An Indoor and Outdoor Flea Market is being planned
to be held on the Social Center grounds (outside) and
also in the building. Please reserve these dates: Saturday, June 12 and Sunday June 13, 2010. The Flea
Market will begin at 8:00 A.M. and end at 6:00 P.M.
Spaces will be available at the following prices:
► One day sale: $20
► Two day sale:$35 for the space plus $5 for each table if neededIndoors only.
► Sellers (outside) may bring their own tables and tents.

Payment is due no later than Tuesday, June 1, 2010 by 5PM.
There are 13 weeks before we begin our Parish
Carnival and Summer Fest that will begin on
Thursday August 19th so there is certainly
enough time for everyone to put forth their best
effort to sell their raffle book for the benefit of our
parish. Each ticket sells for just $5.00 and the
cost of the entire raffle book is $100.
The first Early Bird Raffle drawing for a $100 cash prize will be held on
Sunday, May 23rd at the 8:30 A.M. Mass. The entire raffle book must
be sold by this date in order to participate in the Early Bird Raffle. The
cover of the raffle book is used for all Early Bird drawings.
The Religious Education Program is in need of two catechists
for the 2010-2011 school year. If you would like to share your
faith and teach the Good News of Jesus to the students in the
program, please call the rectory at (708) 652-0948 and leave
your name and phone number.
Classes are taught in the English language. The 18 class sessions are scheduled on alternate Saturdays beginning in September and ending the second week of May.

Jesus commissions
His disciples to baptize in His name, reminding them that He
is always present
through His Spirit.
Jesus ascended to
His Father amid cries
of gladness, entering
into the heavenly
sanctuary. We are
called to be His witnesses, mindful of the
great hope to which
we are called.
Jesus is taken to heaven and the disciples remain in Jerusalem awaiting His sending of the Spirit.
Today is our liturgical celebration of the Ascension of the
Lord, when Jesus was taken to heaven on the 40th day
after Easter. In Cycle C, our Gospel is taken from the conclusion of the Gospel of Luke.
There are similarities in the reports of Jesus' Ascension
found in the Synoptic Gospels—Mark, Matthew, and Luke.
In each account, Jesus assigns his disciples the task of
proclaiming the Gospel to the entire world. There are also
notable distinctions. In the Gospels of Mark and Matthew,
the disciples are sent by Jesus to baptize as well as to
preach. In Luke's Gospel, however, this commission to
baptize is absent. Instead, Jesus directs the disciples to
return to Jerusalem to await the fulfillment of his promise
to send them the Holy Spirit. Curiously, only Mark and
Luke actually report Jesus' Ascension into heaven. Matthew's Gospel concludes with Jesus' promise to remain
with his disciples forever. Only the Gospel of Mark notes
that Jesus ascended to sit at the right hand of God. In noting this, Mark teaches that Jesus' Ascension affirms the
glory Jesus received from God after his death and Resurrection.
Those who believe in Jesus will be empowered to do
what Jesus himself has done. Already in Mark's Gospel,
during his ministry, Jesus sent his disciples out to preach,
to heal, and to drive out unclean spirits. Now, they are sent
again to do these things and more. From his place with
God in heaven, Jesus helped his disciples, and he continues to help us as we try to live as his followers.

En aquel tiempo dijo Jesús a sus discípulos: Así
estaba escrito: el Mesías padecerá, resucitará
de entre los muertos al tercer día y en su nombre predicará la conversión y el perdón de los
pecados a todos los pueblos, comenzando por
Jerusalén. Y vosotros sois testigos de esto. Yo
os enviaré lo que mi Padre ha prometido; vosotros quedaos en la ciudad, hasta que os revistáis de la fuerza de lo alto. Después los sacó
hacia Betania, y levantando las manos los bendijo. Y mientras los bendecía, se separó de
ellos (subiendo hacia el cielo) Ellos se volvieron
a Jerusalén con gran alegría; y estaban siempre
en el templo bendiciendo a Dios.

Invitamos a participar en la Adoración
del Santísimo Sacramento. Cada Miércoles tenemos la Adoración todo el día. Por
eso les invitamos a encontrar el tiempo
para Cristo e inscribirse para una o dos
horas de adoración. Pueden inscribirse en
la pizarra en la entrada de la iglesia.
Las clases de la catequesis (CCD) para el año
2009/2010 han terminado. Los pendientes pagos pueden hacer en la rectoría. También hay disponibles los
formularios para catequesis en el año escolar
2010/2011 son disponibles en la rectoría.

El día 17 de mayo tiene sus cumpleaños

Felicidades a P. Zbigniew y que Dios le
bendiga todos los días de su vida.
El Rosario esta compuesto de dos elementos: oración mental y oración verbal.
En el Santo Rosario la oración mental no es otra cosa que la
meditación sobre los principales misterios o hechos de la
vida, muerte y gloria de Jesucristo y de su Santísima Madre.
La oración verbal consiste en recitar veinte decenas
(Rosario completo) o cinco decenas del Ave María, cada
decena encabezada por un Padre Nuestro, mientras meditamos sobre los misterios del Rosario.
La Santa Iglesia recibió el Rosario en su forma actual en el
año 1214 de una forma milagrosa: cuando la Virgen se apareciera a Santo Domingo y se lo entregara como un arma
poderosa para la conversión de los herejes y otros pecadores de esos tiempos. Desde entonces su devoción se propagó rápidamente alrededor del mundo con increíbles y milagrosos resultados

Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: Tak jest

Nabożeństwa Majowe!
W niedziele nabożeństwa są celebrowane o godzinie
9:30AM, przed Mszą św. Serdecznie zachęcamy do licznego udziału w tych pięknych maryjnych nabożeństwach.
Wniebowstąpienie Pańskie
Po swym zmartwychwstaniu
Chrystus ukazywał się
uczniom, zaś czterdziestego
dnia na ich oczach wzniósł się
do nieba z Góry Oliwnej.
Określenie "Wniebowstąpienie
Pańskie" pochodzi z opisu,
przekazanego przez św. Łukasza w Dziejach Apostolskich
(Dz 1, 9-11). Ewangeliści piszą o tym fakcie niewiele. Mateusz w ogóle nie mówi o
wniebowstąpieniu, Marek wspomina lakonicznie:
"Po rozmowie z nimi Pan Jezus został wzięty do nieba" (Dz 16, 19). Jan wzmiankuje w formie przepo-

wiedni. Miejscem wniebowstąpienia Jezusa była Góra Oliwna. Z tej góry, gdzie rozpoczęła się męka
Chrystusa, wzięła początek także Jego chwała. Jezus
polecił Apostołom, aby nie odchodzili z Jerozolimy,
lecz by oczekiwali spełnienia obietnicy Zesłania Ducha Świętego (por. Dz 1, 4-5). Po powrocie do Jerozolimy Apostołowie "trwali jednomyślnie na modlitwie razem z niewiastami, Maryją, Matką Jezusa, i
braćmi Jego" (Dz 1, 14).
Pan Jezus tajemnicą swojego Wniebowstąpienia żył
na długo przed jej dokonaniem się. Przy Ostatniej
Wieczerzy wprost zapowiada swoje odejście do niebieskiego Ojca. Motywuje nawet konieczność swego
odejścia:
Wniebowstąpienie jest dniem królewskiej intronizacji Chrystusa, tryumfem, jaki przygotowuje swojemu
Synowi Bóg Ojciec. Stąd wiele radości w tekstach
liturgicznych. Jest ono też poręczeniem powtórnego
przyjścia Chrystusa: "Ten Jezus, wzięty od was do
nieba, przyjdzie tak samo, jak widzieliście Go wstępującego do nieba" (Dz 1, 11). Chrystus powróci dla
ostatecznego tryumfu dobra: powróci, by oddać swemu Ojcu wszystko, by zgromadzić wszystkich i
wszystko w Kościele. Wniebowstąpienie jest nie tylko ostatecznym i uroczystym wywyższeniem Jezusa
z Nazaretu, ale również zadatkiem i gwarancją wywyższenia, wyniesienia do chwały natury ludzkiej.
Nasza wiara i nadzieja chrześcijan zostają dzisiaj
umocnione i utwierdzone, bowiem jesteśmy zaproszeni nie tylko do tego, by rozważać własną małość,
słabość i ubóstwo, ale także ową przemianę wspanialszą aniżeli samo dzieło stworzenia, "przemianę",
której Chrystus w nas dokonuje wówczas, kiedy jesteśmy z Nim zjednoczeni dzięki łasce i sakramentom.
Warto podkreślić, że Pan Jezus wstąpił do nieba nie
sam, ale wziął ze sobą wszystkie dusze świętych z
otchłani. W czasie rozłąki z ciałem przed swoim
zmartwychwstaniem odwiedził je w otchłani i zapowiedział im rychłe wybawienie. Dzisiaj spełnia
obietnicę i triumfalnie wprowadza je do nieba. Ten
dzień jest więc ważnym wydarzeniem dla całego rodzaju ludzkiego. Miejsce zbuntowanych aniołów zajmują w niebie dusze ludzkie, aby na końcu świata
mogły wejść także do chwały ich uwielbione ciała.
Na świętowane dziś wydarzenie używamy określenia
"wniebowstąpienie", gdyż Chrystus własną mocą
wstąpił na niebiosa. Swoją Matkę natomiast, a kiedyś
także nas wszystkich, Chrystus zabierze do nieba.
Stąd mówimy o "wniebowzięciu".

Bożej Rodzicielce odmawiając litanię loretańską do Matki Bożej jak też rozważając
tajemnice różańca świętego.
Zwróćmy uwagę by w tym
miesiącu czy to w sposób prywatny czy też przez
udział w nabożeństwie w kościele tej pięknej tradycji stało się zadość i abyśmy potrafili żyć tak
jak żyła Maryja Matka Chrystusa.
