Hitem końca roku 2009 i całego 2010 była niesamowita jednostka 717 GT, nawiązująca stylem i rozwiązaniami technicznymi do wyścigowych łodzi z końca lat 30-tych ubiegłego wieku. Minął czerwiec, a poza now ym video, prezentującym najnowszą 1017 GT, nikt nie pisnął ani słowa o testach w Gmunden. The latest child of the boatyard is the largest unit ever produced by them, Frauscher 1017GT M y adventure with the boatyard from Traunsee, situated by a picturesque lake near hidden in the Austrian mountains town of Gmunden, started ca. 5 years ago, when I was, for the first time, invited to testing of yachts 909 Benaco and 686 Lido. Those were the first Frauschers that were going away from classic lines of boats built at that times. Already the first meeting with Frauscher family raised my admiration to their creativity and constant searching for new solutions. It started a tradition of media meetings in Gmunden, to which the boatyard invites journalists from all over the world, to present its latest achievements. There were not always only new yachts but every year the boatyard had something unique to present, e.g. hydrogen drive for boats. For such a large boatyard, introducing a new model each season is a very tough and expensive venture, nevertheless, the boatyard has annually another ideas to attract attention of the media. The hit of the end of 2009 and entire 2010 was an incredible unit 717 GT, resembling the style and technical facilities of the racing boats from the end of 1930s. At this year’s fair in Düsseldorf Frauscher brothers shared their secret. They revealed that they were working on a new unit, the largest they had ever built. It would have 10 metres but they wouldn’t tell anything else until the hull touches water. The premiere in summer. I had written down in my calendar that in summer we were going to Australia to test 10-metre-long Frauscher! It’s a must-be! June passed and nothing apart from a new video presenting the latest 1017 GT, no one wrote anything about the tests in Gmunden. Maybe the boat wasn’t successful? Finally it’s there! There’s a piece of information that a boatyard started works on building a new, larger head office whereas the tests of the continuator of the GT line, the 10-metre Frauscher 1017 will take place… in France, a few days after fair in Cannes and official premiere of the yacht. The enriched copy 1017 GT is a continuation of Grand Turismo line. At first sight, 10-metre Frauscher is almost a true copy 7-metre of its predecessor. Alike black hull, a deck covered with teak wood and sport, comfortable furnishing of a cockpit. After a closer look we will also see a huge sun bed astern and more oval shapes astern are not the only elements differing those two yachts. The most significant difference is drive of the new unit. In contrast to driven in a traditio- nym wejściu na targi. Możemy być pewni, że podczas skoków na falach nie poczujemy najmniejszego dyskomfortu. dane techniczne / TECHNICAL DATA Długość / length: 10,17 m Szerokość / width: 2,99 m Waga / weight: 3 900 kg Zbiorniki paliwa / fuel tanks: 520 l Zbiorniki wody / water tanks: 300 l Maksymalna liczba osób / maximum number of people: 8 Opcje silników / types of engines: 2 x Mercruiser 350 MAG, 300 KM 2 x Volvo Penta D4, 300 KM Cena netto wersji standard / NET PRICE OF A STANDARD EDITION : 251 190 Euro www.liveandtravel.eu nal way with a shaft of 717, the new GT gives power of two engines to a propeller through a transmission Z. The exterior line The stand of the Austrian shipyard in Cannes was situated ashore, right beside the main entrance to fair. It allowed to watch the boat from every side, also its sharp bottom. The V- shape of the hull, going a bit flat towards the stern, was divided by four redans going to transoms. Apart from longitudinal steps, the bottom of 1017 was divided by two transverse, deep steps. The second one, shorter, ends more or less in 2/3 of unit’s length and from it the bottom of a boat is even, also the V shape angle of the hull gets smaller. Thanks to such line the yacht slides easily achieving higher speed results and simultaneously, crosses even higher waves softly and without hits. Looking at the hull, my attention was drawn by a hidden in bow, electrically controlled anchor. In fact, at the first moment I thought it is the only decorative element. Together with steel reinforcement of the bow’s edge, it looks like a visor of a brace knight, after a while I realised it isn’t a useless decoration but another proof of boatyard’s care about aesthetic work on every element of the boat. Let’s go to the surface. A stern deck, long and pretty wide, covered with teak is totally flat, the only uneven surface is a low navigation LED astern. Even to skylights providing natural light into a cabin under the deck are hidden in a line of a deck. The whole of this perfectly flat surface is framed by a low, a centimetre-high bulwark with hidden knags, holders to fix fenders and bow’s locker for anchor’s chain. Come on board You can reach the cockpit from the bow’s side, going through a narrow board near the fairing or in more convenient way, from the stern through a sunbathing platform and further through a teak path between two wide, snow-white sunbathe mattresses astern. Headrests of those mattresses are simultaneously a part of comfortable backrests of sofas, deeply situated in a cockpit. There’s a stair between them with a small locker underneath, a perfect place to leave your shoes after entering the board. The boatyard clearly shows that the new 1017 is intended for fun and relaxation. The turn-chairs of a steersman and navigator have not only regulated height but are also installed on actuators that softly welcome their passengers, gently weighing down. We can be sure that during the jumping on waves we won’t feel any discomfort. 85
