OUTREACH PROGRAM
Sometimes the breadwinner in the family gets ill and misses
three or four weeks of work. If he/she is paid for sicktime it
is not so devastating, but if there is no income in that time
period things can go down hill pretty fast. Please don’t wait
thinking that you can get out of the hole in no time; this is
rarely the case. You just keep falling behind and get pretty
frustrated in the process. There is a simple remedy
available. Come to the Outreach and we can and will help
you. We can give you food and clothing and school supplies
to ease your expenses and free up your food money for your
bills...and that is just the beginning.
We are here to be your advocate and we take our job very
seriously. If you are still not sure if we can help you, just
stop in or call and ask to speak to the coordinator.
The Food Pantry needs canned vegetables, soup (preferably
with the pop top covers), small cans of fruit, peanut butter
and jelly and breakfast bars.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process for
1) those Non-Christians who are 18 years of age or older
considering the possibility of becoming Roman Catholic;
2) for those 18 years of age or older, of other Christian
faiths considering the possibility of embracing the Roman
Catholic Church;
3) for baptized Roman Catholics 18 years of age or older
who have not received either the sacrament of the Eucharist
or Confirmation - or both.
Time: 2 hours on Sunday afternoon which will include Mass
and class. Classes will begin in late October and will be
held either from 12noon until 2pm or 1pm until 3pm. If
you have a friend or family member who would be
interested, please contact Deacon Mike or Deacon Phil at
the rectory. An interview must be conducted before classes
begin.

El Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos es el
proceso para:
1) No Cristianos, 18 años de edad o mayores,
considerando la posibilidad de convertirse en
Católicos Romanos.
2) Aquellos de 18 años de edad o mayores, de otra
fe Cristiana, considerando la posibilidad de
abrazar la fe Católica Romana
3) Para bautizados Católicos Romanos ,de 18 años

el Sacramento de Primera Comunión o
Confirmación, o ambos.
Tiempo: Dos horas los Domingos por la tarde lo cual

WTAJEMNICZENIA DOROSŁYCH
Obrzęd chrześcijańskiego wtajemniczenia dorosłych
jest procesem dla:
1) osób nie będących chrześcijanami w wieku lat 18
lub powyżej, rozważających możliwość przystąpienia
do Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego,
2) chrześcijan innych wyznań w wieku lat 18 lub
powyżej , rozważających możliwość przystąpienia do
Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego,
3) ochrzczonych członków Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego w wieku lat 18 lub powyżej, którzy nie otrzymałi sakramentu Eucharystii lub Bierzmowania - lub
obu sakramentów.
Czas: dwie godziny w niedzielne popołudnia, które
obejmą Mszę św. oraz pogadankę. Zajęcia rozpoczną
się pod koniec października i będą odbywały się w
godz: 12:00 - 14:00 lub 13:00 - 15:00. Jeżeli ktoś z
Państwa przyjaciół lub członków rodzin byłby zainteresowany, to prosimy o skontaktowanie się z Diakonem Mike’m lub Diakonem Philem w kancelarii

PROGRAM POMOCY SOCJLANEJ
Rodziny znajdujące się w trudnej sytuacji finansowej mogą
zwracać się do nas po pomoc. Może to np. dotyczyć
sytuacji, w której główny żywiciel rodziny z powodu
choroby lub utrarty pracy przez pewien czas pozostaje bez
pracy i płacy. W zależności od okoliczności, Program
Pomocy, może pomóc np. przy opłacie czynszu za jeden
miesiąc i ofiarowac żywność, odzież oraz artykuły szkolne.
Jeżeli ktoś potrzebuje pomocy, ale nie jest pewny czy może
ją otrzymać, może przyjść na rozmowę z koordynatorem
programu w naszym parafialnym biurze.
W naszym magazynie z żywnością potrzebujemy obecnie
warzyw w puszkach, zup w puszkach (jeżeli to możliwe to
z otwieraczem na wieczku), owoców w małych puszkach,
masła orzechowego, dżemów oraz batonów śniadaniowych.

ZAMAWIANIE INTENCJI MSZALNYCH
Jak wszyscy wiecie, na mszach świętych po polsku
mamy zbiorowe intencje. Dla dobrego porządku został
ustalony pewien limit co do liczby intencji na jednej
mszy. Jest to na ogół 10 intencji. Ostatnio jednak
pojawiło się dziwne zjawisko dawania na intencję
mszalną w ostatniej chwili lub przekazywania kopert z
intencjami przez osoby trzecie, co powoduje, że często
mamy większą ilośc intencji niż założony limit, a także
wielki bałagan w sposobie zamawiania intencji.
Dlatego bardzo Was prosimy o zamawianie intencji
mszalnych w kancelarii parafilanej. Nie będziemy
mogli przyjmować intencji bezpośrednio przed
mszą św. ani przez osoby trzecie, poza przypadkami
nagłymi jak np. śmierć kogoś bliskiego. Urodziny czy
rocznica śmierci nie są przypadkami nagłymi. Prosimy
abyście o takich intencjach pomyśleli dużo wcześniej.
Bardzo Was prosimy aby przestrzegać tych reguł dla
dobra nas wszystkich.
- Zaczęliśmy już przyjmować intencje mszalne na rok
2014. W celu zamawiania intencji prosimy o
przybywanie do kancelarii parafialnej w godzinach
pracy kancelarii. Ofiara za intencję wynosi $15.
Intencje nie mogą być przyjmowane przez telefon.
- Nadal przyjmujemy intencje na msze św. na rok
bieżący. Zachęcamy do zamawiania mszy w dni
powszednie w języku angielskim - nadal jest wiele
wolnych intencji.
- Można również uczcić pamięć o swoich bliskich
poprzez złożenie Donacji na Chleb i Wino na dany
tydzień w roku 2013 oraz 2014. Donacja wynosi $50.
- Osoba mówiąca po polsku dyżuruje w kancelarii
parafialnej w środy w godz. od 19:30 do 21:00 oraz w
soboty w godz. od 9:00 do 11:00.
MSZE ŚW. RODZINNE w języku angielskim zostaną
odprawione w niedziele, o godz. 10:30 w kościele, w
następujących terminach: 20 października, 17 listopada oraz 15 grudnia 2013.

NASTĘPNA NIEDZIELA - 20 PAŹDZIERNIKA
ŚWIATOWY DZIEŃ MISYJNY
Wnstępną niedzielę Kościół Katolicki obchodzi Światowy
Dzień Misyjny. W tym dniu szczególnie łączymy sie z
wszystkimi kościołami na całym świecie we wspólnej
modlitwie o powołania i ewangelizację ludów
niechrześcijańskich. Druga taca z tej niedzieli zostanie
przekazana na wsparcie instytucji misyjnych (szpitale,
szkoły, centra edukacyjne, kościoły) w krajach
rozwijających się. Włączmy się w to dzieło hojnie
wspomagając naszych braci i siotry w wierze modlitwą i
pomocą finansową.

TO WHOM DO WE SAY THANKS?
In most families, the first words every child is taught to say after “Mommy”
and “Daddy” are “please” and “thank you”. This is the beginning of a great life
lesson we call gratitude.
Today’s readings give us two examples of gratitude: Naaman the leper
whom Elisha had been instrumental in curing, and the Samaritan whom Jesus had
cured of his leprosy.
Naaman was sincerely grateful; he “returned with his whole retinue” to
thank Elisha. But his gratitude was misdirected. When Elisha refused his gifts,
Naaman realized his error and offered sacrifice to the true God.
In the Gospel reading, Jesus cures ten lepers, but only one returns to thank
him. Jesus asks “where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to
give thanks to God?” Jesus desires our gratitude, and accepts it, because he is
God.
Do we thank God for all he has given us: life, faith, family and friends?
When something good happens, does our mind first turn to God? Or do we see it
as a “happy coincidence”?
God’s greatest gift to us is his son, Jesus. And for this gift we owe our
greatest gratitude. We return this gratitude when we offer Jesus to the Father each
time we are present at Mass.
“It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere
to give you thanks, Father Most Holy, through your beloved Son, Jesus
Christ . . . (from the Preface before Eucharistic Prayer II)
Our weekend Mass attendance shouldn’t be a chore, but something we look
forward to all week, a chance to say Thank You in the only worthy way.
Let us take to heart the words of St. Paul:
In all circumstances give thanks,
For this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

THE UNIVERSAL CALL TO PRAYER
Today God’s Word impresses on us the necessity of prayer. The first reading from Exodus tells us of Moses praying for Joshua in battle. Joshua succeeded only when Moses continued his prayer for his people. This is a good reminder to pray for our country, especially in today’s moral struggles. The Gospel reading is the story of the persistent widow and the dishonest judge. The message is that the judge finally grants the widow her request because she will not stop annoying him. That is not a very noble reason for acting. Jesus then proposes “Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night?” This statement has always bothered me. I do not want God answering my prayers because I am annoying him! I would like to think that God answers my prayers because he loves me and wants what is best for me. And I know this to be true. So I have to conclude that the purpose of this parable is to get people to pray, not to examine God’s response. Anyone who is looking for an answer to the question “what is prayer?” or who is searching for a deeper understanding of prayer is encouraged to read Part Four of the Catechism of the Catholic Church entitled CHRISTIAN PRAYER.
