Sustainable Energy in Poland: The Role of Bioenergy (BioEnPol) Project Group Meeting Gdansk, 25. Other objectives are: - to discuss the last tasks for the “Energy policy in Poland. Status and prospects for bioenergy development” paper finalization, - a new paper related to “Regional study –methodology and Pomorskie example” – paper goals and an initial tasks attribution to persons and involved parties of research groups Meeting Agenda Session 1. Augusiak and introduction to meeting objectives 9.25-9.50 Presentation of MARKAL models and results for Pomorskie region (Marcin Jaskólski – 15 min presentation and discussion) 9.50-10.30 Technology database: – data needs of MARKAL model (Marcin Jaskólski, 15 minutes), – data availability (Anna Hinderson/Maria Munter, 15 minutes), – problem of unsuitable Swedish data in Polish conditions (equipment and labour cost) – discussion – set of future technologies and their probable date of commercialisation (distributed combined heat and power sources e.g. fuel cells, biomass gasification, hybrid drive in transport) – discussion – currently operated boilers in Pomorskie region 10.30-11.00 Energy consumption in powiats (counts) of Pomorskie (Jurek Buriak – 15 minutes presentation + discussion): - electricity consumption - gas consumption - utilization of fuels in small and medium size heat sources (0.4 – 20 MW) - disaggregation of national and voivodship level statistical data as data feedback 11.00-11.30 Biomass supply databases (EC BREC: 15 minutes presentation + discussion) 11.30-12.00 Discussion of energy strategies for Pomorskie – goal definition for optimization (e.g. maximal substitution biomass for coal) and control strategies for goal accomplishing: - business as usual - emission limits and emission trade - obligation for “green” energy distribution and green certificates - subsidizing - constant prices for “green” electricity 12.00-12.15 The paper “Regional study –methodology and Pomorskie example” –paper goals and an initial tasks attribution to persons and research groups (Jurek Buriak) 12.30-13.30 Lunch in Club Restaurant of Gdansk University of Technology Session 2.
