Sklejenie warg sromowych – problemy diagnostyczne i terapeutyczne na marginesie obserwowanego przypadku The fusion between the labia minora in girls – diagnostic and therapeutic procedure and case report Aurelia Sielużycka, Laura Ligarzewska STRESZCZENIE Oglądanie zewnętrznych narządów moczowo-płciowych jest niezbędnym elementem badania przedmiotowego. Występuje ono u około 2% dziewczynek do 4. roku życia. Słowa kluczowe: wargi sromowe, zapalenie sromu, higiena krocza ABSTRACT Examining external urogenital organs is an indispensable element of an objective examination. In the case of girls, special attention should be paid to the condition of their labia, size of clitoris, localization of the orifice of the urethra, the mucosa of the vulva as well as the type of secretion in the vestibule of the vagina. The fusion of labia minora is an increasing problem in girls. Such disorder is present approximately in 2% of girls between 3rd month and 4th year of age. The etiology of the disorder has not been fully explained yet. It appears that an important role plays decreased level of estrogens between the period of infancy and puberty. An estrogen deficiency is conducive to inflammatory process of both the vulva and the vagina. Among numerous factors predisposing to labial fusion or agglutination there should be mentioned improper hygiene of the perineum region. Special attention should be drawn to girls with skin diseases. The treatment of fused labia depends upon clinical symptoms. The paper presents the case of a 12-month-old patient in this disorder. Key words: labia, inflammation of vulva, hygiene of perineum
