ALTAR SERVERS
First, I would like to express my sincere THANKS to all of the altar servers, not only for serving, but for
being so faithful to the schedule. It isn't always easy to serve a particular Mass, but I am grateful to
each and every one of you ( parents, as well - without you we couldn't do it!) for your participation in
this ministry of serving at Mass.
There will be a meeting of all Altar Servers and their parents on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 FROM
7-8:30PM IN THE CHURCH.
At the meeting, the Mass will be explained as well as going over all of the procedures and practices for
the Altar Servers serving at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, including scheduling. Parents are invited
so that perhaps if we all hear the same thing, they too will be able to explain to the children what to
do at Mass. It is important that everyone serving at Mass attend.
If you interested in becoming an Altar Server you are also welcome.
I look forward to seeing all of you in Church on Thursday, September 3 at 7:00pm.

OUTREACH CENTER
Believe it or not, children will be going back
to school very shortly. Parents are coming
into our boutique looking for fall/winter
clothing sizes Boys 7-16 and Girls 3T- 6X. If
you have any clothing in these sizes that your
children no longer need or wish to donate in
these sizes it would be greatly appreciated.
We thank you for your kind generosity.
Our pantry needs this week are: Macaroni
and cheese, pudding snacks, pop top small
snack cans of fruit, tomato sauce and tuna

of the trip to the World Youth Day – Krakow 2016
“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. … God loves a cheerful
giver” (2 Cor 9:6, 7b).
25 young men and women from our parish are going to travel in July next year to the World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland.
It is a wonderful opportunity to enrich their faith while attending the evangelization events, concerts, youth rallies and a
Holy Mass with the Pope. It is also a time to learn about the history of Poland and Europe while visiting different historic
sites such as Kraków, Wieliczka Salt Mines, Auschwitz, Częstochowa, Wadowice and others. And of course it is a time
of making new friends from all over the world. The total cost of the trip is about $2700. Since not all of the young
people who have signed up for the trip can fully pay the expenses, I kindly ask for your financial support. Please, become
a sponsor of our trip. Every donation counts and it is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. You can make checks payable to “OLA
Church”, write in the memo: “WYD 2016.”

New Religious Education Class
In the 2015-2016 school year, we will be offering a
Continuing Education class for young people ages
14-17 who have already received the Sacrament of
Confirmation. Father Janusz will be teaching this
class to continue formation in the Faith and to provide important ways to meet the contemporary
problems that Catholics face. If you are interested,

Knights of Columbus Council 9267
The Knights of Columbus Council 9267 is having a
Flapjack Fundraiser at. Applebee's (600 N. Wellwood
Avenue, Lindenhurst ) on Saturday, September 19th
8am-10am the cost is $10. The breakfast will consist of:
pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and a beverage of coffee, orange juice, soda or tea. Tickets will
be sold following all masses. The proceeds of this
event will be utilized for various scholarships.

YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE
Pope Francis proclaimed 2015 a Year of Consecrated Life, starting on the First Sunday of
Advent, the weekend of November 29, 2014,
and ending on February 2, 2016, the World Day
of Consecrated life.
The year also marks the 50th anniversary of
Perfectae Caritatis, a decree on religious life,
and Lumen Gentium, the Second Vatican Council’s constitution on the Church. Its purpose, as
stated by the Vatican is to “make a grateful remembrance of the recent past” while embracing
“the future with hope.”

to look at the many ways men and women serve
Christ and the Church while answering the call
to live in consecrated life.” Bishop Michael F. Burbidge of Raleigh, NC, chairman of the USCCB Committee

25 jóvenes de nuestra parroquia viajarán en Julio del
próximo año al Día Mundial de la Juventud en Krakow,
Polonia. Esta es una magnifica oportunidad para enriquecer su fe mientras asisten a eventos de evangelización,
conciertos, reuniones juveniles y a la Santa Misa con el
Papa. También es tiempo para aprender sobre la historia
de Polonia y Europa, al mismo tiempo que visitan diferentes sitios históricos tales como Krakow, Wieliczka, Salt
Mines, Auschiwitz, Częstochowa, Wadowice y otros. Y
por supuesto es tiempo para hacer nuevos amigos de todas
partes del mundo. El costo total del viaje es alrededor
de $2700. Ya que no todos los jóvenes que se han anotado para el viaje pueden pagar el total de los gastos, yo
gentilmente les pido su apoyo financiero. Por favor, sea

SERVIDORES DEL ALTAR
Primeramente me gustaría expresar mis
sinceros AGRADECIMIENTOS a todos los
Servidores del Altar, no solamente por
servir sino también por su responsibilidad
en cumplir su horario.
No siempre es
fácil servir en una Misa en particular,
pero estoy agradecido de que cada uno
de us tedes (incluyendo a sus padres,
sin los cuales no podríamos lograrlo) por
su participación en este Ministerio.
Habrá una reunión de TODOS los Servidores del Altar incluyendo a sus padres,
el JUEVES 3 DE SEPTIEMBRE, de 7:00PM
a 8:30PM. EN LA IGLESIA.
Durante la Reunión, será explicada la
Misa, tanto como los procedimientos y
prácticas de los Servidores del Altar de
nuestra parroquia, incluyendo el horario.
Los padres están invitados, para que así
puedan oír y talvez explicar a los niños
qué hacer durante la Misa.
Es importante que todos los que sirven
durante las Misas, asistan a esta reunión.
Asimismo, si alguno/a está interesado/a en
servir como Monaguillo, también es bienvenido,
Espero verlos a todos en la Iglesia el
Jueves 3 de Septiembre a las 7:00PM.

Agosto. Se recolectaron 52 unidades de sangre. Un

Grupa młodzieży z naszej parafii w liczbie 25 osób wybiera się w następnym roku w lipcu na Światowe Dni Młodzieży
w Krakowie. Będzie to dla nich świetna okazja, aby pogłębić swoją wiarę poprzez uczestnictwo w katechezach i spotkaniach ewangelizacyjnych. Z pewnością będzie to też czas radości i nowych przyjaźni z młodzieżą z całego świata. Koszt całej wyprawy to około
$2700 . Niestety niektórzy z zdeklarowanych uczestników tej wyprawy nie są w stanie zapłacić całej sumy. Proszę więc Was

Przyjmujemy intencje na Msze św. na rok 2015.
Ofiara za intencję wynosi $15. Intencje należy zamawiać w kancelarii parafialnej w godzinach pracy. Nie
przyjmujemy intencji przez telefon.
Można również uczcić pamięć swoich bliskich poprzez
złożenie donacji na Eucharystyczny Chleb i Wino na
wybrany tydzień . ($50) : w intencji osób żyjących
(z okazji rocznicy, urodzin lub w intencji dziękczynnej)
lub w intencji osób zmarłych.

Diecezja Rockville Centre rozprowadzi w drodze
loterii bilety na Mszę św., którą Papież Franciszek
odprawi w Madison Square Garden na Manhattanie w piątek 25 września tego roku, o godz.
18:30. Osoby, które pragnęłyby uczestniczyć w tej
Mszy św. proszone są o pobranie aplikacji (ticket
request form) w swojej parafii lub na diecezjalnej

drvc.org>) i zwrócenie jej najpóźniej do czwartku
10 września. Osoby, ktore wylosują bilety zostaną

Sesja programu szkoleniowego Virtus w języku
polskim w naszej parafii odbędzie się w piątek 18
września 2015 r. , w godz: 18:00-21:00 w sali pod
kościołem.
Rejestracja uczestników kursu odbywa się

on-Line. Przypominamy, że wszyscy wolontariusze parafialni muszą wyrazić zgodę na
sprawdzenie swojej przeszłości. Potrzebne formy

W naszej parafii już od 1999 roku istnieje formacja
modlitewna zwana „Żywym Różańcem”. Uczestnictwo w Żywym Różańcu polega na przynależności do 20-osobowej grupy, zwanej Różą. Każda
osoba z Róży rozważa jedną tajemnicę różańca
i w ten sposob wszyscy razem odmawiają każdego dnia cały różaniec.
Żywy Różaniec ma charakter modlitewny, a w
założeniach swoich ma na celu: dochowanie
wierności Bogu, wytrwanie w dobrym, wspomaganie działalności duszpasterzy (czynnie i modlitewnie), wspomaganie Zgromadzenia Sióstr
Loretanek w ich działalności charytatywnej i redakcyjnej oraz propagowanie czytania pism katolickich.
W naszej wspólnocie Żywy Różaniec tworzą dwie
Róże. Spotkanie wszystkich członków odbywa się
(pod opieką duchową księdza proboszcza Dariusza Koszyka) w pierwszą niedzielę miesiąca po
Mszy Św. Wieczornej (około godz 18:00).
Program spotkania: modlitwa różańcowa w sali
pod kościołem, rozważanie Pisma Świętego i
wymiana tajemnic.

This past weekend some of us heard a
homily, the subject of which I believe needs
some clarification. But first I would like to state
that I have worked for the Catholic Church my
whole adult working life, and do not consider the
Church unfair to women because I cannot be a
priest. The priesthood is a gift from God, and no
one has a right to demand it.
With this said, I would like to offer the
final paragraph of Pope John Paul's final decision
on women in the priesthood.
Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be
removed regarding a matter of great importance, a
matter which pertains to the Church's divine
constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of
confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare
that the Church has no authority whatsoever to
confer priestly ordination on women and that this
judgment is to be definitively held by all the
Church's faithful.
Invoking an abundance of divine assistance
upon you, venerable brothers, and upon all the
faithful, I impart my apostolic blessing.
From the Vatican, on May 22, the Solemnity
of Pentecost, in the year 1994, the sixteenth of my
Pontificate.
Having presented the above, I pray that you
will use you faith inspired judgment to remain
faithful children of the Church.
