Prayer for a Blessing on the New Year
O sacred and adorable Trinity, hear our prayers on behalf of our
holy Father the Pope, our Bishops, our clergy, and for all that
are in authority over us. Bless, we beseech Thee, during the
coming year, the whole Catholic Church; convert heretics and
unbelievers; soften the hearts of sinners so that they may return
to Thy friendship; give prosperity to our country and peace
among the nations of the world; pour down Thy blessings upon
our friends, relatives, and acquaintances, and upon our enemies, if we have any; assist the poor and the sick; have pity on
the souls of those whom this year has taken from us; and do
Thou be merciful to those who during the coming year will be
summoned before Thy judgment seat. May all our actions be
preceded by Thy inspirations and carried on by Thy assistance,
so that all our prayers and works, having been begun in Thee,
may likewise be ended through Thee.

The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph
Gospel Reading
Luke 2:22-40 (or shorter form: Luke 2:22,39-40)
Mary and Joseph present Jesus at the Temple in accordance with the Law of Moses.
Background on the Gospel Reading
Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the
Holy Family. This celebration is assigned to the Sunday
within the octave of Christmas. The Gospel for today is
taken from the Gospel according to Luke and is part of
Luke's Infancy Narrative.
Today's Gospel describes the presentation of the
child Jesus in the Temple and shows Joseph and Mary
as devout Jews, following the prescriptions of the Law of
Moses. The Gospel alludes to several aspects of the
Law of Moses: circumcision, the dedication of the
firstborn son to the Lord, and the purification of a woman
after childbirth.
According to the Law of Moses as presented in
the Book of Leviticus, a woman was considered ritually
unclean during her menstrual period and for a prescribed period of time following the birth of a child. After
the birth of a son, a woman was considered ritually unclean for 40 days. After the birth of a daughter, a woman
was considered unclean for 80 days. In order to be restored to ritual purity, a Jewish woman performed the
appropriate rites of purification and made the prescribed
ritual offering.
Today's Gospel notes that Jesus was circumcised on the eighth day after his birth, in accordance
with the Mosaic Law. At that time, he was called Jesus,
the name he was given by the angel Gabriel. On the
40th day after Jesus' birth, Mary performed the appropriate purification rites and made her offering at the Temple. Although the Law of Moses required an offering of a
lamb, those who could not afford a lamb could substitute
two turtledoves or two pigeons. In this scene, Luke identifies Joseph and Mary as being poor, and indeed
throughout Luke's Gospel, Jesus will show special concern for the poor.
Another Jewish rite referenced in this Gospel is
the dedication of the firstborn son to the Lord. In remembrance of the feast of Passover, when the firstborn children of the Israelites in Egypt were saved from death,
the Law of Moses prescribed that all firstborn males of
Israel should be consecrated to the Lord. In this tradition, Mary and Joseph present the infant Jesus in the
Temple in Jerusalem.
In Jerusalem, Luke reports that Mary and Joseph
encounter two devout Jews, Simeon and Anna, who recognize the infant Jesus as the fulfillment of Israel's hope
for redemption. In Simeon's words we find a prediction
of Mary's witnessing of Jesus' death on the cross. The
Canticle of Simeon, also called by its Latin name, Nunc
Dimitis, is prayed at night prayer, or compline, during the
Liturgy of the Hours.

When the days were completed
for their purification according to
the law of Moses, they took him
up to Jerusalem to present him to
the Lord, just as it is written in the
law of the Lord, Every male that
opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord, and to offer the
sacrifice of a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons, in accordance with
the dictate in the law of the Lord.
Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man
was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel; and the Holy
Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he
should not see death before he had seen the Christ of the Lord. He came
in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child
Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, He took him into
his arms and blessed God, saying: “Now Master, you may let your servant
go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the
Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.”
The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about him,
and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother: “Behold, this child
is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will
be contradicted—and you yourself a sword will pierce—so that the
thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe
of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her
husband after her marriage, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four.
She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and
prayer.. And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and
spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem.
When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, they
returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. The child grew and
became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him.

Transcurrido el tiempo de la purificación de María, según la
ley de Moisés, ella y José llevaron al niño a Jerusalén para
presentarlo al Señor, [ de acuerdo con lo escrito en la ley:
Todo primogénito varón será consagrado al Señor, y también
para ofrecer, como dice la ley, un par de tórtolas o dos pichones. Vivía en Jerusalén un hombre llamado Simeón, varón
justo y temeroso de Dios, que aguardaba el consuelo de Israel; en él moraba el Espíritu Santo, el cual le había revelado
que no moriría sin haber visto antes al Mesías del Señor.
Movido por el Espíritu, fue al templo, y cuando José y María
entraban con el niño Jesús para cumplir con lo prescrito por
la ley, Simeón lo tomó en brazos y bendijo a Dios, diciendo:
"Señor, ya puedes dejar morir en paz a tu siervo, según lo
que me habías prometido, porque mis ojos han visto a tu
Salvador, al que has preparado para bien de todos los pueblos; luz que alumbra a las naciones y gloria de tu pueblo,
Israel". El padre y la madre del niño estaban admirados de
semejantes palabras. Simeón los bendijo, y a María, la madre ¿e Jesús, le anunció: "Este niño ha sido puesto para ruina y resurgimiento de muchos en Israel, como signo que provocará contradicción, para que queden al descubierto los
pensamientos de todos los corazones. Y a ti, una espada te
atravesará el alma". Había también una profetisa, Ana, hija
de Fanuel, de la tribu de Aser. Era una mujer muy anciana.
De joven, había vivido siete años casada y tenía ya ochenta
y cuatro años de edad. No se apartaba del templo ni de día
ni de noche, sirviendo a Dios con ayunos y oraciones. Ana se
acercó en aquel momento, dando gracias a Dios y hablando
del niño a todos los que aguardaban la liberación de Israel.
Y ] cuando cumplieron todo lo que prescribía la ley del Señor,
se volvieron a Galilea, a su ciudad de Nazaret. El niño iba
creciendo y fortaleciéndose, se llenaba de sabiduría y la gracia de Dios estaba con él.

Oración por la noche de fin de año
En estos últimos momentos del año que hoy termina,
heme aquí, Señor, en el silencio y en recogimiento
para decirte GRACIAS,
para solicitarte: AYUDA,
para implorarte: PERDÓN.
GRACIAS,
Señor por la paz, por la alegría,
por la unión que los hombres, mis hermanos, me han brindado,
por esos ojos que con ternura y comprensión me miraron.
Por esa mano oportuna que me levanté,
por esos labios cuyas palabras y sonrisa me alentaron,
por esos oídos que me escucharon,
por ese corazón que amistad, cariño y amor me dieron.
Gracias, Señor por el éxito que me estimuló,
por la salud que me sostuvo,
por la comodidad y diversión que me descansaron.

Święto Świętej Rodziny: Jezusa, Maryi i Józefa
Gdy upłynęły dni Ich oczyszczenia według Prawa Mojżeszowego, przynieśli
Je do Jerozolimy, aby Je przedstawić Panu. Tak bowiem jest napisane w
Prawie Pańskim: Każde pierworodne dziecko płci męskiej będzie
poświęcone Panu. Mieli również złożyć w ofierze parę synogarlic albo dwa
młode gołębie, zgodnie z przepisem Prawa Pańskiego. A żył w Jerozolimie
człowiek, imieniem Symeon. Był to człowiek sprawiedliwy i pobożny,
wyczekiwał pociechy Izraela, a Duch Święty spoczywał na nim. Jemu Duch
Święty objawił, że nie ujrzy śmierci, aż zobaczy Mesjasza Pańskiego. Za
natchnieniem więc Ducha przyszedł do świątyni. A gdy Rodzice wnosili
Dzieciątko Jezus, aby postąpić z Nim według zwyczaju Prawa, on wziął Je w
objęcia, błogosławił Boga i mówił: Teraz, o Władco, pozwól odejść słudze
Twemu w pokoju, według Twojego słowa. Bo moje oczy ujrzały Twoje
zbawienie, któreś przygotował wobec wszystkich narodów: światło na
oświecenie pogan i chwałę ludu Twego, Izraela. A Jego ojciec i Matka dziwili
się temu, co o Nim mówiono. Symeon zaś błogosławił Ich i rzekł do Maryi,
Matki Jego: Oto Ten przeznaczony jest na upadek i na powstanie wielu w
Izraelu, i na znak, któremu sprzeciwiać się będą. A Twoją duszę miecz
przeniknie, aby na jaw wyszły zamysły serc wielu. Była tam również prorokini
Anna, córka Fanuela z pokolenia Asera, bardzo podeszła w latach. Od
swego panieństwa siedem lat żyła z mężem i pozostawała wdową. Liczyła
już osiemdziesiąty czwarty rok życia. Nie rozstawała się ze świątynią, służąc
Bogu w postach i modlitwach dniem i nocą. Przyszedłszy w tej właśnie
chwili, sławiła Boga i mówiła o Nim wszystkim, którzy oczekiwali wyzwolenia
Jerozolimy. A gdy wypełnili wszystko według Prawa Pańskiego, wrócili do
Galilei, do swego miasta - Nazaret. Dziecię zaś rosło i nabierało mocy,
napełniając się mądrością, a łaska Boża spoczywała na Nim.

Specjalna kolacja dla wszystkich osób zaangażowanych będzie miała miejsce 10-go stycznia 2015 roku w Social Center. Przyjęcie jest tylko i wyłącznie
dla osób dorosłych, którzy ukończyli 18 lat. Prosimy o wypełnienie poniższej formy i wyrzucenie do
koszyka wraz z niedzielną kolektą do 8-go stycznia

PODZIĘKOWANIE
Dnia 14 grudnia przybył do naszej parafii św. Mikołaj z którym można było zrobić zdjęcie i otrzymać
prezent. Pomysłodawcą i wykonawcą tego wydarzenia była Polska Grupa Biblijna. Można było zjeść
dobre ciasto i wypić dobrą kawę czy herbatę. To
wszystko odbywało się w dobrej atmosferze. Dziękujemy wszystkim osobom i firmom które włączyły się
w przygotowanie spotkania ze św. Mikołajem
zwłaszcza że to wszystko było za darmo. Bóg zapłać
wszystkim!
Pierwsze miejsce
Emilka Jurzyk ma 10 lat .Uczy
się grać na pianinie u Witolda
Sochy. Uwielbia śpiewać. Wygrała „Złotą Nutę”, najwyższą
nagrodę na Festiwalu Piosenki
Religijnej. Było 26 uczestników.
Emilka zakalikowała się do America got talent. Wierzymy że wygra.
