Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not

GOD’S REIGN
By pointing to the end times, today’s readings
speak to the coming reign of God, when God
will make all things new. In Christ, this time
has already begun. We, by our energized watchfulness, can further God’s reign. We can heal
broken hearts, free captives, spread the Good News. Even so,
the reign of God will not be complete without the second comings of Christ. Our weekly Eucharistic gathering is a sign of
the fullness of the end times. At Mass we join as an assembly
to recall and to claim the story of Jesus as our own. Together
we give thanks to God for the many gifts bestowed upon us.
We receive nourishment in the simple but profound meal. And
our weak and weary selves are invigorated and transformed by
the power of Christ, so that we ourselves might become effective signs of God’s reign present and to come.
This week’s second collection is designated
for Hurricane Sandy Relief.

DONATIONS FOR HURRICANE SANDY VICTIMS
Most Reverend Bishop Robert McManus asks us pray for the
people of New York and New Jersey who are trying to rebuild
their lives following the unimaginable devastation caused by
Hurricane Sandy. It has been more than two weeks since all
these lives were changed. They are still living through dire
hardship to take care of their families.
The second collection this weekend will be forwarded to
Catholic Charities USA who are coordinating massive relief
efforts with local authorities. Please be generous in your assistance to our brothers and sisters.
YOUTH GROUP MASS
This Sunday, November 18th we welcome the Youth Group
to join us for the 9:30am Liturgy. We are pleased to introduce
Mrs. Christina Ralph as our new Youth Ministry Coordinator.
We invite youngsters from grade 3 through grade 12 to become a member of this group to discover the many activities
and programs that are available for them especially during the
Advent and Christmas seasons.
St. Anne Society - will hold their next meeting on Mon., Nov.
19th at 6:45pm in the school conference room.
THANKSGIVING DAY
On Thursday, November 22nd, we observe a special day of
Thanksgiving throughout the nation. It is the time to thank God
for all the blessings received during the year and share the day
with family members. Before we celebrate during the day it
would be appropriate and desirable to come to church for the
6:30 or 8:30am Mass in thanksgiving for many gifts received.
We extend a joyful, blessed and happy family day to all our
parishioners, visitors, school children and their parents, the parish staff as well as the principal and faculty.

ALTAR SERVERS
We are pleased to announce that we have added six new candidates to our Altar Servers. Next Sunday, Nov. 25th we will
introduce these new faces to our existing group of youngsters
who serve our parish community on a weekly basis.
WHAT IS A CATHOLIC SCHOOL?
In a common conversation parents and grandparents very often discuss education of children and formation of character in
various schools, public and Catholic. The best education is
provided in any school whose Christian anthropology is the
foundation of education and addresses all the aspects of a human person. For example, materialistic anthropology, which is
the foundation of many public schools, does not include in its
educational philosophy the spiritual side of a human being.
Practically speaking we could see young people today physically strong, totally dependent on their own abilities who are
capable of destructive behavior which if not corrected becomes
the habit of life. Their life is disconnected from the spirituality,
values and God. You could have a person who, e.g., is very
much attuned to the esthetics in his life, listens to classical music, can hug a child and yet could be abusive in his relationship
with others. If such a person who depends on his own strengths
and resources gets in trouble in his life he has no place to return because he was never exposed to the full dimension of
humanity. The Christian anthropology on which Catholic
schools base their education provides an integrated approach to
human life, and addresses all the important components of the
individual —material, spiritual and openness for God’s grace,
God’s love and one’s neighbor.
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST THE KING
That He would reign in our hearts. In 1925, Pope Pius XI
instituted the Feast of Christ the King in his encyclical letter
Quas Primas, in response to growing nationalism and secularism around the world. He had the foresight to realize that secularism could soon wage awful wars against the Church.
During the early twentieth century, in Mexico, Russia and in
many parts of Europe, atheistic regimes threatened not just the
Catholic Church and its faithful but civilization itself. Pope
Pius XI’s encyclical gave Catholics hope and—while governments of men around them crumbled—the assurance that Christ
the King shall reign forever.
While we hope and pray that the dark times of almost a century ago remains in the past, a troubling recent report shows
that religious intolerance is on the rise worldwide, including in
the United States. Therefore, we must remain vigilant when
our first American freedom protected under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is threatened.
The solemnity of Christ the King which closes the liturgical
year will be celebrated next Sunday, November 25th. It is an

CHRISTMAS DINNER AND TREE LIGHTING
Our annual tree lighting ceremony will take place on Sat.,
Dec. 8th after 4:00pm Mass followed by a ham and turkey
dinner in the school cafeteria. Tickets will be on sale after all
Masses each weekend through Dec. 2. Adults $10 and children
under 12—$5. Join us for an evening that promises to be
special. This event is being coordinated by the 125th Jubilee

KRÓLESTWO BOŻE
Kierując nasza uwagę na koniec czasów,
dzisiejsze czytania mówią o nadchodzącym
Królestwie Bożym, kiedy to Bóg uczyni
wszystko nowe. W Chrystusie ten czas już się
rozpoczął. My możemy to Królestwo
rozprzestrzeniać poprzez wspomaganie złamanych na duchu,
uwalnianie zniewolonych i głoszenie Dobrej Nowiny. Nie
mniej jednak Królestwo Boże nie nadejdzie w pełni bez
ponownego przyjścia Chrystusa. Nasza cotygodniowa
Eucharystia jest znakiem pełni czasów, gdyż wtedy
przywołujemy i głosimy Jezusowa historię zbawienia. Razem
dziękujemy Bogu za wiele darów, którymi nas obdarzył.
Otrzymujemy pokarm w prostej, ale skutecznej formie tak, że
nasze słabości i zniewolenia są przemieniane mocą Chrystusa
tak, iż my sami możemy stawać się efektywnymi znakami
Królestwa Bożego, tego które już jest i tego, które nadchodzi.
Dzisiejsza druga kolekta jest przeznaczona
na pomoc dla ofiar Huraganu Sandy.
W następną niedzielą druga kolekta będzie przeznaczona

MSZA MŁODZIEŻOWA
Dzisiejszej niedzieli gościmy Grupę Młodzieżową na Mszy św. o
godz. 9:30. Przy okazji będziemy mieli możliwość poznać panią
Christyna Ralph, która jest nową koordynatorką Grupy Młodzieżowej.
Do Grupy zapraszamy dzieci i młodzież od klasy trzeciej do
dwunastej.
ŚWIĘTO DZIĘKCZYNIENIA
W czwartek 22 listopada obchodzimy Święto Dziękczynienia. Jest to
czas na podziękowanie Bogu za wszelkie łaski otrzymane od Boga w
ciągu ostatniego roku. To również czas, który warto dzielić z
najbliższymi. Zachęcamy, aby świętowanie tego dnia rozpocząć Mszą
świętą o godz. 6:30 lub 8:30 rano i ofiarować ją z dziękczynieniem za
wszelkie doświadczone dobro.
WIADOMOŚCI SZKOLNE
Święto Dziękczynienia -We wtorek, 20 listopada o godz. 11:30
Szkoła Św. Józefa będzie obchodzić Święto Dziękczynienia. Jest to
zawsze wydarzenia oczekiwane z radością przez uczniów, którzy
zasiądą przy stole, podobnie jak w domu, w duchu wdzięczności Bogu
za wiele otrzymanych błogosławieństw. Jest to doskonała okazja dla
wszystkich uczniów, zarządu HSA, pracowników szkoły i plebanii,
aby uczcić ten tradycyjny i znaczący dzień. Będziemy również
zaszczyceni obecnością pana senatora Richard’a Moore i pana Ryan’a
Fattman. W tym roku dzieci zaprosiły także weteranów, aby
podziękować im za ich poświęcenie i uczyć się od nich ducha
patriotyzmu. Jak zawsze przy takiej okazji eksponowane są duchowe,
kulturowe i społeczne elementy, które podkreślają radość uczniów.
NOWI MINISTRANCI
W najbliższą niedzielę, w Uroczystość Chrystusa Króla
Wszechświata przyjmiemy nowych ministrantów do naszej
Liturgicznej Służby Ołtarza. W tym roku mamy aż sześcioro
kandydatów, którzy od września przygotowywali się na tę szczególną
posługę. Przyjęcie nowych ministrantów odbędzie się na Mszy św. o
godz. 9:30. Prosimy o modlitewne wsparcie dla naszych ministrantów.
CZYM JEST SZKOŁA KATOLICKA?
We wspólnych rozmowach rodzice i dziadkowie bardzo często
dyskutują wartość edukacji dzieci i kształtowanie ich charakteru w
różnych szkołach, publicznych i katolickich. Najlepsza edukacja jest
proponowana w szkole, w której antropologia chrześcijańska jest
fundamentem kształcenia i odnosi się do wszystkich aspektów osoby
ludzkiej. Na przykład, materialistyczna antropologia, która niestety jest
podstawą formacji w szkołach publicznych, nie zawiera w swojej
edukacyjnej filozofii duchowej strony człowieka. Praktycznie rzecz
biorąc, możemy zobaczyć dzisiaj młodych ludzi silnych fizycznie,
całkowicie polegających swoich możliwościach, którzy są zdolni do
destrukcyjnych zachowań, które jeśli nie zostaną w porę skorygowane
mogą prowadzić do bardzo złych nawyków i wypaczeń osobowości.
Ich życie jest odłączony od duchowości, wartości i Boga. W
konsekwencji możemy mieć człowieka, który z jednej strony np.
przejawia wrażliwość na estetykę życia, słucha muzyki klasycznej,
może przytulić dziecko a drugiej strony może być bardzo
destruktywny w relacjach z innymi. Jeśli taka osoba, która polega
tylko na własnych mocnych strona i umiejętnościach, ma kłopoty w
życiu, nie ma gdzie powracać i szukać oparcia, bo nigdy nie miała
możliwości rozwoju pełnego wymiaru swojego człowieczeństwa.
Antropologia chrześcijańska, na której szkoły katolickie bazują
edukację, zapewnia zintegrowane podejście do ludzkiego życia i
odnosi się do wszystkich ważnych elementów osobowości materialnych, duchowych oraz otwiera na łaskę Bożą, miłości Boga i
bliźniego.
OFIARY NA POSZKODOWANYCH PRZEZ HURAGAN
Jego Ekscelencja Biskup Robert McManus prosi nas o modlitewne
wsparcie mieszkańców Nowej Anglii i New Jersey, którzy próbują
odbudować
swoje
życie
po
niewyobrażalnych
stratach
spowodowanych przez huragan Sandy. Od ponad dwóch tygodni, od
kiedy ich życie uległo radykalnej zmianie, starają się sprostać
codziennym potrzebom i wyzwaniom.

NASZ PAN JEZUS CHRYSTUS, KRÓL WSZECHŚWIATA
Ażeby On królował w naszych sercach. W 1925 roku papież Pius
XI, w odpowiedzi na rosnący nacjonalizmu i sekularyzmu na całym
świecie, w swojej encyklice Quas Primas ustanowił święto Chrystusa
Króla. Miał wkrótce przekonać się, że sekularyzm może toczyć
straszne wojny przeciwko Kościołowi. Na początku XX wieku, w
Meksyku, Rosji oraz w wielu częściach Europy, ateistyczne reżimy
groził nie tylko Kościołowi Katolickiemu i jego wiernym, ale również
samej cywilizacji. Encyklika papieża Piusa XI dała katolikom nadzieję
i – podczas gdy rządy ludzkie wokół rozpadały się – pewność, że
Chrystus Król będzie królował na wieki.
Choć mamy nadzieję i modlimy, że ciemne czasy z przed prawie
wieku pozostaną w przeszłości, niepokoją najnowsze raporty
pokazujące, że wzrasta nietolerancja religijna na całym świecie, w tym
także w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Dlatego musimy zachować czujność,
kiedy nasza pierwotna wolność chroniona przez Pierwszą Poprawkę do
Konstytucji USA jest zagrożona.
Uroczystość Chrystusa Króla, która zamyka Rok Liturgiczny,
będziemy obchodzili w najbliższą niedzielę, 25 listopada. Jest to
okazja dla wszystkich wiernych z Bazyliki Świętego Józefa do wzięcia
udziału w adoracji eucharystycznej od 12:00 do 15:00. Prosimy
organizacje parafialne do wzięcia udziału w adoracji według
następującego programu: Rada Parafialna 12:30-13:00, Sacred
Heart Society 13:00-13:30; Holy Rosary Sodality 13:30-14:00, St .
Anne Society / St. Josepha Polish Women’s Club 14:00-14:30;
Szafazre Eucharystii 14:30-15:00. Oczywiście, wszyscy parafianie są
zaproszeni do adoracji i na nabożeństwo z koronki do Miłosierdzia
Bożego o godz. 15:00
JUBILEUSZOWE DVD
Pamiątkowe DVD (zestaw 2 płyt) z Mszy i bankietu naszej
Uroczystości Jubileuszowej będą możliwe do nabycia przy wejściach
do bazyliki, w sobotę 17 listopada i niedzielę 18 listopada, po
wszystkich Mszach, w cenie 15 dolarów.
RELIGIA
Spotkanie dzieci i rodziców do I Komunii Św. odbędzie się w
poniedziałek 19 listopada o godz. 17:30 z szkolnej kafeterii.
Bierzmowanie. Spotkania przygotowawcze dla kandydatów do
bierzmowania będą odbywały się w każdą drugą i czwartą niedzielę
miesiąca (wyjątkowo w tym miesiącu drugie spotkanie w trzecią
niedzielę, 18 listopada). Najbliższe spotkanie 18 listopada w sali
konferencyjnej w szkole o godz. 8:30. Po spotkaniu wspólna
Eucharystia o godz. 9:30 (Msza z Grupą Młodzieżową). Kolejne
spotkanie w następną niedziele 25 listopada. Obecność kandydatów
jest obowiązkowa.
ROK WIARY
Dzień św. Józefa - w okresie adwentu, w środy rozpoczynamy Msze
św. wotywne o godz. 08:30 na których będziemy prosić Boga o
potrzebne łaski za wstawiennictwem św. Józefa. Jesteśmy bardzo
zadowoleni, że wiele osób zwraca się z prośbą o informacje na temat
nowenny do Św. Józefa oraz wyraża zainteresowanie środową Mszą.
Zachęcamy wszystkich parafian do zawierzenia się św. Józefowi w
szczególnych potrzebach.
ZAPALENIE CHOINKI
Nasza coroczna ceremonia zapalenia choinki odbędzie w sobotę, 08
grudnia po Mszy św. o godz. 16:00. Po niej zapraszamy na
poczęstunek w stołówce szkolnej. Bilety na poczęstunek będą w
sprzedaży po wszystkich Mszach w cenach: dorośli 10 dolarów i dzieci
do 12 lat - 5 dolarów.
