Our hard-working ladies in the Clothing Department
have managed to pack away all the summer clothes and
replace the racks with winter items. In doing this they
found that we have a shortage of children’s winter coats,
in fact we have no children’s coats. Once again, I am
going to ask that when you go through your closets,
please keep the kids in mind and that we need coats for
them. We can use men’s jackets and women’s coats, too.
Thank you.
The (hard-working) men in the Food Department are
happy that food is not a seasonal item. They do tell me
that the food is holding up well but they are in need of
canned vegetables. They will kill me for telling you this
but I am anyway. They would like canned corn, carrots
and string beans because that makes such a nice color
combination on the dinner plate. You gotta love them!

ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY
The month of October is dedicated to Our Blessed Virgin
Mother. We encourage our parishioners to take some time
to sit in her presence thanking her for all our blessings.
Please join the Rosary Altar Society in the Church on
Monday, October 7th at 7PM, the Feast Day of Our Lady
of the Rosary. There will be a very short installation of a
new member, followed by the recitation of the Holy
Rosary said in English, Polish and Spanish. Refreshments
will be served in the Lower Church Hall immediately
following this devotion.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process for
1) those Non-Christians who are 18 years of age or older
considering the possibility of becoming Roman Catholic;
2) for those 18 years of age or older, of other Christian
faiths considering the possibility of embracing the Roman
Catholic Church;
3) for baptized Roman Catholics 18 years of age or older
who have not received either the sacrament of the Eucharist
or Confirmation - or both.
Time: 2 hours on Sunday afternoon which will include Mass
and class. Classes will begin in late October and will be
held either from 12noon until 2pm or 1pm until 3pm. If
you have a friend or family member who would be
interested, please contact Deacon Mike or Deacon Phil at
the rectory. An interview must be conducted before classes
begin.

On October 6, 2013, 2:00PM-3:30PM (rain or
shine) there will be a Stand-up for Life Event.

and 25, Huntington, and off the LIE exit 70,
Manorville. STAND UP FOR LIFE is a powerful
witness to the sanctity of life. We are part of
the National Life Chain with over 1700 similar
events occuring the same day throughout the
United States and Canada.

RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY
Sunday, October 6th is Respect Life Sunday. As
we celebrate it, we are reminded that the
assaults on human dignity come in many
forms. The Respect Life Office is charged with
deepening our already strong commitment to
pro-life activities and parish education. Please

WTAJEMNICZENIA DOROSŁYCH
El Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos es el
proceso para:
1) No Cristianos, 18 años de edad o mayores,
considerando la posibilidad de convertirse en
Católicos Romanos.
2) Aquellos de 18 años de edad o mayores, de otra
fe Cristiana, considerando la posibilidad de
abrazar la fe Católica Romana
3) Para bautizados Católicos Romanos ,de 18 años
de edad o mayores, quienes no hayan recibido
el Sacramento de Primera Comunión o
Confirmación, o ambos.
Tiempo: Dos horas los Domingos por la tarde lo cual
incluirá Misa y clase.
Las clases comenzarán al final de Octubre, y serán
ofrecidas en uno de estos horarios: de 12PM a 2PM o
de 1PM a 3PM. Si usted, un pariente o amigo, está
interesado en este programa por favor contacte al
Diácono Mike o Diácono Phil, en la Rectoría. Los

rozpoczęciem zajęć należy umówić się na rozmowę
(interview).
Prosimy Państwa obecnie o używane kurtki zimowe
dla dzieci w dobrym stanie, a także o używane żakiety
męskie i kurtki damskie.

DRUGA KOLEKTA
NIEDZIELA SZACUNKU DLA ŻYCIA
Niedziela, 6 października jest w Kościele w USA
ogłoszona Niedzielą Szacunku dla Życia. W związku z
tym przeprowadzona zostanie druga kolekta, z której
dochód przeznaczony będzie na promocję życia oraz
na pomoc dla samotnych matek. Prosimy o hojność.
“STAŃ DLA ŻYCIA”
W niedzielę - 6 października, w godz. od 14:00 do
15:30 (niezależnie od warunków pogodowych)
odbędzie się także protest “Stand up for Life” (Stań dla
Życia) na drodze 110 i 25 (Jericho Turnpike) w
Huntington oraz przy zjeździe 70 w Manorville.
Zachęcamy Państwa do przyłączenia się do tego
wydarzenia. Tego samego dnia protest ten odbędzie
sie w około 1700 miejscach w USA i Kanadzie.
ADORACJA NAJŚWIĘTSZEGO SAKRAMENTU

W środę - 9 października, w godz: od 19:00 do 20:00
odbędzie się w naszej parafii Adoracja Najświętszego
Sakramentu połączona z modlitwą różańcową (w
trzech językach). Zachęcamy wszystkich do
przyłączenia się do wspólnej modlitwy.
SŁUŻBA LITURGICZNA - SZKOLENIE
Jeśli ktoś pragnie zostać NADZWYCZAJNYM
SZAFARZEM KOMUNII ŚWIĘTEJ, LEKTOREM lub
pomagać w zbieraniu tacy, należy skontaktować
się z Ks. Dariuszem lub Ks. Januszem w kancelarii
parafialnej.
ZAMAWIANIE INTENCJI MSZALNYCH
- Zaczęliśmy już przyjmować intencje mszalne na rok
2014. W celu zamawiania intencji prosimy o
przybywanie do kancelarii parafialnej w godzinach
pracy kancelarii. Ofiara za intencję wynosi $15.
Intencje nie mogą być przyjmowane przez telefon.
- Nadal przyjemujemy intencje na msze św. na rok
bieżący. Zachęcamy do zamawiania mszy w dni
powszednie w języku angielskim - nadal jest wiele
wolnych intencji.
- Można również uczcić pamięć o swoich bliskich
poprzez złożenie Donacji na Chleb i Wino na dany
tydzień w roku 2013 oraz 2014. Donacja wynosi $50.
- Osoba mówiąca po polsku dyżuruje w kancelarii
parafialnej w środy w godz. od 19:30 do 21:00.

KÓŁKO RÓŻAŃCOWE
Październik jest miesiącem poświęconym Matce Bożej
Różańcowej. Pamiętajmy o codziennej modlitwie
różańcowej. Dziękujmy Matce Bożej za łaski, jakimi
nas obdarza.
Zapraszamy naszych parafian do udziału w spotkaniu
Kółka Różańcowego (po angielsku), które odbędzie się
w poniedziałek 7 października w kościele o godz. 19:00
w Uroczystość Matki Bożej Różańcowej. Różaniec
zostanie odwmówiony w trzech językach: angielskim,
polskim i hiszpańskim. Po zakończeniu zapraszamy
wszystkich na poczęstunek do sali pod kościołem.

This week the children of our parish will return to their
religion classes. Let us pray fervently for them that this “gift of
God” will be stirred into a great flame! Let us pray also for their
teachers, that they may have a great flame to share, and for their
parents, who are their first and primary teachers.
It is a well known maxim that “one cannot give what one
does not have”. This makes it of the utmost importance that
parents and teachers have already stirred into flame their own
gift. Otherwise their words to the children will not ring true.
How can a parent or teacher who does not regularly attend Mass
on the weekend expect a student or child to take them seriously
when they are told to do so? If the adults are not showing
respect and love for the Church in their conversations, can we
expect the children to respect and love the Church?
According to statistics, the percentage of Catholics in this
country who are practicing their Faith is very low. The Faith of
many Catholics has been reduced to dying embers!
Our children are the future of this Church. Let us all work
and pray together so that their flames will burn bright.
I am writing this on the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels,
of whom Jesus has said “their angels always look upon the face
of my heavenly Father”.
Perhaps we can make it a practice this year to each day say
a prayer to the children’s’ Guardian Angels, and to our own
Guardian Angel. Let’s set Copiague on fire for God!
