Drodzy Parafianie,
W tym tygodniu Ewangelia przedstawia nam historię Zacheusza,"który był zwierzchnikiem celników i był
bardzo bogaty, chciał koniecznie zobaczyć Jezusa, któż to jest, ale sam nie mógł z powodu tłumu, gdyż był
niskiego wzrostu.” Wiele razy myślimy o sobie, że jesteśmy za niscy. Uważamy, że nie możemy widzieć. Mówimy
"nie rozumiem". Jednak musimy być jak Zacheusz, który nie przepuszcza szansy aby stać się wyższym, widzieć i
rozumieć. Jeśli nie będziemy wymagać sami od siebie, ktoś inny może to zrobić za nas.
Dzisiaj chciałbym podzielić się finansowym stanem naszej parafii za ostatni rok fiskalny 2015-2016.
Główne prace w przeciągu ostatniego roku: nowy 25 tonowy piec na ogrzewanie/ochładzanie został
zainstalowany na dachu kościoła, piec na plebani został przebudowany i szczelnie zabezpieczony, rury gazowe
do wszystkich czterech pieców zostały prawidłowo zaizolowane i zabezpieczone, pęknięcia i nieszczelności na
trzech dachy zostały częściowo zabezpieczone smołą, rynienki spustowe zostały zainstalowane pod dachem aby
zapobiec przeciekom wody w męskiej łazience i w biurze muzyki, żarówki w lampach na parkingu zostały
wymienione na wydajniejsze LED, kamery monitorujące bezpieczeństwo zostały zainstalowane na terenie
kościoła, plebani i parkingu, martwe drzewa zostały usunięte i przycięte przy wjeździe na parking jak również z
tyłu parkingu. Jestem bardzo wdzięczny za hojne ofiary na nasze kolekty na remonty budynków parafialnych.
W zeszłym roku fiskalnym, parafia ponownie przekroczyła budżet niedzielnych i świątecznych składek.
Udało nam się to osiągnąć za wykorzystaniem naszego elekronicznego programu GiveCentral, który
rozpoczęliśmy w październiku 2012 roku. Ważne jest, aby w dalszym ciągu zwiększać liczbę parafian
używających programu on-line giving. Jest to bardzo łatwy program do użytku. Zarejestruj się na naszej stronie

Dear Parishioners,
This week the Gospel presents us with the story of Zacchaeus, “who was a chief tax
collector and also a wealthy man, was seeking to see who Jesus was; but he could not see
him because of the crowd, for he was short in stature.” Many times we think about
ourselves that we are small. We think that we can’t see. We say “I don’t understand.”
However, we need to be like Zacchaeus who grasps the opportunity to become tall, to see,
and to understand. If we won’t challenge ourselves to be better, then we might be
challenged by someone else.
Today I would like to share with you the financial situation for the last fiscal year of our parish.
The major improvements for the parish were: a brand new 25 ton HVAC unit installed on the church roof,
HVAC unit on the rectory building—reworked, re-insulated and resealed, gas pipes to all four HVAC units
insulated and properly supported, all three roofs partially resealed with liquid tar against cracks and leaks, drain
pans were installed to prevent water leaks in the men’s bathroom and music office, parking lot lights were
updated with LED bulbs, new surveillance security system was installed on the entire property, diseased trees
were removed and trimmed by the entrance driveway and at the back of the parking lot. Your continued
generosity during our regular Building and Maintenance Fund collection is greatly appreciated.
As you already must know, our parish is conducting the To Teach Who Christ Is capital campaign. I am
very humbled by the generosity of your weekly contributions and the open hearted understanding and
donations to the campaign by the 56 families as of today. I am kindly asking, if at all possible, that each family
prayerfully consider a pledge towards the building of a stronger faith community and a more functional church
space in this parish.
The combined Christmas and Easter collections met the budgeted amount. Thanks to everyone for being
so generous during these holidays. We were able to accomplish this with the growing use of our on-line giving
program, which began in October 2012. It is important to continue to increase the number of parishioners in
our on-line giving program. To participate please go to our parish website at: www:stthomasbecketmp.org and
click on the GiveCentral sign up button. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Krystyna

With the upcoming celebration of All Saints this week, and
especially our patron saint —St. Thomas Becket, through their intersession,

A $350 million campaign for strong parishes, Catholic education and faith formation in the Archdiocese of Chicago
As part of the total $350 million goal, To Teach Who Christ Is will raise a minimum of $150 million to support local
needs in every parish across Chicago. Our goal at St. Thomas Becket is $615,000. We will receive 60% of the funds
raised. We will also receive 100% of any funds raised if we exceed our goal. This means that our parish will receive a
minimum of $369,00 for our local needs when we reach our goal! Our share of the funds will be directed to restore
our church to its original architectural plan. This effort will update our
worship space and bring it to its full potential.
Naszym celem w parafii Św. Tomasza Becketa jest zebranie $615,000.
Jako parafia otrzymamy 60% zebranej sumy. Otrzymamy również 100%
wszelkich funduszy zebranych ponad nasz cel. Oznacza to, że minimalna

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE—ALL SOULS
The Bereavement Ministry of St. Thomas Becket would like to extend a very special invitation to everyone to attend a
bilingual Mass of Remembrance on Wednesday, November 2nd at 7pm. During this
Mass we celebrate those who have gone before us in death. Those who have lost
their family member during this past year are receiving special invitations, but
everyone is most welcome to participate. If you like, you may bring a framless
picture of your loved one. These will be displayed on the Resurrection Altar
throughout the month of November. After Mass coffee and light refreshments
will be served in the parish hall.
WSPOMNIENIE BLISKICH ZMARŁYCH—DZIEŃ ZADUSZNY
W środę, 2-go listopada o godz. 7pm odbędzie się specjalna dwujęzyczna Msza Św. ku wspomnieniu naszych
bliskich, którzy odeszli przed nami do wieczności. Specjalne zaproszenie otrzymują ci, którzy stracili członków
rodzin w przeciągu ostatniego roku, ale wszyscy są zaproszeni do wspólnej modlitwy. Zdjęcia zmarłych (bez ramek)
można przynieść i będą wystawione przez miesiąc listopad na Ołtarzu Zmartwychwstania.
Po Mszy Św. zapraszamy do sali parafialnej na lekki poczęstunek.
HAT & MITT & COAT DRIVE - THANK YOU!
Through your generosity: 115 hats, scarves, pairs of mittens
and coats were collected. Thank you to Joyce Walorski and
Marie Virant for sorting, taking a count and delivering these
warm items to needy children from Euclid and Frost
Elementary Schools. Thank you for your continuing support.

We, the parish family of St. Thomas Becket,

My, Parafia Świętego Tomasza Becketa,
jesteśmy wspólnotą wiernych zjednoczonych
w Chrystusie, którzy troszczymy się o Boże
dziedzictwo i z oddaniem głosimy Dobrą
Nowinę. We wspólnym gromadzeniu się
i modlitwie, karmimy się Jego Słowem
i Chlebem z Jego Stołu.
Z poczuciem wspólnego obowiązku
podążamy w służbie naszym braciom
i siostrom. Pod przewodnictwem Ducha
Świętego dążymy do budowania Królestwa
Bożego wewnątrz i poza naszą parafią.
