What must one do in order to receive the special Plenary
Indulgence?
In order to gain this special Indulgence, a Catholic is required first to make sacramental Confession, receive the
Eucharist at Mass, make a profession of faith and offer
prayers for the Supreme Pontiff's intentions.
In addition to and in conjunction with fulfilling these conditions, one may then take part in any of the following
observances of the Jubilee of Mercy.
Each time one visits, in the course of a pilgrimage, the
Cathedral of the Holy Name of Jesus, or a designated Jubilee Parish, and there walks through the designated Holy
Door, and makes a brief visit.

How could I possibly thank you enough, the one who
makes me whole, the one to whom I owe my life, the forming
of my soul.
The one who tucked me in at night, the one who
stopped my crying, the one who was the expert at picking up
when I was lying.
The one who saw me off to school and spent sad days
alone, yet magically produced a smile as soon as I came home.
The one who makes such sacrifices to always put me
first, who lets me test my broken wings, in spite of how it
hurts.
Who paints the world a rainbow when it's filled with
broken dreams, who explains it all so clearly when nothing is
what it seems.

tough, anything I want to say just doesn't seem enough.

What way is there to thank you for your heart, your
sweat, your tears, for ten thousand things you've done for oh so
many years.
For changing with me as I changed, accepting all my
flaws, not loving 'cause you had to, but loving just because.
For never giving up on me when your wits had
reached its end, for always being proud of me, for being my
best friend.
And so I come to realize, the only way to say, the only
thank you that's enough is clear in just one way.
Look at me before you see what I've become, do you
see yourself in me, the job that you have done?
All your hopes and all your dreams, the strength that
no one sees, a transfer over many years, your best was to pass
me.
Thank you for the gifts you give, for everything you
do, but thank you mommy most of all for making dreams come
true.

The Ascension of the Lord
Luke 24:46-53
Jesus is taken to
heaven and the disciples remain in Jerusalem awaiting his
sending of the Spirit.
Background on the Gospel Reading
Today is our liturgical celebration of the Ascension of the Lord, when Jesus was taken to heaven on the
40th day after Easter. In Cycle C, our Gospel is taken
from the conclusion of the Gospel of Luke.
There are similarities in the reports of Jesus' Ascension found in the Synoptic Gospels—Mark, Matthew,
and Luke. In each account, Jesus assigns his disciples the
task of proclaiming the Gospel to the entire world. There
are also notable distinctions. In the Gospels of Mark and
Matthew, the disciples are sent by Jesus to baptize as well
as to preach. In Luke's Gospel, however, this commission
to baptize is absent. Instead, Jesus directs the disciples to
return to Jerusalem to await the fulfillment of his promise
to send them the Holy Spirit. Curiously, only Mark and
Luke actually report Jesus' Ascension into heaven. Matthew's Gospel concludes with Jesus' promise to remain
with his disciples forever. Only the Gospel of Mark notes
that Jesus ascended to sit at the right hand of God. In noting this, Mark teaches that Jesus' Ascension affirms the
glory Jesus received from God after his death and Resurrection.
Those who believe in Jesus will be empowered to
do what Jesus himself has done. Already in Mark's Gospel, during his ministry, Jesus sent his disciples out to
preach, to heal, and to drive out unclean spirits. Now, they
are sent again to do these things and more. From his place
with God in heaven, Jesus helped his disciples, and he
continues to help us as we try to live as his followers.

Year of Mercy. By designating the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis has provided us a graced opportunity to
appreciate more deeply how the mercy of God shapes our
lives and, at the same time, how we can bring that mercy
into the world through our own actions and the way we
live our lives. Catholic Charities exemplifies how we are
to transmit His love and compassion to our brothers and
sisters who are facing tremendous difficulties.
Mother’s Day is the one day set aside for Catholic
Charities to request the financial support of each of us in
the parishes. Please show your support for the great mercy

En aquel tiempo
dijo Jesús a sus

perdón de los pecados a todos los pueblos, comenzando por Jerusalén. Y vosotros sois testigos de esto.
Yo os enviaré lo que mi Padre ha prometido; vosotros quedaos en la ciudad, hasta que os revistáis de la
fuerza de lo alto. Después los sacó hacia Betania, y
levantando las manos los bendijo. Y mientras los
bendecía, se separó de ellos (subiendo hacia el cielo)

El Rosario esta compuesto de
dos elementos: oración mental y
oración verbal.
En el Santo Rosario la oración
mental no es otra cosa que la
meditación sobre los principales
misterios o hechos de la vida,
muerte y gloria de Jesucristo y
de su Santísima Madre.
La oración verbal consiste en
recitar veinte decenas (Rosario
completo) o cinco decenas del
Ave María, cada decena encabezada por un Padre Nuestro,
mientras meditamos sobre los
misterios del Rosario.
La Santa Iglesia recibió el Rosario en su forma actual en
el año 1214 de una forma milagrosa: cuando la Virgen se
apareciera a Santo Domingo y se lo entregara como un
arma poderosa para la conversión de los herejes y otros
pecadores de esos tiempos. Desde entonces su devoción
se propagó rápidamente alrededor del mundo con increíbles y milagrosos resultados

was obietnicę mojego Ojca. Wy zaś pozostańcie
w mieście, aż będziecie uzbrojeni mocą z wysoka. Potem wyprowadził ich ku Betanii i podniósłszy ręce błogosławił ich. A kiedy ich błogosławił,
rozstał się z nimi i został uniesiony do nieba.
Oni zaś oddali Mu pokłon i z wielką radością
wrócili do Jerozolimy, gdzie stale przebywali w
świątyni, wielbiąc i błogosławiąc Boga.

Z okazji Dnia Matki wszystkim mamom składamy jak najserdeczniejsze życzenia zdrowia, obfitości łask Bożych, Bożego błogosławieństwa oraz
stałej opieki Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej na każdy dzień waszego życia. Niech
dobry Bóg wynagrodzi stokrotnie
wasz trud i poświęcenie, drogie
mamy, jakie wkładacie w wychowanie dzieci oraz budowanie ogniska rodzinnego.

Najświętsza Maryja Panna Fatimska
13 maja
W 1916 r. w niewielkiej portugalskiej
miejscowości o nazwie Fatima trójce
pobożnych dzieci: sześcioletniej Hiacyncie, jej o dwa lata starszemu bratu
Franciszkowi oraz ich ciotecznej siostrze, dziewięcioletniej Łucji, ukazał się
Anioł Pokoju. Miał on przygotować
dzieci na przyjście Maryi.
Pierwsze objawienie Matki Najświętszej dokonało się 13 maja 1917 r. Cudowna Pani powiedziała dzieciom: "Nie bójcie
się, nic złego wam nie zrobię. Jestem z Nieba. Chcę was
prosić, abyście tu przychodziły co miesiąc o tej samej porze.
W październiku powiem wam, kim jestem i czego od was
pragnę. Odmawiajcie codziennie Różaniec, aby wyprosić
pokój dla świata". Podczas drugiego objawienia, 13 czerwca,
Maryja obiecała zabrać wkrótce do nieba Franciszka i Hiacyntę. Łucji powiedziała, że Pan Jezus pragnie posłużyć się
jej osobą, by Maryja była więcej znana i kochana, by ustanowić nabożeństwo do Jej Niepokalanego Serca. Dusze, które
ofiarują się Niepokalanemu Sercu Maryi, otrzymają ratunek,
a Bóg obdarzy je szczególną łaską. Trzecie objawienie z 13
lipca przedstawiało wizję piekła i prośbę odmawiania Różańca.
Następnego objawienia 13 sierpnia nie było z powodu aresztowania dzieci. Piąte objawienie 13 września było ponowieniem prośby o odmawianie Różańca. Ostatnie, szóste objawienie dokonało się 13 października. Mimo deszczu i zimna
w dolinie zgromadziło się 70 tys. ludzi oczekujących na cud.
Cudem słońca Matka Boża potwierdziła prawdziwość swoich
objawień. Podczas tego objawienia powiedziała: "Przyszłam
upomnieć ludzkość, aby zmieniała życie i nie zasmucała Boga ciężkimi grzechami. Niech ludzie codziennie odmawiają
Różaniec i pokutują za grzechy".
Chociaż objawienia Matki Bożej z Fatimy, jak wszystkie objawienia prywatne, nie należą do depozytu wiary, są przez
wielu wierzących otaczanych szczególnym szacunkiem. Zostały one uznane przez Kościół za zgodne z Objawieniem
dokonanym przez Chrystusa. Dlatego możemy, chociaż nie
musimy, czerpać ze wskazówek i zachęt przekazanych nam
przez Maryję.
Z objawieniami w Fatimie wiążą się tzw. trzy tajemnice fatimskie. Pierwsze dwie ujawniono już kilkadziesiąt lat temu;
ostatnią, trzecią tajemnicę, wokół której narosło wiele kontrowersji i legend, Jan Paweł II przedstawił światu dopiero podczas swojej wizyty w Fatimie w maju 2000 r. Sam Ojciec
Święty wielokrotnie podkreślał, że właśnie opiece Matki Bożej
z Fatimy zawdzięcza uratowanie podczas zamachu dokonanego na jego życie właśnie 13 maja 1981 r. na Placu Świętego Piotra w Rzymie.

jest poświęcony Najświętszej Maryi Pannie. W tym miesiącu składamy hołd Bożej Rodzicielce odmawiając litanię loretańską do
Matki Bożej jak też rozważając
tajemnice różańca świętego.
Zwróćmy uwagę by w tym miesiącu czy to w sposób prywatny
czy też przez udział w nabożeństwie w kościele tej
pięknej tradycji stało się zadość i abyśmy potrafili żyć
tak jak żyła Maryja Matka Chrystusa.

W niedziele nabożeństwa są celebrowane o godzinie
10:00AM, przed Mszą św. Serdecznie zachęcamy do
licznego udziału w tych pięknych maryjnych nabożeństwach.

Przypominamy, że w każdą
trzecią niedzielę miesiąca w
naszej parafii po Mszy św. o
godz. 10:30 odbywa się kurs
przygotowujący rodziców i
chrzestnych do chrztu dziecka.
Osoby zamierzające ochrzcić
dziecko w naszej parafii są
proszone o zgłoszenie się na
ten kurs prze chrztem dziecka. Dlatego należy
pamiętać, aby:
► zgłosić się do kancelarii parafialnej przynajmniej półtora miesiąca prze chrztem. (Aby
uczestniczyć w kursie przygotowującym)
► Przy zapisaniu chrztu jest wymagany akt urodzenia dziecka.
