MICHAEL SCHOOL …Special thanks to Miss Karolina Wojteczko, our music teacher, for accompanying our students during our recent school mass. The students did a great job singing! …The school sponsored a “Pink Day” in October and raised $300 for the Griffin Hospital Center for Breast Wellness. What a great job!! …The recent Walk-A-Thon raised over $3100 for our school. Thanks to all of the school families and parishioners who supported this event. …Trunk or Treat Day will be held on Saturday, October 29, 5:30 - 7:30pm. This is a safe family friendly event for the children. Costumes are required. Jan is training new altar servers and invites boys and girls of the parish to contact him if they are interested in this parish ministry. This is a great opportunity to serve the Lord and our parish. DIOCESE/COMMUNITY NEWS St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Shoppe & Food Bank 237 Roosevelt Drive, Mondays through Saturdays, 9:30am – 2:30pm. Advance reservations required – Please call 203-929-6616. ANNUAL MASS FOR DECEASED At the 5:30 pm Sunday Mass on Nov. 6, deceased members from our parish and St. Joseph Parish will be remembered. Letters of invitation have been sent to families who lost a loved one this past year. If you did not receive one, please call the office. ANNUAL CEMETERY SERVICE On Sunday, November 6, the annual cemetery service will take place at St. Michael Cemetery immediately following 11:30 am Mass (approximately 12:45 pm). All are invited to remember and pray for their deceased. If there is inclement weather the service will take place in Church following the 11:30 am Mass. ALL SOULS DAY ENVELOPES All Souls Day Remembrance envelope intentions will be prayed for during the Novena of All Souls beginning Nov. 2. These envelopes may be placed into any collection basket at any time until October 30. Additional envelopes are at the side entrance. PARISH OFFICE NEWS 2017 Offertory Envelopes. The office will soon be preparing the boxes of 2017 offertory envelopes which will be available for pick-up at the back of the Church in November. Those who have used envelopes this year will automatically receive a box for next year. If you would like envelopes for 2017 and didn’t have them this year, please let the Parish Office know by October 24. Thank you. ST. MICHAEL CHURCH CHOIR What better way to praise the Lord than to lift your voice in song! And what a beautiful time to sing of God’s glory, especially during the Christmas Season. The choir will soon begin rehearsals to sing at the Christmas Eve 4:30 pm vigil Mass. Why not become a “Steward of Song” and join the choir. You can talk to our choir director, Marc Garofalo, after Sunday Mass or call the office and leave your name and phone number. All are welcome – sopranos, altos, basses. Bardzo prosimy o ofiarność. DZIĘKUJEMY ZA OFIARNOŚĆ W ubiegłym tygodniu zebraliśmy podczas drugiej składki, która była przeznaczona na utrzymanie naszej parafii $1,437. RÓŻANIEC Październik jest miesiącem szczególnie poświęconym Matce Bożej i modlitwie różańcowej. Do wspólnej modlitwy różańcowej zapraszamy w poniedziałek o godz. 18:45 w języku angielskim i w środę po Mszy św. o godz. 19:00 w języku polskim. Zachęcamy do prywatnego i rodzinnego odmawiania modlitwy różańcowej. MODLITWA ZA ZMARŁYCH Zbliża się listopad, miesiąc modlitwy za naszych drogich zmarłych. Pragnąc wyprosić dla nich łaskę życia wiecznego będziemy odprawiać przez 9 kolejnych dni (począwszy od 2 do 10 listopada) Nowennowe Msze św. za tych zmarłych, których polecimy w wypominkach. Prosimy o wypisanie imion zmarłych na kopertach z 2 listopada. Dodatkowe koperty znajdują się na ławce przy bocznym wyjściu z kościoła. Koperty z imionami zmarłych prosimy wrzucić wraz ze zbieraną kolektą lub przynieść do zakrystii lub biura parafialnego przed końcem października. UROCZYSTOŚĆ WSZYSTKICH ŚWIĘTYCH Wtorek 1 listopada Msze św. będą odprawione o 7:00 i 17:30 po angielsku i o 19:00 po polsku. PROCESJA NA CMENTARZU W niedzielę 6 listopada 2016 bezpośrednio po Mszy św. o godz. 11:30 (około 12:45) na naszym cmentarzu parafialnym św. Michała będziemy modlić się za zmarłych. Jeśli pogoda nie będzie sprzyjająca wówczas procesja będzie wewnątrz kościoła. MSZA ŚWIĘTA ZA ZMARŁYCH W MINIONYM ROKU W niedzielę 6 listopada 2016 w naszym kościele podczas Mszy św. o godz. 17:30 będziemy modlić się za wszystkich zmarłych w minionym roku z parafii św. Michała oraz z parafii św. Józefa w Ansoni. SAKRAMENT BIERZMOWANIA Prosimy o modlitwę za młodzież z naszej parafii, która 8 listopada 2016 o godz. 19:00 w kościele pw. Św. Judy Tadeusza w Derby przyjmie Sakrament Bierzmowania.
