W naszej
parafii na pomoc poszkodowanym będzie przeznaczona
druga kolekta w następnym tygodniu 18 listopada.
Połączmy się w modlitwie i prośmy Ducha Świętego, by
dał nadzieję tym, którzy czują się opuszczeni, pociechę tym,
którzy utracili bliskich i wieczny odpoczynek dla tych,
którzy stracili życie.

Spodziewamy się, że już od następnego tygodnia będzie
można nabyć pamiątkowe DVD z nagraniem z obchodów
Jubileuszu 125 lat istnienia naszej parafii. Cena jednego

Zbórka na Catholic Campain for Human Development
odbędzie się w naszej parafii w niedzielę 25 listopada.
Catholic Campain for Human Development została
ustanowiona w 1970 roku przez biskupów amerykańskich
jako akcja przeciwko ubóstwu. W ostatnim roku 46.2 miliony
amerykanów żyło na poziomie lub poniżej poziomu ubóstwa.
W tym roku ta liczba zwiększyła się o kolejne 2 miliony.
Wasza hojność jest ogromnym wsparciem dla Catholic
Campain for Human Development w misji przeciwko
ubóstwu. Bóg zapłać za wszelki ofiary.
WIADOMOŚCI SZKOLNE

RYCERZE KOLUMBA
Dzisiejszej niedzieli Rycerze Kolumba prowadzą zbiórkę na
zakup indyków na Święto Dziękczynienia, aby móc wesprzeć
potrzebujących. Mamy nadzieję, że wasze ofiary pomogą dla
wielu rodzin uczynić ten szczególny dzień szczęśliwszym .
RELIGIA
Lekcje Religii odbywają się w każdy poniedziałek w godz.
od 17:30 do 18:30. W najbliższy poniedziałek 12 listopad
lekcji religii nie ma z powodu obchod Veterans Day,
Potrzebujemy wolontariuszy, którzy zechcieliby dołączyć
się do grona katechetycznego. Zainteresowanych prosimy o
kontakt z kancelarią parafialną.
Bierzmowanie. Spotkania przygotowawcze dla kandydatów
do bierzmowania będą odbywały się w każdą drugą i czwartą
niedzielę miesiąca (wyjątkowo w tym miesiącu drugie
spotkanie w trzecią niedzielę, 18 listopada). Najbliższe
spotkanie 18 listopada w sali konferencyjnej w szkole o
godz. 8:30. Po spotkaniu wspólna Eucharystia o godz. 9:30
(Msza z Grupą Młodzieżówą). Obecność kandydatów jest
obowiązkowa.
TYDZIEŃ EDUKACJI RELIGIJNEJ
W tym tygodniu obchodzimy Niedzielę katechetyczną,
która jest poświęcona zarówno uczniom jak i nauczycielom
edukacji religijnej. Wyrażamy wdzięczność katechetom z
naszej parafii, którzy dzielą swoja wiarę i wyjaśniają jej
tajniki młodszym pokoleniom. Doceniamy również rodziców,
którzy dotrzymują chrzcielnej obietnicy i wysyłają swoje
dzieci na katechezę.
MSZA MŁODZIEŻOWA
W niedzielę 18 listopada będziemy gościli w naszej
Bazylice Grupę Młodzieżową, do której należy młodzież z
wszystkich trzech parafii w Wabster. Msza św. Zostanie
odprawiona o godz. 9:30. Serdecznie zapraszamy.
SPRZEDAŻ KARTEK BOŻONARODZENIOWYCH.
W dzisiejszą niedzielę przed i po Mszy św. o 11-ej nasza
rodzice z naszej sobotniej szkoły będą sprzedawać piękne
kartki bożonarodzeniowe. Dochód ze sprzedaży będzie
przeznaczony na ciągle rosnące wydatki szkoły. Liczymy, że
oferując te kartki już teraz, zaoszczędzimy Wam
poszukiwania ich po sklepach, a przy okazji wesprzemy
budżet naszej sobotniej szkoły.
ZABAWA ANDRZEJKOWA.
Polska Szkoła Sobotnia zaprasza również na tradycyjną
zabawę andrzejkową, która w tym roku odbędzie się w
sobotę 1-go grudnia w St. Stephen’s Hall w Quinebaug, CT.
Jak wiecie są problemy z wynajmem PACC, a nie ma w
okolicy drugiego miejsca, które wygodnie mogłoby
pomieścić dużą ilość tańczących osób. Z racji tego, że ta sala
jest w CT będziemy mogli się bawić do 1-ej, a nie jak
zwykle do północy. W tym roku grał będzie Robert i Paweł,
czyli „Polski Deejay”. Cena biletu z obiadem to $30 od
osoby. Rezerwacje stolików i bilety można zakupić u

ROK WIARY
Papież Benedykt XVI powiedział, że to miłość Chrystusa
wypełniająca nasze serca jest siłą ewangelizacji. Tak jak i w
przeszłości tak i teraz posyła nas na świat, abyśmy głosili
Jego Ewangelię wszystkim ludziom na ziemi. Musimy się
zatem zastanowić jak my, jako wspólnota parafialna
możemy dołączyć się do Nowej Ewangelizacji w
rozpoczętym Roku Wiary.
Możemy wzmocnić ducha modlitwy poprzez częstsze
uczestnictwo w Mszach świętych w ciągu tygodnia, w
nabożeństwach do Matki Bożej, św. Józefa czy
Najświętszego Serca Jezusowego. Możemy dołączać się do
różnych organizacji posługujących we wspólnocie
parafialnej, organizować wydarzenia kulturalne i troszczyć
się o potrzebujących. Rniez brak wiary u dzieci w naszej
parafii nie może być obojętny dla ich rodziców.
