An Indoor and Outdoor Flea Market will be
held on the Social Center grounds (outside)
and also in the building. Please reserve these
dates: Saturday, June 12 and Sunday June
13, 2010. The Flea Market will begin at 8:00
A.M. and end at 6:00 P.M.
Spaces will be available at the following
prices:
► One day sale: $20
► Two day sale:$35 for the space plus $5 for each table if
needed-Indoors only.
► Sellers (outside) may bring their own tables and tents.

Payment is due no later than Tuesday, June 1, 2010 by 5PM.
If you would like to donate clothing or household items to be
sold at the Flea Market; please bring them to the rectory office.
There are 11 weeks before we begin our
Parish Carnival and Summer Fest that will
begin on Thursday August 19th so there is
certainly enough time for everyone to put
forth their best effort to sell their raffle book
for the benefit of our parish. Each ticket sells
for just $5.00 and the cost of the entire raffle book is $100.
The second Early Bird Raffle drawing for a $100 cash prize will
be held on Sunday, June 27th at the 10 AM. Mass. The entire
raffle book must be sold by this date in order to participate in the
Early Bird Raffle. Those who sell the complete raffle book are
eligible for all three Early Bird Raffle drawings. However, once
you are a winner of an Early Bird, you are no longer eligible for
the next drawing. The cover of the raffle book is used for all
Early Bird drawings.
The Religious Education Program is in need of two
catechists for the 2010-2011 school year. If you
would like to share your faith and teach the Good
News of Jesus to the students in the program,
please call the rectory at (708) 652-0948 and leave
your name and phone number. Classes are taught
in the English language. The 18 class sessions are held on alternate Saturdays beginning in September and ending in May.

THE FEAST OF THE MOST HOLY BODY & BLOOD OF
CHRIST (CORPUS CHRISTI)
Next Sunday, June 6th the Church will celebrate the feast of the
Most Holy Body &
Blood of Christ. Everyone is invited to
participate in the
procession after the
10AM Mass in honor
of this great feast!
Since the Apostolic
Church, Christians
have been celebrating the Eucharist, the meal in which Christians partake of the
body and blood of Christ. Jesus instituted this holy meal on
Maundy (Holy) Thursday. Even though Christians have highly
esteemed all of the sacraments, the Eucharist has traditionally
held a special place among the sacraments. Ignatius of Antioch
(105 AD) referred to the Eucharist as the "medicine of immortality" (Ephesians 20:2). St. Ephrem the Syrian (373 AD) taught
that even crumbs from the Eucharistic host could sanctify thousands and thousands (Homilies 4,4). Thomas Aquinas considered the Eucharist to be the greatest of all sacraments (Summa
Th. III: 65,3). Thus, the Church has viewed the Eucharist as
unique, even among the sacraments, since the earliest times.
Thus it is fitting that a feast exist to specifically commemorate
the Eucharist.
The Catholic Catechism summarizes this teaching of the importance of the Eucharist:
“The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life."
"The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries
and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist
and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ
himself.”" (1324).
Fathers’ Day will be celebrated on June
20th. A very beautiful way to give thanks
and appreciate all that your father, grandfather, Godfather, etc. means to you is to remember them in prayer. Please take home
a “Fathers’ Day” Mass envelope and list the
names of those you wish to remember. The
envelopes can be found at all entrances of the church. All
Masses on the weekend of June 20th will be for the intention of
all Fathers.
St. Odilo parish is sponsoring a FAMILY SUMMER FEST, with
many activities for all, on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 3PM to
8PM.
The Fest will be on the grounds of St. Odilo Parish located at
23rd and East Avenue in Berwyn, IL.
Shuttles for additional parking will be provided.

Ordinary Time begins with a wonderful feast that reminds us of God’s
abiding presence
among us THE SOLEMNITY OF THE
MOST HOLY TRINITY, which celebrates God who is
three distinct persons in one. The
first Sunday after
Pentecost since
1000 A.D. was set
aside to defend the divinity of Jesus as well as define the equality yet distinction of persons among Father-Son-Spirit.
1st reading: (Poverbs 8:22-23).
“Thus says the Wisdom of God. ‘ The Lord possessed me, the
beginning of his ways, the forerunner of his prodigies long ago;
from of old I was poured forth, at the first before the earth.’”
“Wisdom” (known in Greek as “Sophia” and in Hebrew as
“Hokmah”) is personified here as God’s helpmate, assisting in
the creation of the world. God pours himself both into the plans
as well as into nature. His presence is mirrored in creation as
the work of both the architect and the craftsman - the Father as
well as the Son.
2nd reading - Romans 5: 1-5 “Brothers and Sisters: therefore
we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God
through Our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained
access y faith to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in
hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5: 1-2)
Paul outlines the reason for our “boastfulness” and the process of “justification” by which we are saved. That begins with
our acceptance of “our afflictions.” Afflictions, we are told lead to
endurance, endurance to proven character, and proved character to hope. All three Persons of the Trinity, moreover, are involved in this process.
“Jesus said to his disciples, ‘I have
much more to tell you, but you cannot hear it now. But when he
comes, the Spirit of Truth, he will guide you to all things.”
Gospel - John 16:12-15
The invitation for us to be part of the “Trinitarian family” is the
gist of the Lord’s farewell discourse here in the gospel of John.
The completion of truth, the fulfillment of love and the guarantee
of true and lasting peace come to the apostles only with the
arrival of the Holy Spirit through the Son with the Father’s approval.

cosas me quedan por deciros, pero no podéis cargar
con ellas por ahora: cuando venga él, el Espíritu de la
Verdad, os guiará hasta la verdad plena. Pues lo que
hable no será suyo: hablará de lo que oye y os comunicará lo que está por venir. Él me glorificará, porque
recibirá de mí lo que os irá comunicando. Todo lo
que tiene el Padre es mío. Por eso os he dicho que
tomará de los mío y os lo anunciará.

Invitamos a participar en la Adoración del
Santísimo Sacramento. Cada Miércoles
tenemos la Adoración todo el día. Por eso
les invitamos a encontrar el tiempo para
Cristo e inscribirse para una o dos horas de
adoración. Pueden inscribirse en la pizarra
en la entrada de la iglesia.
Las clases de la catequesis (CCD) para el año
2009/2010 han terminado. Los pendientes pagos pueden hacer en la rectoría. También hay disponibles los
formularios para catequesis en el año escolar

La Santísima Trinidad
En este domingo, que sigue a Pentecostés, celebramos la solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad.
Gracias al Espíritu Santo, que
ayuda a comprender las palabras de Jesús y guía a la verdad
completa (cf. Jn 14, 26; 16, 13),
los creyentes pueden conocer,
por decirlo así, la intimidad de
Dios mismo, descubriendo que él
no es soledad infinita, sino comunión de luz y de amor, vida
dada y recibida en un diálogo
eterno entre el Padre y el Hijo en
el Espíritu Santo, como dice san
Agustín, Amante, Amado y
Amor.
En este mundo nadie puede ver
a Dios, pero él mismo se dio a
conocer de modo que, con el
apóstol san Juan, podemos afirmar: "Dios es amor" (1 Jn 4, 8.
16), "hemos conocido el amor que Dios nos tiene, y hemos creído
en él" (Deus caritas est, 1; cf. 1 Jn 4, 16). Quien se encuentra con
Cristo y entra en una relación de amistad con él, acoge en su alma la misma comunión trinitaria, según la promesa de Jesús a los
discípulos: "Si alguno me ama, guardará mi Palabra, y mi Padre
lo amará, y vendremos a él, y haremos morada en él"

Jezus objawia Tajemnice
Trójcy Świętej
Zanim Pan Jezus wstąpił
do nieba, powie Apostołom te znamienne słowa:
„Idźcie więc i nauczajcie
wszystkie narody, udzielając im chrztu w imię
Ojca i Syna i Ducha
Świętego” (Mt 28,19).
Podobnych tekstów można by przytoczyć więcej.
Kiedy np. Chrystus Pan
zapowiada zesłanie Ducha Świętego na Apostołów, mówi: „Ja zaś będę prosił Ojca, a innego Pocieszyciela da wam” (J 14,16). „A Pocieszyciel, Duch
Święty, którego Ojciec pośle w moim imieniu, On
was wszystkiego nauczy” (J 14,26). „Gdy jednak
przyjdzie Pocieszyciel, którego Ja wam poślę od Ojca, Duch Prawdy, który od Ojca pochodzi, On będzie
świadczył o Mnie” (J 15,26).
Czy jednak Apostołowie rzeczywiście tak pojmowali
i interpretowali powyższe i wiele innych zdań Chrystusa, jak to my rozumiemy dzisiaj? Oni również na
bardzo wielu miejscach odróżniają jako odrębne osoby: Ojca, Syna i Ducha Świętego, chociaż przypisują
im jedną wspólną naturę i wspólne doskonałości.

Zwróćmy uwagę by w tym
miesiącu czy to w sposób prywatny czy też przez
udział w nabożeństwie w kościele tej pięknej tradycji stało się zadość i abyśmy potrafili żyć tak jak
