Koszykowa 75 00-662 Warszawa POLAND tel.:(+48 22) 628 06 65 fax.: (+48 22) 625 66 33 Research focus of the Centre The PELINCEC center of excellence promotes research and disseminates knowledge on multi-disciplinary areas of power electronic semiconductor devices, converter topologies and control systems with special emphasis on novel intelligent control and information technology issues for energy conservation. The Centre is a technological bridge between countries of Eastern, Central and Western Europe. The Centre is operating in the following Working Groups: - WG1 – Power quality WG2 – New topology of Power Electronic Converters WG2 – Intelligent control and Signal Processing WG4 – Industrial information technology WG5 – Renewable energy WG6 – Hybrid energy systems Human Resources The staff of the Centre consists of 62 persons (incl. 9 full Professors, 6 senior Scientists, 34 Scientists, 7 technicians and 6 administrative staff). At present there are also 48 Ph.D. students, about 60 graduate students at M.Sc. level. Training possibility The Centre offers courses in: power electronics, control and robotics. A very important part of PELINCEC activities is concentrating on short courses, workgroups and specialized training for participants from industry, which creates knowledge by the need of modern technology in the area of activities of the Centre. There is also a opportunity for foreign students to study in the Centre on both M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels. Scientific and industrial cooperation The Centre has bilateral agreements with 17 foreign Scientific institutions from all over the world. The national network consists of more than 20 Polish research institutes and universities. Since many years the Institute established numerous contacts with industrial partners. Currently it has the cooperation with the following companies: Newage (UK), Voltamper – Pretori (South Africa), Danfoss (DK), MEDCOM (PL), APS Poland (PL), TWERD – Toruń (PL), POLSONIC – Warsaw (PL).
