Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland A winter like never before! 2012-01-03 In 2012, Poland will host three World Cup skiing events. For the first time ever, ski racers will strive to win their World Cup points in our country, at Polana Jakuszycka in Szklarska Poręba. Zakopane, in turn, has been hosting the best ski jumpers every year since the 2001/2002 season. • 20-21 January 2012, Zakopane: World Cup – men’s ski jumping • 28-29 January 2012, Szczyrk: World Cup – women’s ski jumping • 17-18 February 2012, Szklarska Poręba: World Cup – ski racing On 28-29 January 2012, Zakopane also planned to host the World Cup Nordic Combined competition. Yet, the plan is not going to be fulfilled. The Organising Committee of the World Cup Nordic Combined competition in Zakopane informed the Polish Ski Association that it is not possible to prepare the racing trails on time. In view of this, we notified FIS that the event had to be cancelled – said Grzegorz Mikuła, Secretary General of the Polish Ski Association.
