SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM:
Baptism is celebrated each Sunday immediately after the
11:45 Mass. Registration and Parental instruction are required
before Baptism. Please call the Rectory for an appointment
several weeks before the desired date.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE:
Marriages are to be arranged at least six months in advance,
and prior to any social arrangements. Pre-Cana Conferences
required. Schedule is given during the first appointment with
the priest.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK & VISITATION OF THE SICK:
Please call the rectory to arrange for the Sacrament of the Sick
and Communion to be brought to the sick and shut- ins.

FAMILY CONNECTION
The tradition of giving gifts at Christmas is thought
by some to be rooted in the gift giving of the Magi. In
many cultures, gifts are not exchanged at Christmas,
but rather on the feast of the Epiphany. Whenever
you exchange your Christmas gifts, take some time to
reflect on this tradition of gift giving at Christmas.
Think of the best gift you have received. What was
it? What made it special? Was it the gift itself, the
thought that went into it, or the person who gave it to
you? The gifts of the Magi—gold, frankincense, and
myrrh—have come to be understood as symbols of
Christ's royalty, divinity, and eventual suffering and
death. They are special because in giving them, the
Magi acknowledge who Jesus was to be: our Savior.
We pray that we will acknowledge Jesus as Savior in
all that we do and say.

PARTNERS IN THE PROMISE
As a society, during these days we can be in something of a “postpartum” depression. Our celebrations
of Christmas and the New Year are over, and after
today many of us will put away the decorations and
the last visible remnants of the celebrations of the
past weeks. The apostle Paul today uses the
expression “partners in the promise.” This is an
uplifting phrase for us to reflect upon, and to think of
as our own calling in these days following the birth of
the Lord. What is this promise? We can find it in the
gifts the magi bring: it is a promise of being a royal
priesthood (gold), a holy nation (frankincense), a
people set apart for self-giving (myrrh). We find
more of the promise in Isaiah—a light shines upon
us! In the psalm we know a promise of a world of
flowering justice, profound peace, the poor rescued,
pity for the lowly and the poor. This is the promise;
and one of the best ways for us to lift ourselves out of
any possible low spirits we may be suffering is to live
out our partnership in this promise each and every

Rodziny 28 grudnia 2014 roku
Umiłowani w Chrystusie Panu, Siostry i Bracia!
Trwamy w atmosferze radosnego zachwytu nad
miłością Boga do człowieka. Oto Bóg wcielony, Jezus
Chrystus, wybrał ludzką rodzinę, aby przyjść do
każdego człowieka i nauczyć go miłować. Skoro
Chrystus nie bał się miłości, co więcej, w pełni
objawił człowiekowi prawdę o Bogu, który jest
miłością to i my, ludzie wierzący, chcemy w tę
Niedzielę Świętej Rodziny odkrywać prawdę o
Miłości. WLiście do Rodzin św. Jan Paweł II pisał:
„Syn Jednorodzony, współistotny Ojcu, ‹Bóg z Boga i
Światłość ze Światłości›, wszedł w dzieje ludzi przez
rodzinę: ‹przez wcielenie swoje zjednoczył się jakoś z
każdym człowiekiem. Ludzkimi rękami pracował, (…)
ludzkim sercem kochał, urodzony z Maryi Dziewicy,
stał się prawdziwie jednym z nas, we wszystkim do
nas podobny oprócz grzechu›” (Gaudium et spes, 22).
Tak, Bóg naprawdę zamieszkał pośród nas, w naszych
rodzinach.
1. Rodzina – miejsce kształtowania się
człowieczeństwa
Dzięki Bożej Opatrzności przeżywaliśmy w tym roku
w dniach 5 – 19 października III Nadzwyczajny Synod
Biskupów, podczas którego Ojcowie synodalni,
zjednoczeni z Ojcem Świętym, przypomnieli, że
Ewangelia o rodzinie stanowi istotne przesłanie
Kościoła. Jego nieprzerwane nauczanie przypomina,
że rodzina jest miejscem poznawania wiary, dzielenia
się sobą i budowania najtrwalszych relacji. Rodzina,
która bierze swój początek w sakramencie małżeństwa
jest ciągle dla wielu młodych największym
pragnieniem życia. Bóg pragnie szczęścia człowieka i
dlatego chce, aby małżonkowie obdarowali się sobą i
przyjęli siebie wzajemnie w rodzinie, aby nowe życie,
owoc miłości małżeńskiej, poczynało się w
środowisku najbardziej mu przyjaznym.
Ojcowie synodalni zwracają uwagę, że proces
wychowania człowieka nie odbywa się samoistnie.
Potrzeba dojrzałych w wierze rodziców, potrzeba
świadectwa małżonków i całych rodzin, aby
Ewangelia o rodzinie była przekazywana z radością i
miłością wszystkim, zwłaszcza tym, których dotknął
kryzys wiary, którzy znajdują się w trudnej sytuacji
