God’s Plan for Growing Up
In Chicago, the Family Ministries Office sponsors
the Mother-Daughter Program on Sunday, November 2 from 2:30PM to 5PM at Catholic Charities 721
North Lasalle as an outreach of the Natural Family
Planning ministry. The program explores God’s
special gift of human fertility and the beauty and
wonder of growing up and becoming a woman. Top-
ics include:
► Physical and emotional changes in a young woman’s body in
preparation for motherhood
► Functions of the female reproductive system
► The sacredness of human life
► The virtue of chastity
► A confidential question and answer segment.
This program provides an atmosphere of love and learning in which to
discuss the important topic of growing up, and to establish a foundation
for continued communication between parent and child. The presentations emphasize respect, understanding, and appreciation for God’s
gifts While it is designed for girls ages nine through twelve, girls
younger than nine who are already developing and showing signs of
puberty are also welcome to attend. The cost is $15 per person. To

“Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar
and to God what belongs to God.”
None of us needs to be reminded about
what it means to “repay to “Caesar.” We see
the deductions in our paycheck stubs often
enough! Perhaps these words from today’s
Gospel are meant to remind us of what it
means to repay to God “what belongs to
God.” Take a deep breath. You have just experienced once again
what it means to be a living, breathing human being. And it was
God who created you! To give back to God what is God’s means to
give your very life to God. Of course, this doesn’t mean sacrificing
yourself to God by doing something like throwing yourself into a
flaming volcano. What it does mean is that your attitudes and actions show that you are a person forever grateful for the free gift of
life given by our Creator. Living life with a grateful heart is not some
kind of sweet “pie in the sky” attitude. Living life in this way is the
way of the good steward who sees everything as a reflection of
God’s generous love. Think about one way that you can live your
life as a person with a grateful heart.
Traditionally, the church has dedicated November to the holy
souls. If you would like to remember the souls of your departed
loved ones, please take an All Souls Day envelope home with
you today. The feast of All Souls will be celebrated on Sunday,
November 2nd. Your loved ones will be remembered in all of the
Masses on this day and also throughout the year.

Promises Our Lady gave for praying
the Most Holy Rosary:
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve Me
by the recitation of the Rosary, shall
receive signal graces.
2. The Rosary shall be a powerful
armor against hell, it will destroy vice,
decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
It will cause virtue and good works to flourish, it will obtain for
souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of
men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them
to the desire of eternal things.
The soul which recommends itself to Me by the recitation of the
Rosary , shall not perish.
Whoever shall recite the Rosary, devoutly, applying oneself to
the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune.
Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die
without the Sacraments of the Church.
Those who are faithful in reciting the Rosary shall have during
their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of
His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the
merits of the saints in paradise.
I shall deliver from purgatory, those who have been devoted to
the Rosary.
You shall obtain all you ask of Me by the recitation of the Rosary.
I have obtained from My Divine Son, that all the advocates of
the Rosary shall have for intercessors, the entire celestial court
during their life and at the hour of death.

XXIX Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
En aquel tiempo, se retiraron los fariseos y llegaron a un acuerdo para comprometer a Jesús con
una pregunta. Le enviaron unos discípulos, con
unos partidarios de Herodes, y le dijeron: Maestro, sabemos que eres sincero y que enseñas el
camino de Dios conforme a la verdad; sin que te
importe nadie, porque no miras lo que la gente
sea. Dinos, pues, qué opinas: ¿es lícito pagar impuesto al César o no? Comprendiendo su mala
voluntad, les dijo Jesús: Hipócritas, ¿por qué me
tentáis? Enseñadme la moneda del impuesto. Le
presentaron un denario. Él les preguntó: ¿De
quién son esta cara y esta inscripción? Le respondieron: Del César. Entonces les replicó: Pues pagadle al César lo que es del César y a Dios lo que
es de Dios.

La batalla espiritual
Hay que situar la batalla contra el aborto en su verdadera perspectiva: como una batalla espiritual. Quisiera que quedara claro que la
batalla no es directamente o principalmente contra seres humanos o
contra ideologías y movimientos humanos. La batalla es contra
Satanás mismo. El capítulo 6 de la carta a los Efesios, versículo 10,
dice:
"Por lo demás fortaleceos en el Señor y en la fuerza de su poder.
Revestíos de las armas de Dios para poder resistir las acechanzas
del diablo. Porque nuestra lucha no es contra la carne y la sangre,
sino contra los principados, contra los potestades, contra los dominadores de este mundo tenebroso, contra los espíritus del mal que
están en las alturas. Por eso tomad las armas de Dios, para que
podáis resistir en el día malo. Y después de haber vencido todo,
manteneros firmes".
Si no tomamos las armas espirituales de la oración, el ayuno, la
disciplina cristiana, la conversión, la aceptación de Jesucristo como
nuestro Señor y Salvador; jamás vamos a impedir el aborto ni sus
consecuencias. Un arma muy especial en este contexto, no la única,
pero muy especial, es el Rosario. Hago un llamado en este momento a todos, sobre todo a los cristianos, a que vuelvan al Señor. No
solamente conviértanse en pro vida, sino también en pro-Jesucristo.
Es el único que nos puede dar la victoria, de hecho ya la logró. Ya
Jesús aplastó a Satanás (véase Juan 12:31), pero nosotros tenemos
que estar del lado de la victoria, al final cuando El venga.
Esta otra es también una importante arma espiritual: el apoyo mutuo, el crear grupos de apoyo en los cuales podamos orar juntos,
compartir la palabra de Dios, compartir estos temas y animarnos
mutuamente…

Estimados Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo,
Cada año nosotros celebramos el Domingo
Mundial de las Misiones en el tercer domingo de octubre. Este año, 2008, la Iglesia en los Estados Unidos marca el 100
aniversario en el que nuestro país no es un
territorio de misión. En 1908, fue decidido
que habíamos alcanzado un punto de autosuficiencia como la Iglesia Católica en los Estados Unidos.
Nuestro aniversario marca como nosotros celebramos nuestra
rica historia misional y reflejamos con gratitud en la deuda que le
debemos a los misioneros que viajaron aquí y a los católicos que
apoyaron sus esfuerzos con las Sociedades Pontificias de la Misión.
El Segundo Vaticano Concilio nos recordó que todos somos misioneros por virtud desde nuestro Bautismo. Somos llamados a
proclamar a Cristo a todas las personas por nuestras palabras,
pero más importante por nuestras vidas. Hoy oramos para los
misioneros a través del mundo y les ofrecemos nuestro apoyo
financiero como manera de compartir en la misión de la Iglesia.
En este Año de San Pablo, el Papa Benedicto XVI nos ha desafiado a imitar el afán de San Pablo y dedicarnos de nuevo al trabajo de la misión en nuestro hogar, el vecindario, el lugar de
trabajo y dondequiera que nos encontremos. Cada día debemos
permitir que la Palabra de Dios nos transforme nuestras vidas
hasta el punto que nosotros demos un testigo compulsivo al amor
de Cristo. Amor debe ser el motivo para nuestra participación en
la misión de Cristo, y, como Pablo, nosotros necesitamos emular
la compasión, la ternura, el cuidado y la disponibilidad del Señor
en cuyos pasos seguimos; entonces seremos verdaderamente
"sirvientes y apóstoles en Jesucristo".
La Iglesia existe para la misión, y numerosas personas esperan la
proclamación del Evangelio. Su apoyo a la Sociedad Pontificia
de la Misión es un signo de nuestra comunión con él Cuerpo
Místico de Cristo. Es una comunión que necesita ser extendida
por la misión. Oren para que todos los misioneros sean embajadores auténticos de Cristo. Vivan con un sentido profundo de la
misión para que la luz de Cristo pueda brillar brillantemente en
todas las personas. Gracias y que Dios los bendiga.

nie? Jezus przejrzał ich przewrotność i rzekł: Czemu Mnie wystawiacie na próbę, obłudnicy? Pokażcie Mi monetę podatkową! Przynieśli Mu denara.
On ich zapytał: Czyj jest ten obraz i napis? Odpowiedzieli: Cezara. Wówczas rzekł do nich: Oddajcie więc Cezarowi to, co należy do Cezara, a Bogu
to, co należy do Boga.

W miesiącu październiku w każdą niedzielę
przed Mszą św. o godzinie 10:05AM jest
odmawiany Różaniec święty. Serdecznie
zapraszamy do wspólnej modlitwy.
Wypominki
Zbliża się miesiąc listopad. W tym czasie
będziemy wspominali wszystkich wiernych
zmarłych. Koperty na wypominki znajdują
się przy drzwiach kościoła. Prosimy o wyraźne wypisanie imion i nazwisk wiernych
zmarłych. Koperty można składać do koszyka wraz z niedzielną kolekta. Msze św.
w tych intencjach zostaną odprawione dnia 2 listopada jak
również w ciągu całego roku.
Czuwanie nocne
W najbliższą sobotę, 25 października odbędzie
się jak co miesiąc czuwanie nocne w naszym
kościele Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej. Rozpoczęcie czuwania o godz. 7:00 wieczorem. W
programie czuwania m.in. nabożeństwo Drogi
Krzyżowej, Różaniec oraz ok. 9:30 wieczorem
Msza św. Podczas czuwania będzie możliwość
skorzystania z sakramentu pokuty.

Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie,
W każdą trzecią niedzielę października obchodzimy na całym świecie
Niedzielę Misyjną.
W tym roku przypada 100 lat, od kiedy Kościół w Stanach Zjednoczonych stał się samowystarczalny, a
tym samym przestał być terenem misyjnym. Wspominając tę rocznicę chcemy celebrować naszą bogatą historię misyjną i zastanowić się nad tym ile zawdzięczamy misjonarzom, którzy przybyli tutaj oraz Katolikom,
którzy wspierali ich wysiłki poprzez Papieskie Dzieła
Misyjne.
Sobór Watykański II przypomniał nam, że jesteśmy
misjonarzami od chrztu św., który otrzymaliśmy w Kościele świętym. Dlatego też, wszyscy jesteśmy wezwani
do głoszenia Chrystusa poprzez nasze słowa, ale jeszcze
bardziej przez nasze życie.
Dzisiaj modlimy się za wszystkich misjonarzy na całym
świecie i chcemy ich wspomóc finansowo, aby w ten
sposób mieć udział w dziele misyjnym Kościoła.
W tym roku, który obchodzony jest jako Rok św. Pawła, Papież Benedykt XVI zachęca nas do naśladowania
jego gorliwości i zaangażowania się w pracę misyjną w
naszych domach, miejscach pracy i gdziekolwiek jesteśmy.
Każdego dnia musimy pozwolić Słowu Bożemu przemieniać nasze życie do tego stopnia, abyśmy się stawali
