English Catholic Family Radio invites you to a Gala Concert on the Occasion of the Canonization of John XXIII and John Paul II on May 3, 2014 at 7:00pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Exhibition Place in Toronto. The Honourary Patron of this event is Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of Toronto. This unforgettable gala will bring together Canadian soloists, three tenor priests from Poland forming the trio: SERVI DOMINI CANTORES, Toronto choir and symphony orchestra Toronto Sinfonietta, conducted by Matthew Jaskiewicz. Throughout the gala concert there will be video excerpts from various events and pilgrimages of John Paul II. Come and celebrate with us! BACKGROUNDER The Objective The organizers, on behalf of all people of good will, are preparing a major Canonization Gala Concert in thanksgiving for the service and witness of His Holiness blessed John Paul II and blessed John XXIII, on the occasion of their canonization. Children, youth, families, international performers, political officials and representatives of diverse cultures and faiths will all have meaningful roles in this momentous event. When will it take place? This Canonization Gala Concert will take place on Saturday, May 3 rd, 2014, at 7:00 pm. Where will it take place? The Canonization Gala Concert will take place at Queen Elizabeth Theatre, 190 Princes Boulevard, Exhibition Place, Toronto, Ontario, M6K 3C3. Who will be there? The concert will feature world-class opera performers, classical and contemporary musicians, as well as representatives from the political, film, and media realms. Well-known performers will include: Servi Domini Cantores of Poland: Fr. Rafał Kobylinski SJ - Tenor, Fr Pawel Sobierajski – Tenor, Fr. Zdzislaw Madej – Tenor, Maria Knapik – Sopran, Susan HooKong-Taylor who performed at World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto, 100-Voice Choir, Maestro Matthew Jaskiewicz and the symphony orchestra.
