realizacji polityki proekologicznej opracowano m.in. „Strategiê rozwoju ochrony œrodowiska dla powiatu koniñskiego”

zbiórki odpadów na terenie
powiatu koniñskiego”. W
dzia³aj¹cym od 2001 r. Rejonowym Centrum Edukacji
Ekologicznej Zwi¹zku Miêdzygminnego „Koniñski Region Komunalny ” wiedzê o
ochronie œrodowiska poszerza ok. 2,5 tys. osób rocznie.
Organizowane s¹ konferencje, konkursy tematyczne dla
Rezerwat „Mielno”/The Mielno Nature Reserve
rolniczych, leœnych i rekreacyjnych. Powiat koniñski staje siê
miejscem o wyj¹tkowych walorach przyrodniczo-krajobrazowych. W przepiêknych lasach
okalaj¹cych liczne jeziora spotkaæ mo¿na unikalne okazy fauny i flory. Wiele tu cichych, pe³nych uroku zak¹tków, sprzyjaj¹cych wypoczynkowi w kontakcie z natur¹. A¿ 40 proc. terytorium powiatu objête jest
ochrona prawn¹.
m³odzie¿y szkolnej, akcje (np.
Sprz¹tanie Œwiata).
Rezultaty tej pracy zosta³y zauwa¿one i docenione. Starostwo Powiatowe w Koninie
otrzyma³o nominacjê w V edycji Konkursu Ekologicznego
„PrzyjaŸni Œrodowisku” w kategorii promotor ekologii. To
wielkie wyró¿nienie. Najwiêksza nagrod¹ jest jednak widok
coraz piêkniejszej ziemi koniñskiej i satysfakcja z pracy dla niej.

KONIN REGION
The natural environment is especially valued in Konin County
because it was there that the
exploitation of hard coal deposits has brought rapid technical
development in the region and
resulted in unfavorable changes
in the natural environment. At
present, the natural environment in the Konin region is coming back to life. The condition of
soil and air is gradually improving and former strip mines are
being revitalized to serve agricultural, forest and recreational purposes. Konin County is becoming an area with unique natural and landscape properties.
In the beautiful forests surrounding its numerous lakes,
you can find unique species of
fauna and flora. You can also
enjoy several quiet and charming nooks that are natural relaxation spots. As much as 40% of
the county’s territory is legally
protected.

This is obviously the result
of hard and consistent work of
the local authorities. Activities
directed at securing the natural
riches of the land have constituted top priorities for county authorities from the very beginning. In order to implement the
pro-environmental policy, a
„Strategy for the Development
of Environmental Protection in
the Konin County” and the „Program for selective collection of
waste in the Konin County” have
been drawn up. The Regional
Center for Ecological Education
established by the Association of
Municipalities „Municipal Region
of Konin” in 2001 propagates
knowledge on environmental
protection to more than 2,500
people each year. Several conferences, competitions for pupils
and students, and actions, such
as „Clean up the World” have
also been organized.
The results of this work have
already been noticed and appreciated. The Konin County Office
was nominated for the „Environmentally Friendly” Award in the
category of „Promoter of Ecology”, which is a great honor.
However, the highest reward is
seeing the Konin region growing in beauty and the feeling of
satisfaction resulting from working on behalf of the land.
