Envelopes have been sent to all parishioners. If you
did not get one...or need an additional one, they are
found at the back of both the Church and Auditorium
and at the Rectory. What a wonderful way to
remember our family members, friends and fellow
parishioners at Mass beginning on All Souls Day,
November 2nd. To have someone remembered, fill
out the envelope and return it to the Rectory or place
it in our regular collection. Masses will be celebrated
for their intention each day until November 10th.

which has a foundation in honoring our Blessed Mother. Our monthly meetings
are from September to June at which time we take great pleasure in coming
together to plan special devotions, various fund raisers, decorate our Altars
for special occasions (With your generous support) and take care of the Mass

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY
COLLECTION
This Sunday, World Mission Sunday, our Father, Pope
Francis, calls every Catholic to celebrate at the Eucharist, our vocation to be missionary and to help the
Missions. As Catholics around the world, here at
home and in the Missions, gather at the Eucharistic
table, let us pray for the Church’s worldwide mission
and offer financial help through the Propagation of
the Faith for more than 1,150 dioceses in Asia, Africa,
Latin America and the Pacific Islands.

Protecting God's Children
VIRTUS TRAINING for OLA Volunteers, will be offered
on October 19th, in Room 2 of the Religious Education
Building from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Register on-line at
www.drvc.org Virtus On-line.
Please contact Pam Fitzgerald at (516) 551-2494 for
more information. As a reminder, all NEW parish volunteers must have a background screening check.
Forms are available in the Rectory Office.
IMPORTANT: You MUST pre-register on-line, there
will be no walk-ins. If you do not have access to a
computer or are having trouble signing in, please stop
by the Rectory Office and Ana or Kim will be happy to
assist you.
OUTREACH CENTER
The Knights of Columbus are continuing their food drive
which is to benefit our Outreach Center. They already collected almost 1000 pounds of food over these past two
rainy Fridays! Can you believe how generous people are?
They will be collecting food Fridays, 10/23 and 10/30, so if
you are at the Amityville Stop & Shop on Montauk Highway
on those evenings, please look for our Knights!
We are trying to set up a Healthy Shelf pantry. If you would
like to donate canned foods which are no salt or sugar
added, lite, etc. that would be greatly appreciated. Our
pantry needs are: canned sweet potatoes, spaghetti
sauce, macaroni and cheese, rice, bath soap and toilet
tissue.

MINISTRY OF CONSOLATION
The mission of the Ministry of Consolation is to
walk with and support with loving care those
who are grieving for lost loved ones.
The Ministry of Consolation is looking for volunteers to help with funeral preparations.
Duties would include:
-Contacting the bereaved family to
set up a meeting.
-To complete funeral forms for infor
mation pertaining to the deceased.
-Return funeral forms to the Rectory.
-Notify the Rectory for booklets.
-Contact one of the cake bakers.
-Attend the funeral Mass.
*They are also in need of bakers*

“El que siembra escasamente, escasamente también segará; y

segará. Que cada uno dé como propuso en su corazón, no de
mala gana ni por obligación, porque Dios ama al dador alegre” (2 Corintios 9: 6, 7b)
25 jóvenes de nuestra parroquia viajarán en Julio del
próximo año al Día Mundial de la Juventud en Krakow,
Polonia. Esta es una magnifica oportunidad para enriquecer su fe mientras asisten a eventos de evangelización,
conciertos, reuniones juveniles y a la Santa Misa con el
Papa. También es tiempo para aprender sobre la historia
de Polonia y Europa, al mismo tiempo que visitan diferentes sitios históricos tales como Krakow, Wieliczka, Salt
Mines, Auschiwitz, Częstochowa, Wadowice y otros. Y
por supuesto es tiempo para hacer nuevos amigos de todas
partes del mundo. El costo total del viaje es alrededor
de $2700. Ya que no todos los jóvenes que se han anotado para el viaje pueden pagar el total de los gastos, yo
gentilmente les pido su apoyo financiero. Por favor, sea
un patrocinador de nuestro viaje. Cada donativo cuenta

Matka Boża Wniebowzięta
Czy martwią Was problemy takie jak np. rosnąca nienawiść,
napięcia rasowe, przestępczość, przemoc, brak moralności,
aborcja, czy eutanazja? Są to problemy narastające w
dzisiejszym świecie. Wiele z nich przeciwstawia się dobroci

ZA BLISKICH ZMARŁYCH
Do wszystkich naszych parafian zostały rozesłane
koperty, w których należy składać ofiary na wypominkimodlitwę za bliskich zmarłych. Jeżeli ktoś tych kopert
nie otrzymał lub potrzebuje dodatkowych kopert, może
je znaleźć przy wejściu do kościoła i w audytorium.
Począwszy od Mszy św. w Dniu Zadusznym, 2go
listopada, wspominać będziemy bliskch zmarłych z
naszych rodzin, przyjaciół i znajomych. Wypełnione
koperty z imieniem i nazwiskiem zmarłych należy
przynieść do kancelarii parafialnej lub złożyć do
koszyka z kolektą. Msze św. w intencjach zmarłych
odprawiane będą codziennie od 2 do 10 listopada.

Komitet Szacunku dla Życia zachęca wszystkich parafian do jednoczenia się w modlitwie oraz do wzięcia
udziału w specjalnym programie na rzecz ochrony życia
poczętego.
W miesiącu obrony życia łączmy się we wspólnej modlitwie. Każde życie jest święte i zasługuje na szacunek.
Program polega na tym, że każdego dnia w trzech parafiach (jednej z każdego wikariatu) będzie odbywała się
Adoracja Eucharystyczna oraz będzie odmawiany Różaniec w intencji Ochrony Życia Poczętego.

Przyjmujemy intencje na msze św. na rok 2016. Ofiara
za intencję wynosi $15. Intencje należy zamawiać w

Rycerze Kolumba kontynuują zbiórkę żywności dla
uboższych rodzin/osób z naszej wspólnoty. W najbliższe
dwa piątki wieczorem (23 i 30 października) będą oni stać
przy drzwiach sklepu Stop &Shop w Amityville. Jeżeli
będziecie robić tam wówczas zakupy , to prosimy Was o
ofiarowanie im produktów żywnościowych.
Prosimy Was o zdrową żywność. Jeżeli chcielibyście
podarować nam produkty w puszkach, to jeżeli to możliwe,
prosimy o produkty bez dodatku cukru lub soli, o obniżonej
kaloryczności, itp. Prosimy także o słodkie ziemniaki w

The Son of Man came to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Today, both our first and second reading
focus on Jesus, but from opposite perspectives.
Isaiah foretells Jesus as the “suffering servant . . .
who shall justify many” while St. Paul is looking
back and fitting Jesus into the prophecy of Isaiah.
I always find today’s Gospel story
amusing. Who would walk up to a teacher and
say “I want you to do whatever I ask of you”?
The teacher usually tells the student what to do!
However, Jesus uses the bold question to lead
the disciples into a deeper reality. He will suffer,
and they must be ready to suffer with him.
The rest of the disciples shared a very
natural response: they became indignant with
James and John And Jesus gives them another
dose of reality: “whoever wishes to be first
among you will be your servant”.
Here I find two thoughts for further
meditation. First, we must suffer! No one likes
to suffer. Although we hear of some great saints
who wanted to suffer to share the sufferings of
Christ. And secondly, I must be a servant to
everyone else. That’s also not a popular thought.
Maybe, just maybe, we can mean it when we
sing:
Will you let me be your servant,
Let me be as Christ to you?
