THE WAY
In today’s Gospel reading we hear part of
Jesus’ discourse at the Last Supper as reported
in the Gospel of John. “I am the way and the
truth and life,” Jesus assures his disciples. At
that time they did not understand what he
meant; they wanted easy answers. “Just show us the Father,”
Philip begged.
But the first and second readings show us how the early
church came to understand Jesus’ words. The amazing growth
of the church led them to select seven men to do the works of
service needed with so many new members. The followers of
Jesus had grown in such numbers that Peter could exclaim in
his Letter over the fact that Christ, the “rejected stone,” was
now the cornerstone on whom the salvation of all the world
rests. Down to this present day, he is truly the way, the truth
and the life.
HOLY ROSARY SODALITY
Today, at 8:15am Liturgy we welcome the Holy Rosary Sodality for their Annual Communion and installation Mass followed by breakfast served in the school cafeteria. The essence
of the spirituality of the Holy Rosary Sodality is the ROSARY
which is a most effective prayer to God through the intercession
of the Blessed Mother and we rededicate ourselves to the
prayers of the rosary.
FIRST EUCHARIST ANNIVERSARY MASS
Today, Sunday, May 18 at 9:30am liturgy we celebrate the
first anniversary of the 3rd grade children of our parish who
received Jesus for the first time in May 2013. It is truly a beautiful opportunity for all of us to reflect and remember our First
Eucharist and how much Jesus has meant in our lives. The children and their families will process into church and participate
in the Mass readings. After Mass there will be a small celebration for the families in the cafeteria. Please pray for our young
people that they will receive the bread of life every Sunday
during Divine Worship and obtain the privilege and honor to
receive the Eucharistic Bread at the end of their life.

FORTY HOURS DEVOTION
Today, Sunday, May 18th after the 11:00am Mass, we begin
the Eucharistic solemnity in our parish, traditionally known as
Forty Hours. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the
11:00am Mass and the opportunity of private adoration until
4:00pm. The Stearns vespers will be sung by the choirs at
4:00pm with a homily delivered by Rev. Grzegorz Jednaki of
St. Joseph Church, N. Grosvenordale, CT.
STANISLAW CARDINAL DZIWISZ VISIT
On Tuesday, May 20th - former secretary of Pope John Paul
II, His Eminence Stanislaw Cardinal Dziwisz will visit Webster. His schedule includes a visit with the children of St. Joseph School and a luncheon with business leaders at Point
Breeze Restaurant at 1:00pm.
Since this visit coincides with Forty Hours Devotion, there
will be a votive Mass through the intercession of Pope St. John
Paul II at 6:00pm celebrated by Cardinal Dziwisz with Bishop
Robert McManus.
We ask the First Communion class, in their official attire, to
participate in the procession, have a picture taken with Cardinal
Dziwisz and receive a special blessing. Please meet in front of
the rectory at 5:45pm.
We invite all parishioners, parish organization with their
emblems and banners, the Parish Council, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, Children of Mary, Boy Scouts, Piast Group
and school children to join in this solemn procession to the
church.
Buffet dinner will follow Mass at the Polish American Citizens Club. Tickets at $30pp - $10 for school children are available at the rectory. This is a great occasion to personally meet
and exchange a few words with a person who lived and worked
with a Saint.
NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
On Wednesday, May 21st, we will pray to God through the
intercession of St. Joseph.
St. John Paul II stated, “St. Joseph was called by God to
serve the person and mission of Jesus directly through the exercise of his fatherhood. God placed him at the head of his family, as a faithful and prudent servant, so that with fatherly care
he might watch over his only begotten son. He worked with
human hands, he thought with a human mind and loved with a
human heart.” We should all follow this example.
Parishioners and friends are asked to join the Eucharistic
Ministers as they carry the St. Joseph statue to the sanctuary.
You may print your intentions legibly on the forms provided to
be read during devotions by the celebrant.

Our parish relies on your participation in the Annual Partners in Charity Appeal.
We are grateful to our parishioners who have already contributed to our appeal but many who participated last year have not

Congratulations to St. Joseph School’s published poets! Students in Mrs. Lefebvre’s Grade 6, 7, and 8 Language Arts
classes recently entered their original poems in Creative Communications’ spring poetry contest. 21 students will have their
poetry published in the Spring 2014 edition of A Celebration of
Poets. Poems are selected for publication based on their literary merit, creativity, or social significance.
Students whose poems were selected for publication are:

ST. JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN’S CLUB
The Annual Banquet of the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club

PARISHIONER REGISTRATION
If you participate in the Liturgy on a weekly basis and are not
a registered parishioner, we ask you to come to the rectory to
fill out a registration form. Because you attended St. Joseph
School or your parents or grandparents are parishioners does
not automatically designate you as a parishioner. This
Diocesan rule applies to everyone over 18 years of age. The
Sacrament of Baptism and Matrimony are administered to only
registered parishioners.
YOUTH GROUP
“Camp Catholic” Safe Environment Training– Friday,
May 16th 6:30-8:00pm. In the Youth Center. In keeping with
Diocesan guidelines ALL volunteers 14 and older, must have
this training to be a Counselor or Adult volunteer at our “Camp
Catholic” Vacation Bible School. Please RSVP to Christina.

June 23 - 27: “Camp Catholic” Vacation Bible School. The
VBS is for kids in gr. 1-5. Kids in gr. 6-12 are eligible to be
camp counselors; Summer Theater Program starts July 14th.

Race to Poland 5K & Polish Picnic-to be held on June 7th at
St. Patrick’s Church grounds in Whitinsville, MA. The 5K run,
jog or walk registration starts at 9:00am with the race starting at

The picnic is from 11:00am—2:00pm with Polish/American
food, Polish music, games for kids and much more!! Proceeds
of this event will help finance high school and college students
who will participate in World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland.

Prawdziwa miłość zawsze zmierza do
otwarcia własnego domu i udostępnienia go
osobie kochanej. Dom, to mój czysto osobisty
świat, w którym jestem sobą i czuję się
bezpiecznie. To świat, do którego nikt nie
może wejść, o ile ja sam mu nie otworzę. Jeśli kogoś kocham,
wprowadzam go do mego domu, dając mu możliwość
uczestniczenia w jego bogactwie. Mój dom staje się domem
osoby kochanej. Ona w nim może czuć się bezpiecznie, tu nie
spotka ją żadna krzywda. W moim domu może być sobą, może
w nim odpocząć po trudach zmagania z twardą rzeczywistością
obcych ludzi i trudnych spraw. Mój dom staje się jej domem.

WIZYTA
KSIĘDZA KARDYNAŁA STANISŁAWA DZIWISZA
We wtorek, 20 Maja, zaszczyci nas swoja obecnością Jego Eminencja Ksiądz Kardynał Stanisław Dziwisz, były Sekretarz
św. Jana Pawła II. Na początek wizyty odwiedzi naszą szkołę, a następnie, o godz. 13:00 spotka się z przedstawicielami środowiska
biznesowego na obiedzie w restauracji Point Breeze.
Z racji tego, że wizyta Ks. Kardynała zbiega się z obchodami Nabożeństwa Czterdziestogodzinnego w naszej parafii, Ks. Kardynał
będzie przewodniczył uroczystej Eucharystii o godz. 18:00. Do udziału w procesji na rozpoczęcie Mszy św. prosimy dzieci
pierwszokomunijne ubrane w komunijne stroje. Dzieci otrzymają uroczyste błogosławieństwo i będą mogły zrobić pamiątkowe
zdjęcie z Ks. Kardynałem. Do udziału w procesji zapraszamy również wszystkie organizacje parafialne, Grupę Piast, Skautów,
Dzieci Maryi, Ministrantów oraz uczniów z naszej szkoły. Uczestników procesji prosimy o przybycie przed plebanię już o 17:45.
HOLY ROSARY SODALITY
W dniu dzisiejszym, na Mszy św. o godz. 8:15 gromadzimy
się wokół Holy Rosary Sodality na Dorocznej Mszy
Wspólnotowej, na której będą przyjęci również nowi
członkowie Stowarzyszenia. Po Eucharystii członkowie
Stowarzyszenia gromadzą się na uroczystym śniadaniu
w szkolnej kafeterii.
Centrum życia duchowego Holy Rosary Sodality jest
Różaniec, który jest najskuteczniejszą modlitwą do Boga
za przyczyną Matki Najświętszej.
ROCZNICA PIERWSZEJ KOMUNII ŚW.
Dziś, na Mszy św. o godz. 9: 30, obchodzimy uroczystość
Pierwszej Rocznicy przyjęcia Pierwszej Komunii Świętej przez
dzieci, które w ubiegłym roku przyjęły Jezusa po raz pierwszy
do swoich serc. To również doskonała okazja dla wszystkich
nas do wspomnienia naszych Pierwszych Komunii Świętych
oraz wszystkich przeżyć i refleksji z tym związanych. Dzieci
będą uczestniczyły w procesji na początek Eucharystii.
Po liturgii dzieci i rodziny spotykają się na małym poczęstunku
w szkolnej kafeterii.
Prosimy o modlitwę w intencji tych dzieci i ich rodzin.
CZTERDZIESTOGODZINNE NABOŻEŃSTWO
Po Mszy św. o godz. 11:00 rozpoczynamy nasze parafialne
Dni Eucharystyczne. Wystawienie Najświętszego Sakramentu
potrwa do godz. 16:00. Następnie wraz z chórem parafialnym
odśpiewamy uroczyste Nieszpory i wsłuchamy się w homilię
którą wygłosi ks. Grzegorza Jednaki z parafii św. Józefa
w N. Grosvenordale.
Poniedziałek jest przeznaczony na prywatną adorację,
natomiast we wtorek uroczyste zakończenie Adoracji o godz.
18:00 na Mszy św. pod przewodnictwem J.E. Ks. Kardynała
Stanisława Dziwisza.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Nasza parafia liczy na Wasze zaangażowanie i udział
w corocznej akcji charytatywnej Partners in Charity.
Jesteśmy ogromnie wdzięczni wszystkim parafianom, którzy
już złożyli swoje ofiary. Wielu parafian, którzy w tamtym roku
dołączyli się do wsparcia dzieł charytatywnych w naszej
diecezji, w tym roku jeszcze tego nie uczynili. Tymczasem,
nasze ofiary, nawet niewielkie, mogą stać się wielkim
wsparciem dla tych, którzy znajdują się w ogromnej potrzebie.
Specjalne koperty znajdują się w ławkach. Prosimy również
nie zapominać o modlitwie za wstawiennictwem św. Jana
Pawła III i Jana XXIII w intencji ludzi korzystających
z pomocy.
NOWENNA DO ŚW. JÓZEFA
W najbliższą środę spotykamy się, jak co tydzień,
na Nowennie do św. Józefa. Św. Jan Paweł II powiedział
kiedyś: „Św. Józef był wezwany przez Boga, aby służyć
Jezusowi i Jego misji poprzez opiekę ojcowską. Bóg uczynił go
głową św. rodziny tak by jako wierny i oddany sługa mógł
z ojcowską miłością otoczyć opieką umiłowanego Syna
Bożego. Józef pracował ludzkimi rękami, myślał ludzkim
umysłem i kochał ludzkim sercem.” Dzięki nabożeństwom
do św. Józefa my wszyscy możemy podążać za Jego
przykładem.
W tym tygodniu do procesji z figura św. Józefa zapraszamy
wszystkich chętnych parafian.

Polish Women’s Club organizuje swój doroczny Bankiet.
Początek o godz. 18:00. Bilety w cenie $20 od osoby można

FESIWAL
Serdecznie prosimy wszystkich parafian o pomoc
w przygotowaniu terenu wokół PACC do naszego festiwalu.
Prace będą prowadzone w sobotę, 31 maja w godz. od 10:00
do 14:00. Prosimy przynieść grabie, łopaty i miotły. Mile
widziane również samochody do przewozu różnych rzeczy.
Potrzeba jest bardzo wiele rąk do pracy. Osoby chętne prosimy
o wypełnienie odpowiednich form znajdujących się przy
wejściach do bazyliki. Wypełnione formy prosimy włożyć
do koszyków z kolektą.
AKATYST
Wszystkich parafian zapraszamy na szczególne nabożeństwo,
które zostanie po raz pierwszy odprawione w naszej świątyni.
Odbędzie się ono w niedzielę 1 czerwca tuż po Koronce do
Miłosierdzia Bożego.
Akatyst ku czci Bogurodzicy to hymn liturgiczny, jeden
z najpiękniejszych i najwspanialszych oddający cześć,
uwielbienie i miłość do Matki Bożej. Jest najważniejszą z form
kultu maryjnego w Kościele Powszechnym, w szczególności
Bizantyjskim. Powstał w V-VI wieku. Do Kościoła
Zachodniego został przeniesiony w VIII wieku. Treścią
Akatystu jest rola macierzyństwa Maryi w historii zbawienia.
Akatyst wywarł ogromny wpływ na pobożność maryjną
(Litania Loretańska i „Godzinki” ku czci NMP). Św. Jan
Paweł II zatwierdził recytację tego Hymnu jako jedną z praktyk
religijnych umożliwiających uzyskanie odpustu zupełnego.
