Prayer to St. Joseph: St. Joseph, in the popular piety of the
Church, has been considered the patron saint of those dying
since he himself had the privilege of dying in the arms of Mary
and Jesus. St. Joseph is also the patron of fathers, families,
workers, people experiencing personal difficulties and single
individuals searching for a spouse. Every Wed. in Nov. during
morning Masses we have a Novena Prayer to St. Joseph dedicated to All Souls for a happy death. A happy death is when we
reconcile with God and one another and receive the sacraments
especially the Sacrament of Healing.
Stewardship Note: What percentage does God ask of me as a
good steward? All of my heart, all of my soul, all of my mind,
and all of my strength!

LOVE GOD
As we near the end of the liturgical year we
listen to Gospel readings from the final stage of
Jesus’ ministry—his teaching in Jerusalem.
This Sunday Jesus is in conversation with one
of the scribes of the temple. In a rare occurrence Jesus and the scribe agree on the two greatest commandments—to love God with all your being and to love your
neighbor as yourself.
In today’s selection from Deuteronomy Moses gives this
teaching to the Israelites as the core of their life of faith and
prayer, and Psalm 18 echoes this prayer with the words, “I love
you, O LORD, my strength”. Jews and Christians agree that
our greatest responsibility is to love the one and only God, and
that we cannot claim to love God without loving our neighbor

FAMILY/SPORTS MASS
This Sunday, Nov. 4th at 9:30am Mass we welcome all our
Saint Joseph School student athletes and their coaches. We ask
for God’s blessings for a successful season for our young boys
and girls.

DIVINE MERCY DEVOTIONS
This Sunday, Nov. 4th at 3:00pm we will pray to the Divine
Mercy for special graces needed in our lives and in the world.
The chaplet which God gave to the world through Sister
Faustina is a beautiful prayer that has a powerful efficacy to
repair the hurt wrought by sin. To humanity immersed in sin,
the Lord offers great encouragement. Devotion to His mercy
will include confident expectation of His return.
We ask all parishioners to join us for the singing of the Chaplet followed by benediction.

cold temperatures in the Basilica because one unit was providing only 25% capacity and the other unit totally failed and was

CEMETERY PROCESSION
With the cemetery prayer service last Sunday, we inaugurated November as the month of prayer for the repose of the
souls who might be in purgatory.
Despite inclement weather many parishioners and friends
joined us at St. Joseph Garden of Peace for the annual cemetery
procession. We appreciate all who participated and prayed for
their deceased loved ones. I was pleased to see parents together
with their children at the cemetery to continue this centuries old
tradition.
During November, please continue to participate in morning
masses in the intention of our deceased loved ones who may
need our spiritual assistance. Also acts of charity, performed
on behalf of our loved ones is a noble practice. It is also a time
to remedy and amend the mistakes and shortcomings of our
deceased family members. If we are oblivious to the needs of
those who were once part of our life, who will help them? This
prompts another question. If we do not care now, who will be
there for us?
MEETINGS
St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club-Executive Board will meet

ELECTION DAY
On Tuesday, November 6th we as Americans will exercise
our right to vote on a national, state and local level. We are at a
critical point in America’s history and our voting will determine
not only our economy and foreign policy, but the very fabric of
the moral direction of our country. The presidency, control of
congress and the kind of future justices of the Supreme Court
shall be determined. We have an obligation to get involved, to
understand and educate others, - with Love and Truth. Indeed
the truth CAN “set us free”.
Remember to make an intelligent judgment on the stand of
the candidate and your value system.
In Massachusetts, we will also vote on a referendum item,
Ballot Question 2, “Death with Dignity Act”. Please read
Bishop Robert McManus’ letter included in this bulletin.
ST. JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN’S CLUB

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
Next weekend, November 10 & 11, the Knights of Columbus
Council #12980 will hold our Annual Thanksgiving Turkey
Drive. Each year we raise money to purchase turkeys from
Price Chopper and help to feed people in our local community
who are having a difficult year. Last year we were able to assist 150 families. Any donation will help those in need. If you

YEAR OF FAITH
We are in the planning stage of preparing programs to commemorate the “Year of Faith” in our parish. We ask all parishioners to take a minute of two to contemplate how we can best
serve our St. Joseph community during this special time. The
“Year of Faith” implies evangelization , personal evaluation of
your faith, its benefits and obstacles from theological, psychological and cultural point of view.
VETERANS DAY
Sunday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day or Armistice Day, noting
the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. We honor
those who served in all American wars including all living military veterans with parades and a special national ceremony at
Arlington Cemetery in Virginia. It is a federal and state holiday
and will be observed on Mon., Nov. 12. Therefore, St. Joseph
School and the rectory will be closed.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY UPDATE
The 2012 Partners in Charity appeal ended on August 31,
2012 after having raised $4,835,997. The total represents
nearly 97% of its $5 million goal. The Diocese of Worcester
received 1,306 new gifts this year and raised an additional
$111,645 over last year.
The Diocese expresses their thank you to all our parishioners
for helping to attain our goal and for partnering to do Christ’s
work on Earth.
NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS
The month of November is noted not only for Veterans Day
and Thanksgiving Day but this year for special birthday greetings to Eugenia Kos and Doris Beaulieu. We wish you God’s
blessings for friends, sunshine and happiness throughout the
year.
OFFICE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Religious Education Classes-will be held on Monday, Nov.
5th from 5:30-6:30pm in the school.
We need volunteers to promote a successful program. If
you are interested in joining our team, please contact the rectory. Training will be provided.

in the school at 8:30am, followed by participation in the Liturgy
at 9:30am.

TRZYDZIESTA PIERWSZA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA

"Będziesz miłował Pana, Boga twojego, z całego swego serca, z całej
duszy swojej, ze wszystkich swych sił." (Pwt 6, 5).
Co czynić, aby nasze życie było udane?
Słowo Boże podkreśla dziś znaczenie
przykazań Bożych, a zwłaszcza przykazania
miłości Boga i bliźniego. Skąd jednak
czerpać motywację do ich przestrzegania,
kiedy przytłacza nas własna słabość i grzeszność?
Ostateczną odpowiedzią Boga na nasze poszukiwanie
szczęścia nie jest przepis, lecz osoba Jezusa Chrystusa,
który z miłości ofiarował samego siebie za nasze grzechy.
Tylko przyjmując Jego miłość, możemy naprawdę kochać
Dzisiejsza druga kolekta jest przeznaczona
na Zobowiązania Diecezjalne.
Druga kolekta w następną niedzielą będzie przeznaczona
na pokrycie kosztów utrzymania i energii.
KORONKA DO MIŁOSIERDZIA BOŻEGO
Dzisiejszej niedzieli gromadzimy się na wspólnej
modlitwie Koronką do Miłosierdzia Bożego. Jest to godzina
modlitwy o potrzebne łaski dla nas i dla naszych bliskich.
Jezus powiedział siostrze Faustynie: "... o godzinie trzeciej
proś o moje miłosierdzie. To jest godzina wielkiego
miłosierdzia dal całego świata. ... W tej godzinie niczego nie
odmówię duszy, która prosić mnie będzie rozważając moją
mękę.
MSZA SPORTOWCÓW
Dzisiejszej nie dzieli zostanie odprawiona specjalna Msza
św. z udziałem uczniów naszej szkoły, którzy należą do
drużyn sportowych oraz ich trenerów. Będziemy modlić się
o Błogosławieństwo Boże oraz pełen sukcesów sezon
sportowy.
ŚPIMY GODZINĘ DŁUŻEJ!
W nocy z soboty 3 listopada na niedzielę 4 listopada cofamy
o godzinę zegarki, i przechodzimy na czas zimowy.
OGRZEWANIE
W ostatnim tygodniu mogliśmy odczuć, ze w naszej
Bazylice było zbyt zimno. Jest to spowodowane awarią
systemu grzewczego. Jeden z pieców był zdolny pracować
tylko na 25% swoich możliwości, a drugi nie dawał ciepła w
ogóle, wiejąc jedynie zimnym powietrzem. Konieczna jest
naprawa obydwu z nich. Odpowiednie części zostały już
zamówione. Mamy nadzieję, że uda się uruchomić w pełni
sprawne już na ten weekend.

PROCESJA NA CMENTARZU
Ubiegłej niedzieli, zgromadzeni na naszym cmentarzu, na
uroczystej procesji, rozpoczęliśmy czas listopadowych
modlitw w intencji zmarłych, cierpiących w czyśćcu. Mimo
niesprzyjającej pogody wielu parafian i przyjaciół wzięło
udział w liturgii. Szczególne cieszył widok modlących się
wspólnie rodziców i dzieci, co daje nadzieję, że tradycja
Kościoła modlitwy w intencji zmarłych, będzie się umacniać
i rozwijać na przyszłe pokolenia.
Zachęcamy do udziału w porannych Mszach św. w
listopadzie i do modlitwy w intencji bliskich zmarłych .
Również akty miłosierdzia. spełniane w imieniu naszych
bliskich stanowią dla nich ogromną pomoc w przejściu z
Czyśćca do radości Nieba.
WYBORY
We wtorek, 6 listopada, Amerykanie będą mogli uczyć w
praktyce prawo do wyboru władz na poziomie
ogólnopaństwowym, stanowym i lokalnym. Zdecydujemy
kto będzie prezydentem, kto będzie kontrolował Kongres
oraz kto będzie decydował o orzekaniu sprawiedliwości w
Sądzie Najwyższym. Ameryka znajduje się teraz w
szczególnym momencie swojej historii, a nasze decyzje w
wyborach będą miały w pływ nie tylko na przyszła
ekonomię i politykę zagraniczną, ale również moralność
kraju, w którym żyjemy. Jest zatem naszym obowiązkiem,
aby wziąć udział w wyborach oraz poprzez rzeczowe
dyskusje pomagać innym w zrozumieniu prawdy, gdyż tylko
prawda czyni nas ludźmi wonnymi.
VETERANS DAY
W niedzielę 11 listopada przypada Veterans Day, święto w
którym oddajemy cześć wszystkim, którzy walczyli w czasie
wojen , w których Ameryka brała udział. W całym kraju
odbędą się uroczystości i parady. Dla nas polaków jest to
jednocześnie Święto Niepodległości, dzień w którym
upamiętniamy odrodzenie się Państwa Polskiego po ponad
stuletniej niewoli.
W związku z tym, że święto to przypada na niedzielę,
zostaje ono przeniesione na poniedziałek 12 listopada. Tego
dnia zarówno nasza szkoła jak i biuro parafialne będą
nieczynne.
RELIGIA
Lekcje Religii odbywają się w każdy poniedziałek w
godz. od 17:30 do 18:30. W najbliższy poniedziałek,
Potrzebujemy wolontariuszy, którzy zechcieliby
dołączyć się do grona katechetycznego. Zainteresowanych
prosimy o kontakt z kancelarią parafialną.
Bierzmowanie.
Spotkania
przygotowawcze
dla
kandydatów do bierzmowania będą odbywały się w każdą
drugą i czwartą niedzielę miesiąca (wyjątkowo w tym
miesiącu drugie spotkanie w trzecią niedzielą 18
listopada). Najbliższe spotkanie 11 listopada w sali
konferencyjnej w szkole o godz. 8:30. Po spotkaniu wspólna
Eucharystia o godz. 9:30. Obecność kandydatów jest
obowiązkowa.
RYCERZE KOLUMBA
W następny weekend 10 i 11 listopada Rycerze Kolumba
będą organizowali Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive.
Każdego roku akcja ta jest organizowana w celu pomocy
ludziom biednym, którzy mają trudności ze zdobyciem
środków na życie. W ubiegłym roku taką pomoc z okazji
Święta Dziękczynienia otrzymało 150 rodzin. Każda ofiara
na ten cel będzie bardzo pomocna. Po bardziej szczegółowe

PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Tegoroczna akcja Partners in Charity zakończyła się w
sierpniu. W sumie zebrano $4.835.997. Jest to o $111.645

GRUPA MŁODZIEŻOWA
18 listopada o godz. 9:30 odbędzie się w naszej Bazylice

młodzieżowa
organizowana
przez
Grupę
Młodzieżową. Do udziału w tym szczególnym wydarzeniu
duchowym zapraszamy wszystkich młodych naszej parafii.
SPRZEDAŻ KARTEK BOŻONARODZENIOWYCH.
W dzisiejszą niedzielę przed i po Mszy św. o 11-ej nasza
rodzice z naszej sobotniej szkoły będą sprzedawać piękne
kartki bożonarodzeniowe. Dochód ze sprzedaży będzie
przeznaczony na ciągle rosnące wydatki szkoły. Liczymy, że
oferując te kartki już teraz, zaoszczędzimy Wam
poszukiwania ich po sklepach, a przy okazji wesprzemy
budżet naszej sobotniej szkoły.
ZABAWA ANDRZEJKOWA.
Polska Szkoła Sobotnia zaprasza również na tradycyjną
zabawę andrzejkową, która w tym roku będzie w sobotę 1go grudnia w St. Stephen’s Hall w Quinebaug, CT. Jak
wiecie są problemy z wynajmem PACC, a nie ma w okolicy
drugiego miejsca, które wygodnie mogłoby pomieścić dużą
ilość tańczących osób. Z racji tego, że ta sala jest w CT
