CEMETERY SERVICE THIS SUNDAY
This Sunday the annual cemetery service will take
place at St. Michael’s Cemetery immediately
following 11:30 am Mass (approximately 12:45pm).
Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate to
remember and pray for their deceased family and
friends. If there is inclement weather, the service
will take place in Church following the 11:30 am
Mass. A plenary indulgence, applicable only to the souls in Purgatory, is granted to any of the faithful who #1. On one of the days from Nov. 1 to Nov. 8 devoutly visit a cemetery or who simply pray mentally for the dead; #2. On All souls Day (or on the Sunday that precedes or follows All Saints Day) visit a church or chapel with devotion and there recite the “Our Father” and the Creed. CCD PROGRAM

ST. MARY-ST. MICHAEL SCHOOL
…On Thursday, November 10, the annual
Veteran’s Day Program at 1:30 pm in the AllPurpose Room. Grade 6 will present the program.
All veterans are invited to attend. Lunch will be
served after the program.
Our annual Wine Tasting will be held on
Sunday, November 13, at 500 Degrees on Main St.
from 5:30-7:30 pm. The cost is $25 a ticket. Please
contact the school for reservations.
The Scholastic Book Fair will be held at the
school November 14-17. This is a great opportunity
to purchase books for holiday gift giving.
The Snowflake Raffle will be held once again
to benefit the school. During the month of
December, there will be a daily $25 drawing, each
Friday a $50 drawing and on December 23 the final
drawing for $250. Calendars are $10 each. Please
contact the school to purchase your tickets. You
have 17 opportunities to win. The first drawing
begins on December 1.
ALTAR SERVER MINISTRY
Fr. Jan is training new altar servers and invites boys
and girls of the parish to contact him if they are
interested in this parish ministry. This is a great
opportunity to serve the Lord and our parish.
St. Joseph Church – Raffle Winners
St. Joseph Church, Ansonia extends sincere thanks to
all who purchased raffle tickets. The drawing was
held Sept. 18 at their Parish Festival. Winners were:

DIOCESE/COMMUNITY NEWS
St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Shoppe & Food Bank
237 Roosevelt Drive, Mondays through Saturdays,
9:30am – 2:30pm. They are seeking donations to
feed over 150 needy families in the Valley for
Thanksgiving. Your donations of non-perishable
food and turkey gift cards to local grocery stores will
be very much appreciated. As always they are
grateful to St. Michael parishioners for the
continuous donations of food.
Catholic War Veterans, St. Michael’s Post #1562
6:30pm, pasta dinner with salad, bread, dessert,
followed by a movie. Next dinner, Tuesday,
November 8. $6 per person.
Monthly Pro-Life Mass/Rosary, Assumption
Church Chapel. Held every First Friday at 7pm with
rosary recited at 6:30pm.

St. Joseph’s Residence, Enfield, has new openings
on the independent living floors. If you are on a fixed
income, you are living independently and you are at
least 70 (or older) the Little Sisters of the Poor would
like to talk to you to see if their Home would be the

Kasia Eatery and Catering is now open in Derby
at 143 Main Street. The owner is a member of the
parish. Polish-American food is being served. For

Porketta Dinner – Paugassett’s Firehouse,
Tuesday, November 22nd. Menu includes bread,
pasta with meat sauce, salad, porketta, potatoes, and
chicken. There is also a raffle. Cost is $15 per
person. Space is limited – first come/first serve.
Home-style macaroni and meatball dinner to
benefit Boy Scout Troop #3, 5:30 pm, Saturday,
November 12, St. Mary Church Hall. Menu prepared
by Marc Garofalo, St. Mary Church members and
Troop #3. Menu includes macaroni, meatballs,
sausage, sauce, bread, salad, soda, coffee, dessert.
$10 for adults and $8 age 16 and under. Advance

OPLATKI – CHRISTMAS WAFERS
Oplatki, Christmas Wafers, are available at the
Parish Office or in the Sacristy after Mass. A
donation is kindly requested. Polish Christmas Cards
are also available in the Sacristy and the Parish
Office.
ST. MICHAEL CHURCH CHOIR
If you enjoy singing, please consider joining the
choir and singing for the Christmas Season. The
choir sings for the 4:30 Christmas Eve Vigil Mass.
No “audition required”. Please see choir director,
Marc Garafalo, after Mass or call the office and
leave your name and phone number.
