Summary of the STOW project work meeting
Meeting called by Project Leader was held on Thursday, November 20, 2013 at 16.00, in the form of
conference call.

Topic #1 Introduction
Introduction was made by Krzysztof Damaziak.
Topic #2 Summary of the SWTs review done by MUT
Based on the review sent earlier, MUT proposed general properties of the new SWT. These properties were
derived from the economical indicators and general mechanical constrains. The proposal was thoroughly
discussed.
Topic #3 Summary of the parametric study done by TUL
TUL presented results of the study done in terms of different layouts and types of existing turbines. The
study was aimed towards selection of the most promising design in terms of energetic effectiveness and
future optimization.
Topic #4 Conclusions
Based on the presented results and followed discussion, conclusion on the SWT layouts for future detailed
investigations were selected. General properties of the SWT, discussed in Topic #1 were also accepted. It
was decided, that:




Developed SWT will be an will not be the primary, but an additional source of energy in the holding.
Annual energy produced by new SWT should not be lower than 1200 kWh
Diameter of the rotor should not exceed 2m
The following aerodynamic layouts will be investigated:
o DAWT
o DAWT without central hub
o VAWT
o TUL concept of double rotor turbine
