Invitation
To participate in the conference:
“Science for Industry: Necessity is the mother of invention”
Second Networking Event in the field of modern techniques
in geosystem exploration
organized by the Institute of Geological Sciences
of Polish Academy of Sciences (ING PAN)
within the framework of ATLAB project
on September 18th – 20th, 2013
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We kindly invite you to participate in the conference devoted on the development and
strengthening of collaboration among scientific and industrial sectors in the wide area of
application of modern geochemical methods for geosystem exploration.
This is the second of three planned conferences of the “networking event” type, which are
dedicated to different types of private and governmental companies and research institutions
connected with wide aspects of exploration of geological environment, exploration and
sustainable utilization of natural resources, exploration, utilization and protection of
groundwater resources together with mineral and thermal water.
This Second Event will be focused on the application of modern techniques in geosystem
exploration, utilization and protection.
Various aspects of legal and official possibilities of science-industry collaboration, funding
opportunities as well as scientific research commercialization will be presented and
discussed.
Also the newest, cutting-edge research opportunities in the Institute of Geological Sciences
will be introduced and presented.

Conference objectives:
1) Learning of important aspects concerning the ways and possibilities of financial support
acquisition for joint scientific-industrial ventures and projects in Poland and European
Union.
2) Familiarization of participants with the most modern techniques of research on
geosystem exploration applied in the Institute of Geological Sciences (ING PAN), with
special focus on stable and radioactive isotopes and geophysics.
3) Familiarization of participants with variable problems connected with sophisticated
works, research and legal aspects during hydrocarbon exploration and utilization in
different geological systems and social environments.
4) Learning about actual demands for innovative research and technologies in the field of
geological recognition and environmental system description;
5) Seeking possibilities of mutual collaboration among scientific and industrial sector in
various forms, e.g. large innovative projects with external financial support, consulting,
analytical services, experts’ reports, etc.
6) The newest analytical equipment, sampling and measurement technologies for
environmental applications available on the market: companies presentations and
exhibitions.
