Dear Parishioners,
Those of you who attended last Sunday’s
Feast Mass and Procession know just how
wonderful it is to come together as one
parish and pray together. It was truly a
time of faith and community. It was
wonderful!!! And...it was symbolic of just
how the whole Feast went this year.
Thanks to all of you who went “above and
beyond” giving your time, talent and
treasure for our 2013 Feast! This year we
had the chance to add new members to the
“Joseph A. Costantino” Feast Hall of Fame.
We were delighted to induct Sharon &
Thomas Fattoruso, Pauline & Thomas
Albarano, Hanna Mazewska and Julio
Murillo for all their support over the years.
We thank all our volunteers their tireless
efforts which always make our feast a

We are preparing for the 2013-2014 Religious Education school year and the registration process is already underway. At
this time, you should be aware of the following:
•
Classes for the upcoming year will begin on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
•
Religious Ed registration (and re-registration) will be conducted onTuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
from July 16 through September 19.
HOURS FOR AUGUST (13TH TO 29TH) WILL BE TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND THURSDAYS,
FROM 2:00PM TO 7:00PM. September hours will be announced at Mass and published in the Church
Bulletin.
•
All registration (and re-registration) must be done in person. You will complete a standard form for
our records. There will be NO registration by mail this year.
•
If you are NOT a member of this parish, you must bring proof of membership at another parish; this is
usually in the form of a church offering envelope, which has your name and number printed on it.
•
Registration Tuition Fee:
Individual (1 child) $120
Family (2 or more children) $150
•
Fees must be paid by check or in cash when you come in to register. There will be no refund of the fees
once classes have begun.
If you are registering for the first time:

Please bring your child’s Baptismal Certificate so we can make a copy for our records. This is
necessary even if your child was baptized at OLA. (If your child has never been baptized, please bring the
Birth Certificate.)

If your child has already received First Communion, please bring the First Communion
Certificate (or other documentation) showing this.

OUTREACH PROGRAM
We have had a busy week at the Outreach and had a lot
of hungry people waiting for us when we opened the
doors on Tuesday. They were thirsty people, too. As I
have said before, because of your outstanding generous
nature in giving to the Outreach we had no problem
handling the hungry/thirsty crowds that awaited us.
We did use up a lot of peanut butter and jelly as well
as tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, cereal, plain
crackers and shelf milk....in case you are wondering
what to purchase. Sorry kids but the time is coming
when we will be needing backpacks, black marble
notebooks, folders. children’s scissors, glue sticks and
loose leaf binders.

The 2014 Mass Book is now open. Please stop by the
Rectory during office hours to arrange your Mass
Intentions. No Masses may be arranged over the
phone, and must done personally. The offering is
$15.00 per Mass Intention.
If you have lost something (keys, eyeglasses,
rosary beads, etc.) in the Church, Auditorium, or
on parish grounds, please stop by the rectory
office. This is the last call. We will wait one week.
After that everything will be given away.

leer, rosarios, etc. en la Iglesia, Auditorio, o en los
terrenos de la parroquia, por favor vaya a la

Se necesita mantequilla de maní, jalea, atún
enlatado, macarrones con queso, cereal, galletas
simples (crackers), y leche en polvo. Y para el
regreso a la escuela: mochilas, cuaderno de
notas, folders, tijeras sin puntas (especiales para
niños), pegamento en barra, y páginas para

Aquellos de ustedes que asistieron el pasado Domingo
a la Misa de la Fiesta y a la procesión saben cuán
maravilloso es reunirse como parroquia y orar unidos.
Fue realmente un momento de fe y comunidad. ¡Fue
maravilloso! Y... fue simbólica la forma en que la fiesta
se desarrolló este año. ¡Gracias a todos ustedes que
fueron “más allá” en dar de su tiempo, talento y tesoros
para nuestra Fiesta del 2013! Este año tuvimos la
oportunidad de agregar nuevos miembros al salón de
la fama “Joseph A. Costantino” de la Fiesta. Estuvimos
encantados en inducir a Sharon y Thomas Fattoruso,
Pauline & Thomas Albarano, Hanna Masewska y Julio
Murillo, por el apoyo que ellos han demostrado durante

Przygotowujemy się obecnie do rozpoczęcia nowego roku szkolnego (nauki religii) 2013-2014 i w związku z tym prosimy
Państwa o zapoznanie sie z następujacymi informacjami :
1. Lekcje religii rozpoczną się we WTOREK 1-ego PAŹDZIERNIKA 2013 roku.
2. Prowadzimy obecnie zapisy wszystkich uczniów na lekcje religii. Zapisy trwać będą DO 19 WRZEŚNIA. Biuro Edukacji
Religijnej czynne jest W SIERPNIU (DO 29 SIERPNIA) WE WTORKI, ŚRODY I CZWARTKI, W GODZ. OD 2:00 PO POŁUDNIU
DO 7:00 WIECZOREM. Godziny otwarcia biura we wrześniu zostaną podane podczas Mszy św. oraz w Biuletynie Parafialnym.
3. Wszystkie zapisy uczniów nowych (oraz zapisy ponowne) muszą być dokonywane osobiście. Należy wypełnić
standardową formę. W tym roku NIE prowadzimy zapisów drogą pocztową.
4. Jeżeli NIE są Państwo zapisani do naszej parafii, to powinni Państwo przynieść zaświadczenie o swojej przynależności do
innej parafii. Może to być np. koperta używana do składki z wydrukowaną nazwą parafii oraz z Państwa nazwiskiem, adresem
oraz numerem ewidencyjnym.

** Prosimy Państwa o przyniesienie ze sobą METRYKI CHRZTU DZIECKA (nawet jeśli dziecko było ochrzczone w naszej parafii),
abyśmy mogli zrobić jej kopię. Jeśli dziecko nie było jeszcze ochrzczone, prosimy o przyniesienie jego Aktu Urodzenia.
** Jeżeli dziecko przyjęło już sakrament Eucharystii (Pierwsza Komunia Św.), to wówczas prosimy o przyniesienie
zaświadczenia potwierdzajacego przyjęcie tego sakramentu.

Drodzy Parafianie,
Wszyscy ci spośród Was, którzy wzięli udział
we Mszy św. Odpustowej oraz procesji w
ostatnią niedzielę wiedzą o tym, jak wspaniale
jest zgromadzić się wspólnie jako jedna
parafia i wspólnie się modlić. Był to czas wiary
i wspólnoty. Było cudownie!!! A ponadto było
to symbolem tego, w jaki sposób przebiegał
cały tegoroczny Festiwal. Dziękuję wszystkim
tym spośród Was, którzy na rzecz Festiwalu
ofiarowali swój czas i talenty. W tym roku
mieliśmy
możliwość
dodania
nowych
członków do “Festiwalowej Hali Sławy im
Josepha C. Costantino”. Z radością
wprowadziliśmy tam Sharon i Thomasa
Fattoruso, Pauline i Thomasa Albarano,
Hannę Mazewską oraz Julio Murillo - jako
podziękowanie za ich nieustające wsparcie
poprzez wiele lat. Dziękujemy także wszystkim
naszym wolon-tariuszom za ich wysiłki, które
sprawiają, że nasz Festiwal zawsze staje się
sukcesem.

SPECJALNE PODZIĘKOWANIE
Ten weekend jest ostatnim weekendem posługi
dwóch bardzo oddanych pracowników naszej
kancelarii parafialnej. Nathaniel Angeles oraz
Kenneth Pagliughi ukończyli szkołę średnią i
rozpoczynają studia. Przez ostatnich kilka lat
pracowali oni z nami zawsze, gdy prosiliśmy ich o
to podczas naszych specjalnych liturgii.
Życzmy im sukcesów oraz Bożego błogosławieństwa w ich przyszłych staraniach.
“We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses “
Since suggesting at the beginning of summer that we imitate the “seventy‐two”, spreading the name and kingdom of Jesus, I have come to know that we at OLA are already “surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses”. There is a great multitude of parishioners, each truly living out his/her Baptismal call day after day. Reports from the field are truly amazing! Let us pray and sacrifice that more and more of us will begin to help Jesus realize his desire: “I have come to set the world on fire, and how I wish that it were already blazing”. This “great cloud of witnesses” also includes all of the holy men and women of OLA who have gone before us, and who now intercede for us with God. This is truly the “Communion of Saints”. In today’s first reading, Jeremiah the Prophet was thrown into a cistern in an attempt to kill him for defending the word of God. Were any of us rejected for doing the same? These can also be reported, as encouragement to anyone else who may have met the same. But the Lord came to Jeremiah’s aid in the person of a court official who was not afraid to speak the truth. His life was saved. Let us not be afraid to speak God’s truth. In the words of today’s psalm: “The Lord heard my cry . . . He put a new song into my mouth, a hymn to our God. Many shall look on in awe and trust in the Lord.” Agnes Scheuermann
