Corpus Christi’s Procession
Everyone is invite to partake in the
procession celebrating Corpus Christi next
Sunday, May 29. The procession will start at
11:30 A.M..
As every year, we will also be needing the help of the young children to throw
petals during the procession.

will be celebrating his 25th priesthood anniversary . More details
about this celebration will be publish in the upcoming bulletins.
Fathers’ Day will be celebrated on June
19th. A very beautiful way to give thanks
and appreciate all that your father, grandfather, Godfather, etc. means to you is to
remember them in prayer. Please take
home a “Fathers’ Day” Mass envelope and
list the names of those you wish to remember. The envelopes can be found at all entrances of the church.
All Masses on the weekend of June 19th will be for the intention
of all Fathers.
Marriage Preparation Classes
Our parish offers pre-Cana classes in Polish
on the second Sunday of every month. There is no
registration require; however, participants must attend the 10:30 a.m. polish mass in order to attend the
class.
Classes in English, and Spanish are offered by
the Archdiocese of Chicago at different churches in
the Chicagoland area. More information about classes

Background on the Gospel
Reading
This week we return to the
liturgical season of Ordinary
Time. This Sunday and next Sunday, however, are designated as solemnities, special days that call our attention to
central mysteries of our faith. Today, on the first Sunday
after Pentecost, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most
Holy Trinity. This feast invites us to consider what we
believe about God, who has revealed himself to us in the
Trinity—one God in three persons.
The verses of today's Gospel come near the end of
Jesus' long discourse at the Last Supper. In the early part
of this discourse, as we saw last week on Pentecost, Jesus
offers assurances to the disciples. Even though he must
leave the disciples, he tells them that they will have a future because of the help he will send them in the Holy
Spirit. In this section he focuses more on the shape of the
future, which will include Jesus' victory over the world
that they will share in. The disciples of Jesus cannot know
the future. They can only know that, whatever shape the
future takes, they will not have to face it alone. They have
the Spirit of Truth, who will continue to provide the
teaching of Jesus in the future.
Reading this passage on Trinity Sunday reinforces
our understanding of the unity shared by the members of
the Trinity. Although the idea of one God in three persons
remains a mystery, we have the assurance that, as Jesus
and the Father share all, Jesus and the Spirit share all.
Saint Bede the Venerable
Feast Day May 25
Saint Bede said of his life, “I
have spent the whole of my
life . . . devoting all of my
pains to the study of the Scriptures, and amid the observances of monastic discipline and
the daily task of singing in church, it has ever been
my delight to learn or teach or write.” Here was a
saint who worked no miracles, saw no visions, and
found no new way to God. He won heaven by doing
the will of God.
Bede was probably born in 672 in England
and by the age of seven was in the monastery school.

At 29, he was ordained a priest. His gifts for writing
and teaching were noticed immediately. He composed 45 books. Thirty were commentaries on Scripture; others were on the lives of the saints and secular subjects. His most widely recognized work was
the Ecclesiastical History of the English People, a
history of the Church of early England and Ireland.
Bede’s whole life was dedicated to faith and learning. He died as simply as he had lived. He summoned the monks to his bed, gave them each homemade gifts, dictated the last line of his book to his
secretary, and died singing the Glory Be, his favorite
hymn. Saint Bede is the patron of historians.

La Santísima Trinidad
En este domingo, que sigue a Pentecostés, celebramos la solemnidad
de la Santísima Trinidad. Gracias al
Espíritu Santo, que ayuda a comprender las palabras de Jesús y guía
a la verdad completa (cf. Jn 14, 26;
16, 13), los creyentes pueden conocer, por decirlo así, la intimidad de
Dios mismo, descubriendo que él
no es soledad infinita, sino comunión de luz y de amor, vida dada y
recibida en un diálogo eterno entre
el Padre y el Hijo en el Espíritu
Santo, como dice san Agustín, Amante, Amado y Amor.
En este mundo nadie puede ver a Dios, pero él mismo se
dio a conocer de modo que, con el apóstol san Juan, podemos afirmar: "Dios es amor" (1 Jn 4, 8. 16), "hemos conocido el amor que Dios nos tiene, y hemos creído en
él" (Deus caritas est, 1; cf. 1 Jn 4, 16). Quien se encuentra
con Cristo y entra en una relación de amistad con él, acoge en su alma la misma comunión trinitaria, según la promesa de Jesús a los discípulos: "Si alguno me ama, guardará mi Palabra, y mi Padre lo amará, y vendremos a él, y
haremos morada en él"

El domingo, 29 de mayo, tendremos la solemnidad del Santísimo Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo. Como siempre es el momento oportuno para manifestar nuestra fe en la presencia
de Jesús en la Eucaristía. Invitamos a toda la comunidad
parroquial para la Procesión con el Santísimo Sacramento
por la calles de nuestro barrio. La procesión comenzará a las
11.30 AM. Después de la procesión habrá misa
en español.
Como cada año todas las niñas estarán invitadas
a participar con sus canastas de pétalos durante
la procesión.

El nombre de Beda o Baeda en
lengua sajona quiere decir oración. San
Beda, padre de la erudición inglesa como
lo definió el historiador Burke, murió a los 63 años en la abadía
de Jarrow, en Inglaterra, después de haber dictado la última
página de un libro suyo y de haber rezado el Gloria Patri. Era la
víspera de la Ascensión, el 25 de mayo del 735. Cuando sintió
que se acercaba la muerte, dijo: He vivido bastante y Dios ha
dispuesto bien de mi vida.
Beda nació en el año 672 de una modesta familia obrera de Newcastle y recibió su formación en dos monasterios benedictinos de Wearmouth y Jarrow, en donde fue ordenado a
los 22 años.
Las dos más grandes satisfacciones de su vida las condensó él mismo en tres verbos: aprender, enseñar, escribir. La
mayor parse de su obra de escritor tiene su origen y finalidad en
la enseñanza. Escribió sobre filosofía, cronología, aritmética,
gramática, astronomía, música, siguiendo el ejemplo de san
Isidro. Pero san Beda es ante todo un teólogo, de estilo sencillo,
accesible a todos.
Se le presenta como uno de los padres de toda la cultura posterior, influyendo, por medio de la escuela de York y la
escuela carolingia, sobre toda la cultura europea. Entre los monumentos insignes de la historiografía queda su Historia eclesiástica gentis Anglorum, que le mereció ser proclamado en el
sínodo de Aquisgrana, en el 836, venerabilis et modernis temporibus doctor admirabilis. Le gustaba definirse historicus verax, historiador veraz, consciente de haber prestado un servicio
a la verdad.
Terminó su voluminosa obra histórica con esta oración: Te pido, Jesús mío, que me concediste saborear con delicia las palabras de tu sabiduría, concederme por tu misericordia
llegar un día a ti, fuente de sabiduría, y contemplar tu rostro. El
Papa Gregorio II lo había llamado a Roma, pero Beda le suplicó
que lo dejara en la laboriosa soledad del monasterio de Jarrow,
del que se alejó sólo por pocos meses, para poner las bases de la
escuela de York, de la que después salió el célebre Alcuino,
maestro de la corte carolingia y fundador del primer estudio
parisiense.
Después de haber dictado la última página de su Comentario a san Juan, le dijo al monje escribano: ahora sosténme
la cabeza y haz que pueda dirigir los ojos hacia el lugar santo
donde he rezado, porque siento que me invade una gran dulzura. Fueron sus últimas palabras.

Jezus objawia Tajemnice
Trójcy Świętej
Zanim Pan Jezus wstąpił
do nieba, powie Apostołom te znamienne słowa:
„Idźcie więc i nauczajcie
wszystkie narody, udzielając im chrztu w imię
Ojca i Syna i Ducha
Świętego” (Mt 28,19).
Podobnych tekstów można by przytoczyć więcej.
Kiedy np. Chrystus Pan
zapowiada zesłanie Ducha Świętego na Apostołów, mówi: „Ja zaś będę
prosił Ojca, a innego Pocieszyciela da wam” (J
14,16). „A Pocieszyciel, Duch Święty, którego Ojciec pośle w moim imieniu, On was wszystkiego
nauczy” (J 14,26). „Gdy jednak przyjdzie Pocieszyciel, którego Ja wam poślę od Ojca, Duch Prawdy,
który od Ojca pochodzi, On będzie świadczył o
Mnie” (J 15,26).
Czy jednak Apostołowie rzeczywiście tak pojmowali i interpretowali powyższe i wiele innych zdań
Chrystusa, jak to my rozumiemy dzisiaj? Oni również na bardzo wielu miejscach odróżniają jako odrębne osoby: Ojca, Syna i Ducha Świętego, chociaż
przypisują im jedną wspólną naturę i wspólne doskonałości.

jest poświęcony Najświętszej Maryi Pannie. W tym miesiącu składamy hołd Bożej Rodzicielce odmawiając litanię loretańską do
Matki Bożej jak też rozważając

Zwróćmy uwagę by w tym miesiącu czy to w sposób prywatny
czy też przez udział w nabożeństwie w kościele tej
pięknej tradycji stało się zadość i abyśmy potrafili żyć
