OUTREACH PROGRAM
This was one of those great weeks that comes along just
often enough to keep our spirits on a continuous high.
As we like to say, our aim is to help the client reach the
point of not needing us. This was that week. We had a
gentleman who came to us after his unemployment ran
out and he still did not have a job. He hated asking for
help but knew that his “rainy day” fund was quickly
running out on him and he had a wife and children who
counted on his support. We were able to convince him
to let us supply him with food and clothing so he could
stretch his back-up funds further.
Well, last week he came in – all smiles- and told us that
he had been hired by a top firm at the same salary that
he was making at his last job. He wanted us to know
how grateful he was for the assistance he received in
food, clothing and Christmas gifts and also to let us
know that as soon as he was back on his feet he fully
intended to become a regular contributor to the Our
Lady of the Assumption Outreach. Need I tell you that
we spent the day smiling?
We will smile even more if you can find it in your
budget to supply us with tuna fish and peanut butter.

New Religious Education Class
In the 2014-2015 school year, we will be offering a
Continuing Education class for young people ages 1417 who have already received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Father Janusz will be teaching this class
to continue formation in the Faith and to provide important ways to meet the contemporary problems that
Catholics face. It will be held Tuesday evenings at no
charge. If you are interested, please contact the Religious Ed office at (631) 842-3545. Thank you.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2014-2015 school year will begin
on Tuesday, August 12th and extend through Tuesday,
September 23rd. It will be held at the Religious Ed
offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The tuition fee for the school year 2014-2015 will be
the same as last year. However, we are going to add a
fee for preparation for First Holy Communion of $50
(in addition to Confirmation) which includes the costs

confirmation gown etc. These payments must be
made at the same time as the tuition fee.

Zapisy rozpoczną się we wtorek 12 sierpnia i trwać będą

Opłaty za naukę religii będą takie same jak w roku
ubiegłym z tą różnicą, że wprowadzone będą zmiany w
opłatach związanych z przygotowaniem do 1szej komunii
św. i bierzmowania.
Opłatę związaną z przygotowaniem do sakramentów
Pierwszej Komunii Świętej i Bierzmowania należy uiścić
wraz z opłatą za cały rok nauki.
Wysokość opłat:
- za 1 dziecko: $ 120
- za dwoje lub wiecej dzieci: $ 150
- Pierwsza Komunia Święta: $50 (tj. opłata za
fotografa i materiały przygotowawcze)
- Bierzmowanie: $85 (opłata za materiały,
rekolekcje, strój na uroczystość)
UWAGA: Rodzice uczniów rozpoczynających naukę w
klasach VII, VIII oraz Prep 6 muszą w trakcie dokonywania zapisów spotkać się z dyrektorem Programu Edukacji Religijnej, aby otrzymać listę wymagań dotyczących Sakramentu Bierzmowania i potrzebne informacje.

FESTYN PARAFIALNY
SPOTKANIE LIDERÓW I WOLONTARIUSZY
W środę 11 czerwca, o godz. 20:00 w sali pod kościołem
odbędzie się spotkanie związane z Parafialnym Festynem,
w tym roku połączonym z obchodami 85-lecia istnienia
naszej parafii. Spotkanie przeznaczone jest dla liderów
wszystkich grup oraz dla tych, którzy chcieliby uczestniczyć
w festynie jako wolontariusze. Pracy i przygotowań jest
bardzo wiele. Im więcej rąk do pomocy, tym większy
sukces Festynu. Zachęcamy naszych parafian do wzięcia
udziału w spotkaniu.

organizacji Polish Gift of Life.
THE SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER Last week I felt sorry for Philip. Jesus seemed to rebuff him for his question “show us the Father”. Jesus said to him “have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me?” I felt sorry for Philip because I could hear myself asking the same question. But today I rejoice with Philip. He seems to have made it! The crowds paid attention when they heard what he was saying and saw the signs he was doing. It’s all there in the first reading. In the second reading, Peter tells us we must always be ready to give an explanation for our hope, which is Christ. And in the Gospel, Jesus tells us why we will be able to do both of the above: know the father and stand up for Christ. “I will give you another advocate, the Spirit of Truth”. Jesus is promising to send us the Holy Spirit; and our readings are preparing us to celebrate the great feast of Pentecost in two weeks. Our prayer these weeks ought to be to ask to be open to this great gift. “Come Holy Spirit; fill the hearts of your faithful.” This past Tuesday, many of our young parishioners received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Let us pray that they also will remain open to the gift of the Spirit On Thursday we will be celebrating the Ascension of Jesus into heaven, a holy day of obligation. On that day our Gospel will present us with Jesus’ great commission and promise to us: Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.
