Don’t you sometimes say to yourself, “Why do I read
this column? It only costs me money.” And you are
always right…it costs you money. I think I have
figured out why you read it each week. Possibly,
part of the reason you read it regularly is not so
much to spend money (although you obviously do)
as to be able to smile and say – again to yourself –
“I was right; that’s what they want !”
Because we know how good it is to be right all the
time, we will do our best to never let you down. Even
though you came through very generously, the
demand is great for cold cereal, shelf milk, macaroni
and cheese and peanut butter and jelly. Tuna fish is
needed also.
Our sincerest thanks to all of you for giving so
generously to feed the hungry.

Diecezji Rockville Centre. Wspólnota
Polonii na Long Island przyjęła tę
wiadomość z ogromną radością. Składamy
Księdzu Biskupowi Nominatowi serdeczne
gratulacje i ogarniamy go naszą szczerą
modlitwą.

Chłopcy i dziewczynki zainteresowani służbą
ministranta przy ołtarzu, proszeni są o
zgłoszenie się do ks. Janusza. Szczególnie
potrzebujemy ministrantów na mszach
świętych w języku angielskim.

Potrzebujemy obecnie płatków zbożowych / kukurydzianych do jedzenia na zimno, mleka niewymagającego przechowywania w lodówce, makaronu z

galaretki (dżemu) oraz tuńczyka. Dziękujemy

Msza Święta Rodzinna w języku angielskim
odprawiona zostanie o godz. 10:30 w kościele, w
następujących terminach: niedziele: 23 lutego, 16

udziału w tej Mszy św. zapraszamy zwłaszcza

NAJŚWIĘTSZEGO SAKRAMENTU
W środy w godz. od 18:00 do 20:00 w naszej parafii odbywa
się Wystawienie oraz Adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu.
Czas spędzony w ciszy i na modlitwie przed Najświętszym
Sakramentem pomoże nam lepiej otworzyć się na Boże łaski.
ZAMAWIANIE INTENCJI MSZALNYCH
Przyjmujemy intencje mszalne na rok 2014. Ofiara za
intencję wynosi $15. Intencje nie mogą być przyjmowane przez telefon.
Zachęcamy do zamawiania mszy w dni powszednie w
języku angielskim.
Można również uczcić pamięć o swoich bliskich
poprzez złożenie Donacji na Chleb i Wino na dany
tydzień w roku 2014. Donacja wynosi $50.
Osoba mówiąca po polsku dyżuruje w kancelarii

THE BIGGEST “IF” IN HISTORY¹ “IF you obey my voice and keep my covenant . . .” At Mt. Sinai God “offered a covenant of love and a set of ten values – The Ten Commandments – that would “help his beloved people to respond to the divine affection”.² Do we embrace the Ten Commandments as an invitation to love, or do we see them as ten “thou shalt not’s” restraining our freedom? If we look at any one of them and ponder it closely, we will realize that obeying it will lead us to greater freedom and greater love. In the New Testament, Jesus summarized all of the Commandments in the two Great Commandments of love of God and neighbor. If we look at the tremendous violence in our world today, we see that the Ten Commandments have been largely forgotten. Actually, many of them are contradicted by our civil laws. And many of their opposites are encouraged and looked upon as great values. For example, “Thou shalt not covet your neighbors’ goods” is answered with a tremendous greed for wealth and property. Some receive multi‐million dollar salaries while others struggle to put food on the table! “Keep holy the Lord’s Day” has been answered by turning Sunday into a day of commerce and worldly pleasure. And honesty in government is a rare commodity. In today’s Gospel, Jesus enlarges on the commandments and tells his hearers that not the smallest letter of the law will pass away. But on the comforting side, we have St. Paul’s words: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, what God has prepared for those who love him.” “IF you choose you can keep the commandments, they will save you.” ¹A Father Who Keeps His Promises, Scott Hahn. ²The Ten Commandments, Alfred McBride
