GREEN JAZDÓW. GREEN MARKET June 27 – September 14, 2014 Inauguration: Friday, 27th June 27, 7.00 PM The commencement of Green Jazdów – a unique and lively summer project from the Centre for th Contemporary Ujazdowski Castle - is on the horizon with the opening happening on the 27 of June. The inaugural weekend will be full of activities for every age group. Participants will have the opportunity to partake in the Picnic of Generations, concerts, film screenings, workshops for children and adults, as well as lectures from known figures amid the world of economics. The project will officially begin on Friday at 7:00 PM. This year's edition of the Green Jazdów project will be held under the slogan "Green Jazdów. Green Market" The focal point this year will center around the relationship between ecology and economy. Through special workshops, lectures, discussions and debates, the organizers want to dig deeper into issues concerning ecological economics and business models that differ from the dominant ones. The exhibition “Slow Future” will open synchronously with this year’s inauguration of Green Jazdów at the th Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle (27 of June at 7:00 PM). The show will provide a specific illustration to the themes that will emerge throughout Green Jazdów. The theme of the exhibition is degrowth, in other words, a social movement postulating a reduction in the scale of production and consumption. A debate will be held explaining exactly what degrowthists do after the opening at 8:30 PM; in attendance: Jota Castro, Aleksandra Wasilkowska, Nuria Güell and Michał Augustyn. In addition to the meeting, the organizers would like to invite everyone to a concert from Bajzel afterwards at 10:00 PM. This extraordinary artist, using drum samples, vocals and guitar sounds, creates compositions sounding like those carried out by several people. Concurrently, those who love cinema will be able to watch the movie "El Mariachi" directed by Robert Rodriguez. For those not yet ready to go home, a DJ set will begin at midnight after the film screening and concert. th On Saturday, the 28 of June, a spatial installation with the markets of Różyc Bazaristan (Różyc Market) will begin to function. Its author is a Polish architect - Aleksandra Wasilkowska, whose works will also be displayed in the exhibition "Slow Future." Once the market opens, products from manufacturers and importers of organic food will be sold - Groser Sery Kozie (Goat Cheese Groser), olives from Morocco, the Real Zieleniak, Pole Ruchu (Field of Move) and Nomada. At 1:00 PM, the Picnic of Generations will start, crowning the Parade of Seniors which has been organized by the Zaczyn Foundation. One of the great attractions will be the concert from Irena Santor. On the same day at 7.00 PM, the lecture program "Holiday Economics” will kick off with the first lecture given by Professor Mary Mellor, founder of the Sustainable Cities Research Institute and creator of the World Economics Association. During the lecture, the famous researcher will present her proposal for monetary reform, whose goal is to make money from the common good, managed of course in a democratic way. During the following weekends, the program will be hosted by, amongst others: Tomáš Sedláček, economist, writer and lecturer at the Charles University in Prague, former economic adviser to the President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Havel, a member of the National Economic Council of the Czech Republic to the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic; Charles Eisenstein, postgrowth activist author of books and a speaker touching upon themes of civilization, consciousness, money, and human cultural evolution. The starting point of all the meetings are visions, ideas, and strategies for the more commonly understood economy, which have the power to create alternatives amid the avalanche of crises of the modern world. At 9:00 PM, a concert from the dance, folk band Janusz Prusinowski Trio will ensue, and at 10:00 PM screening of the cult film "Mad Max" from 1979.
