Religious Education classes for the 2012-2013 ended on Saturday,
May 11th. Unpaid fees for the past school year can be made at the
rectory - as soon as possible. New registration forms for the 20132014 school year will be available at the rectory throughout the summer months.
During the month of May, it is customary to
participate in the May Crowning of an image of
the Blessed Virgin Mary. We will crown the
statue of Our Lady of Fatima before the 5PM
and the 8:30 AM Masses this Mothers’ Day
weekend. The image of the Blessed Virgin
Mary reminds us of the close ties of Mary to
Christ and His Church.
Today we also celebrate MOTHERS’ DAY and
we honor all of our earthly Mothers in a special
way. May our Blessed Mother shower upon
each of our Mothers her special graces. May
she always be our queen and mother and hold
a special place in our hearts. Happy Mothers’ day to all Mothers!

Luke 24:46-53
Jesus is taken to heaven and the disciples remain in Jerusalem awaiting his sending of the Spirit.
Background on the Gospel Reading
Today is our liturgical celebration of the Ascension of the Lord, when
Jesus was taken to heaven on the 40th day after Easter. In Cycle C,
our Gospel is taken from the conclusion of the Gospel of Luke.
There are similarities in the reports of Jesus' Ascension found in the
Synoptic Gospels—Mark, Matthew, and Luke. In each account, Jesus
assigns his disciples the task of proclaiming the Gospel to the entire
world. There are also notable distinctions. In the Gospels of Mark and
Matthew, the disciples are sent by Jesus to baptize as well as to
preach. In Luke's Gospel, however, this commission to baptize is absent. Instead, Jesus directs the disciples to return to Jerusalem to
await the fulfillment of his promise to send them the Holy Spirit. Curiously, only Mark and Luke actually report Jesus' Ascension into
heaven. Matthew's Gospel concludes with Jesus' promise to remain
with his disciples forever. Only the Gospel of Mark notes that Jesus
ascended to sit at the right hand of God. In noting this, Mark teaches
that Jesus' Ascension affirms the glory Jesus received from God after
his death and Resurrection.
Those who believe in Jesus will be empowered to do what Jesus himself has done. Already in Mark's Gospel, during his ministry, Jesus
sent his disciples out to preach, to heal, and to drive out unclean spirits. Now, they are sent again to do these things and more. From his
place with God in heaven, Jesus helped his disciples, and he continues to help us as we try to live as his followers.

La Ascensión del Señor
En aquel tiempo dijo Jesús a sus discípulos: Así estaba escrito: el
Mesías padecerá, resucitará de entre los muertos al tercer día y en su
nombre predicará la conversión y el perdón de los pecados a todos
los pueblos, comenzando por Jerusalén. Y vosotros sois testigos de
esto. Yo os enviaré lo que mi Padre ha prometido; vosotros quedaos
en la ciudad, hasta que os revistáis de la fuerza de lo alto. Después
los sacó hacia Betania, y levantando las manos los bendijo. Y mientras los bendecía, se separó de ellos (subiendo hacia el cielo) Ellos se
volvieron a Jerusalén con gran alegría; y estaban siempre en el templo bendiciendo a Dios.

Venta de Comida
El día 19 de mayo, en el Makuch Hall estaremos llevando
a cabo una venta de comida polaca. La venta se llevara a
cabo al final de la misa de 10:30 A.M y 12:30 P.M esperamos contar con sus presencias y apetito.
El Rosario esta compuesto de dos elementos: oración mental y oración verbal.
En el Santo Rosario la oración mental no es otra cosa que la meditación sobre los principales misterios o hechos de la vida, muerte y gloria de Jesucristo y de su Santísima Madre.
La oración verbal consiste en recitar veinte decenas (Rosario completo) o cinco decenas del Ave María, cada decena encabezada por un
Padre Nuestro, mientras meditamos sobre los misterios del Rosario.
La Santa Iglesia recibió el Rosario en su forma actual en el año 1214
de una forma milagrosa: cuando la Virgen se apareciera a Santo Domingo y se lo entregara como un arma poderosa para la conversión
de los herejes y otros pecadores de esos tiempos. Desde entonces su
devoción se propagó rápidamente alrededor del mundo con increíbles
y milagrosos resultados

Uroczystość Wniebowstąpienia Pańskiego
Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: Tak jest napisane: Mesjasz będzie cierpiał i trzeciego dnia zmartwychwstanie, w imię Jego głoszone będzie nawrócenie i odpuszczenie grzechów wszystkim narodom, począwszy od Jerozolimy. Wy jesteście
świadkami tego. Oto Ja ześlę na was obietnicę mojego Ojca. Wy zaś pozostańcie w mieście, aż będziecie uzbrojeni mocą z wysoka. Potem wyprowadził ich ku Betanii i podniósłszy ręce błogosławił ich.
A kiedy ich błogosławił, rozstał się z nimi i został
uniesiony do nieba. Oni zaś oddali Mu pokłon i z
wielką radością wrócili do Jerozolimy, gdzie stale
przebywali w świątyni, wielbiąc i błogosławiąc Boga.

Uroczystość Wniebowstąpienia łączył pierwotny
Kościół z tajemnicą Zesłania Ducha Świętego na
Apostołów. Dopiero od IV w. przyjęła się w całym Kościele osobna uroczystość Wniebowstąpienia Pańskiego. Potwierdza ją św. Augustyn
(+430), gdy pisze: "Dzień dzisiejszy świętują na
całym świecie".
Wniebowstąpienie jest dniem królewskiej intronizacji Chrystusa, tryumfem, jaki przygotowuje
swojemu Synowi Bóg Ojciec. Stąd wiele radości
w tekstach liturgicznych: "wszystkie narody klaskajcie w dłonie mówi psalm responsoryjny - radosnym głosem wykrzykujcie Bogu... Bóg wstępuje wśród radosnych okrzyków, przy dźwięku
trąby, śpiewajcie psalmy, śpiewajcie". Natomiast w kolekcie celebrans woła: " Spraw, abyśmy się radowali, ponieważ wniebowstąpienie Twojego Syna jest naszym zwycięstwem". Wreszcie prefacja mówi o radości wiernych i całego świata. Pojawienie się intronizowanego Mesjasza budzi i zdziwienie aniołów, i zachwyt pełen
uznania: "Baranek zabity jest godzien wziąć potęgę i bogactwo, i
mądrość i moc, i cześć, i chwałę, i błogosławieństwo" (Ap 5, 12).
Jezus otrzymuje imię, które jest ponad wszelkie imię (por. Flp 2,
9). Bóg ustanawia Jezusa nad wszelką zwierzchnością, władzą i
panowaniem (Ef 1, 20; II czytanie).
W chwili, w której Jezus rozstaje się z Apostołami, pozostawia im
misję dawania o Nim świadectwa w Jerozolimie, w całej Judei i
Samarii, aż po krańce ziemi (por. Dz 1, 8) oraz głoszenia wszystkim narodom ´nawrócenia i odpuszczenia grzechów´ (Łk 24, 47).

hołd Bożej Rodzicielce odmawiając
litanię loretańską do Matki Bożej jak
też rozważając tajemnice różańca
świętego.
Zwróćmy uwagę by w tym miesiącu czy to w sposób prywatny czy też
przez udział w nabożeństwie w kościele tej pięknej
tradycji stało się zadość i abyśmy potrafili żyć tak jak
żyła Maryja Matka Chrystusa.

W niedziele nabożeństwa są celebrowane o godzinie
10:00AM, przed Mszą św. Serdecznie zachęcamy do licznego udziału w tych pięknych maryjnych nabożeństwach.

Tak jak w każdą niedzielę tak również i
dzisiaj wychodząc z kościoła można nabyć
nowy numer Tygodnika Katolickiego
„Niedziela”. Znajdziemy tam bardzo ciekawe
artykuły na temat życia kościoła w Polsce
także naszej Archidiecezji. Czytając ten
tygodnik a także inne publikacje np.:
„Różaniec”, „Anioł stróż”, „W Naszej
Rodzinie”, „Tak rodzinie” pogłębiamy naszą wiarę oraz
miłość do Boga i Kościoła.
Majowe jedzenie!
Juz dzisiaj zapraszamy wszystkich na parafialna majówkę, która odbędzie się 19-go
maja tuz po polskiej Mszy św. o 10:30 w
sali Makucha. Będziemy serwować smakołyki kuchni polskiej. Prosimy sobie zarezerwować tę datę by mile wspólnie spędzić czas, a dochód z
tej majówki przeznaczony zostanie na potrzeby parafii.
