ADVENT
The four weeks before Christmas are called “Advent.” It is
a time of preparation, waiting and hope. The Advent liturgy
resounds with the cries of the Hebrew prophets, the voice
of Jesus, and John the Baptist preaching that the Lord is
near. Hear their message still ringing through today’s dark
winters. As we listen to the Advent Gospels, we will hear
their voices announcing the coming of the Savior.

PARISH ANNUAL WIGILIA
St. Mary’s annual Wigilia Dinner will
be held on Sunday, December 3, 2006
at the European Chalet, 5445 S. Harlem Avenue in Chicago, IL. The celebration will begin with an 11:00am Mass followed by
dinner, entertainment and dancing. Adult tickets arer
$30 per person and tickets for children 3 to 12 yrs.

rectory during office hours from 9am to 5pm. There is

(Charitable Giving Incentives)
If you are 70 1/2 and over and are receiving a TAXABLE IRA distribution then you can deduct up to
$100,000 as a qualified charitable distribution so long
as the amount you deduct would have been included
in gross income anyway - without the donation.
These donations can be any amount of money up to
the limit. Please consider your parish for a donation
of this type. Your donation could also save you a
large sum of money at Tax Time. Legislation has this
incentive terminating in December of 2007.

is an envelope to be used for Christmas flower donations. You may use
this envelope on any Sunday in Advent (Dec. 3rd, 10th or 17th). However, on Sunday December 17th,
there will be a second collection specifically for Christmas flowers. On
December 17th you will also find an envelope for the collection for Extraordinary Expenses among your Sunday envelopes; we kindly ask that you drop this envelope in the first
collection on December 17th so that it will not be mixed up
with the second collection for Christmas flowers. Your generosity in supporting your parish is very much appreciated!

Stewardship of Treasure
The Bible says we should set
aside our “First Fruits,” that our
offering to God should be the
first portion we set aside, not
what remains. Once you begin
to give of your time and talent
to others out of a sense of gratitude to God, you become a
steward. It’s not so difficult. Our
parishioners try to be good stewards. We give our
time to people every day in service; we give our talents to people everyday by helping them through difficult times. We give our money every week. Jesus was
the ultimate Steward. He died and was buried and
rose again not for Himself, but for each of us. That’s
really giving back out of gratitude. We need your consistent weekly support to meet our obligations.
Thanks to the wonderful parishioners who give so
generously each week: “It is in giving that we receive….”
There is no report of last week’s Sunday collection
due to the fact that this bulletin had to be sent in for
print no later than Friday, November 17th because of
the Thanksgiving holidays. We will give the report of

the Giant Christmas Cash Raffle
will be sold for $5 each. Raffle
prizes consist of: 1st Prize, $1,000; two $500 prizes:

Bethlehem Gifts
On the weekend of December 9th
and 10th a display of religious
handmade gifts brought directly
from Christian artists in the Holy
Land will be available in our
church after all Masses. The sale of these items will
generate income to help over 200 Christian families
to maintain their status and presence in Bethlehem,
the place of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Liturgy of the Word…..Christ the King...Nov. 26th
“His dominion is an everlasting dominion.”

The scriptures today define for us what true kingship is. The Lord Jesus roots his kingly ministry
squarely in the truth that comes only from God. As
this liturgical year draws to a close, let our hearts
once again be open to hearing the truth spoken by
Christ the King, whose dominion lasts forever.
The Advent Wreath, a
venerable European tradition, can be a way to involve
even very little children in
learning about Christian
preparation -- not only for
celebrating Our Lord’s birth,
but to make our hearts truly
ready to receive Him.
The wreath’s symbolism of the advent (coming) of
Light into the world is clear. The gradual lighting of the
four candles, one on each Sunday of the Advent season, combined with the liturgical colors of the candles
(purple is the penitential color used during Advent ;
rose is the liturgical color used only on Gaudete Sunday (3rd Sunday) in Advent) help to symbolize not
only our expectation and hope in Our Savior’s first
coming into the world, but also his Second Coming as
Judge at the end of the world.
The wreathe itself is also symbolic. The circle of evergreen in which the candles are placed represents
everlasting life.
On the first Sunday of Advent, the wreathe is sprinkled with holy water and is blessed before the first
purple candle is lit. The appropriate Advent prayer is
said as the candle is lit. The second Sunday two purple candles are lit; the third Sunday, two purple and
one rose; and all four candles are lit on the fourth
Sunday.
On Christmas Day, all the greens and decorations
are replaced with fresh ones, and four new white candles, symbolizing Christ, replace the colored ones and
are burned throughout the Christmas season.

Exámenes de conciencia. - Tratarás de recordar todos
los pecados que hubieres cometido después de la última confesión bien hecha. Si hubieres cometido pecados graves, pensarás cuántas veces los has repetido más
o menos en un mes, en una semana en un día. Si la
última vez te confesaste mal callando pecados graves
por vergüenza, dirás hoy al Padre que la última vez te
confesaste mal y le dirás aquel pecado que te has callado.
Luego pregúntate: ¿Cuánto tiempo hace que me confesé por última vez? ¿Lo hice bien? ¿Olvidé algún pecado grave? ¿Callé alguno a sabiendas? ¿Cumplí la penitencia que me dio el confesor?
1er Mandamiento: ¿Recé mis oraciones de la mañana y
de la noche? - ¿Estudié bien el catecismo? - ¿Creí en
cosas supersticiosas? ¿en brujerías?
2º Mandamiento- ¿Juré sin necesidad o con mentira? ¿Dije palabras malas o injuriosas contra Dios, la Santísima Virgen o los Santos?
3er Mandamiento y Primer Precepto de la Iglesia: ¿He
faltado a misa los domingos o fiestas de guardar? - ¿He
llegado muy tarde? - ¿Cuántas veces? - ¿He estado en

Terminado el examen de conciencia rezarás el Señor
mío Jesucristo... Yo pecador, con la cabeza inclinada.
Acusación.- Comenzarás la confesión diciendo: Bendecidme Padre, porque he pecado, me presentare a
sacerdote diciendo soy soltero, soy casado por la iglesia. Hace (di el tiempo, semanas o meses, que no te has
confesado). Me acusó de (y seguirás diciendo todos tus
pecados sin dejar ninguno a sabiendas). Escucha bien
lo que diga el confesor y responde a todas las preguntas
que te haga. Mientras el sacerdote te da la absolución
junta las manos, inclina la cabeza y reza devotamente
el Señor mío Jesucristo... y después de la confesión
cumplirás la penitencia impuesta por el confesor.

Wypominki
W każdą niedzielę miesiąca listopada przed Mszą Świętą o
godzinie 10.30 są czytane „wypominki” za dusze śp. zmarłych
naszych krewnych, przyjaciół, dobroczyńców i znajomych.
Zapraszamy również wszystkie dzieci lubiące śpiewać na próby naszego chórku dziecięcego, które odbywają się w każdy wtorek

Czy jest możliwe iść do spowiedzi i Komunii świętej w
momencie, gdy żyje się z kimś bez ślubu. ?
Kościół na różne sposoby dba o wspólnotę swoich
wiernych. Zadaniem pasterzy Kościoła jest troska o
czystość wiary i obyczajów. Dlatego też przyjmuje się
pewne zasady, które wierni winni przestrzegać. Zasady
te bowiem chronią całą grupę przed ewentualnym
zgorszeniem, utratą (osłabieniem) wiary, rozluźnieniem
życia religijnego... Kościół bardzo poważnie traktuje
związek małżeński, a co za tym idzie sprawy związane
ze współżyciem seksualnym. Chodzi bowiem o odpowiedzialność przed sobą, drugą osobą, wspólnotą,
Bogiem. Jeśli ktoś nie spełnia podstawowych warunków, które dopuszczają każdego ochrzczonego do
korzystania z pewnych uprawnień w Kościele, to wtedy
mamy do czynienia z zawieszeniem. Np. osoby, które
są w tzw. wolnych związkach pozbawia się możliwości
przystępowania do sakramentu Eucharystii. Tego typu
sankcje nie należy odbierać, jako karę (ktoś mnie
skrzywdził), ale jako szczególny sygnał wskazujący na
potrzebę zmiany - jeśli oczywiście ktoś chce w pełni
uczestniczyć w życiu Kościoła. Czasami zdarza się, iż
osoba jest bardzo religijna i ma dużą świadomość
obecności Jezusa w Ciele Eucharystycznym. Niemożność przystąpienia do Komunii w takim przypadku
może być bardzo bolesna. Ale jest to wtedy dodatkowy
bodziec do zmiany swojego postępowania. I właśnie o
taką postawę chodzi. Sytuacje życiowe czasami są
bardzo skomplikowane. Nie zawsze ludzie chcą, lub
nie zawsze potrafią dokonać przełomu. Wtedy nadal
należą do wspólnoty Kościoła, nadal są zobowiązani
do wychowania dzieci w duchu wiary... i nadal Kościół
się o nich troszczy.
Donacje
Chcielibyśmy poinformować że jeśli ktoś
jest w wieku siedemdziesięciu i pół roku
lub starszy i otrzymuje opodatkowane
IRA tzw. „Taxable IRA distribution” może w pełni odpisać od podatków charytatywną donację do $100,000. Jest to możliwe o ile ta suma jest
dodana do dochodu całkowitego na formie podatkowej. Donacja ta może być wielokrotna o ile nie przekracza limitu $ 100,000.
Chcielibyśmy przez to zaprosić aby państwo wzięli to
pod uwagę przy składaniu donacji dla naszej parafii
Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej w Cicero.

Kurs przed Chrztem
dziecka
Przypominamy, że w każdą trzecią niedzielę miesiąca w naszej parafii po
Mszy św. o godz. 10.30
odbywa się kurs przygotowujący rodziców i
chrzestnych do chrztu
dziecka.
Osoby zamierzające ochrzcić dziecko w naszej
parafii są proszone o zgłoszenie się na ten kurs
prze chrztem dziecka. Dlatego należy pamiętać,
aby:
► zgłosić się do kancelarii parafialnej przynajmniej półtora miesiąca prze chrztem. (Aby
uczestniczyć w kursie przygotowującym)
► Przy zapisaniu chrztu jest wymagany akt urodzenia dziecka.

Tak jak w każdą niedzielę tak również i dzisiaj
wychodząc z kościoła można nabyć nowy numer
Tygodnika Katolickiego „Niedziela”. Znajdziemy
tam bardzo ciekawe artykuły na temat życia
kościoła w Polsce także naszej Archidiecezji.
Czytając ten tygodnik a także inne publikacje np.
„Różaniec”, „Anioł stróż”, „Rodzina Radia Maryja” pogłębiamy naszą wiarę oraz miłość do Boga
i Kościoła.
Jest także do wzięcia za darmo gazeta „Katolik” wydawana
przez naszą Archidiecezję Chicago

W tym tygodniu przypada Pierwszy Piątek Miesiąca. Tradycyjnie już od godziny
9-tej rano, odwiedziny chorych przez kapłana. Wieczorem o godz. 7.00 Msza św.
