Meeting objectives
The primary objective is to present status and discuss further research in the regional energy
study of Pomorskie.
Other objectives are:
- to discuss the last tasks for the “Energy policy in Poland. Status and prospects for
bioenergy development” paper finalization,
- a new paper related to “Regional study –methodology and Pomorskie example” –
paper goals and an initial tasks attribution to persons and involved parties of research
groups

– data needs of MARKAL model (Marcin Jaskólski, 15 minutes), – data availability (Anna Hinderson/Maria Munter, 15 minutes),
– problem of unsuitable Swedish data in Polish conditions (equipment and labour cost) –

– set of future technologies and their probable date of commercialisation (distributed
combined heat and power sources e.g. fuel cells, biomass gasification, hybrid drive in
transport) – discussion
– currently operated boilers in Pomorskie region

Energy consumption in powiats (counts) of Pomorskie (Jurek Buriak – 15 minutes
presentation + discussion):
- electricity consumption
- gas consumption
- utilization of fuels in small and medium size heat sources (0.4 – 20 MW)
- disaggregation of national and voivodship level statistical data as data feedback

Discussion of energy strategies for Pomorskie – goal definition for optimization (e.g. maximal
substitution biomass for coal) and control strategies for goal accomplishing:
- business as usual
- emission limits and emission trade
- obligation for “green” energy distribution and green certificates
- subsidizing
- constant prices for “green” electricity
