A. Wymagania formalne
Admittance to the PILSP. All foreign incoming Erasmus law students
are admitted to the PILSP at the Faculty of Law and Administration.
Other students wishing to follow PILSP courses need to apply (please
see PILSP Regulations).
B. Wymagania wstępne
Command of English language on the level of at least B2 (C1 or higher is recommended).

Cele przedmiotu
This course will introduce students to the European and International banking system and enable them to
analyze the relevant legal issues.
This course is designed to familiarize the student with the key principles relating to the modern law of
banking. The class will put theoretical concepts into action through case studies. Students who wish to obtain
a basic knowledge of banking law will benefit from this course. It is also recommended that those who wish
to specialize in banking law take this course as a foundational course, prior to studying the more advanced
banking courses.
Treści programowe
Four main areas will be covered in the course of the Banking Law:
Core Principles of the Law of the Single European Financial Market, European Union regulation of
financial services with emphasis on Polish regulation of banks, the
Uniform Principles for the Establishment and Functioning of Credit Institutions and Banking Supervision.
The structure of international and European banking, banking networks, representative offices, subsidiaries,
foreign banks and credit union will be also examined. We will also discuss the economic function of banks
and compare and contrast banks with other financial institutions.

The student lists the basic institutions of banking law.
Umiejętności
After the course students will be skilled in analyzing of legal acts connected
with banking law; also student will be to use knowledge from the
perspective as a bank's employee and investor.

During the course students will develop their skills in cooperation with each
other during the group works and problem solving tasks; also students will
be able to take an active part in discussions on topics related to banking
law.
