We ask all members of our Parish Council to attend our next
meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20th at 7:00pm at the Rectory. There
are many issues to be addressed in this New Year.

WATCHING FOR THE MESSIAH
Today’s Gospel story of John and his disciples seeing and following Jesus sounds so simple and casual, it’s easy to miss the significant
acts of faith that are made.
John points to Jesus: “Look,” he says, “there
is the Lamb of God.” John’s faith in Jesus is evident, so evident that John’s disciples immediately leave his side to follow
this Jesus.
The two disciples make their own act of faith. They follow
Jesus, spend time with him and are quick to spread the good
news of their discovery: “We have found the Messiah.”
It is easy to forget that the expectations of generations, the
hopes of many ages of faithful people were being fulfilled in
these simple acts of faith. The Lamb of God, the Messiah,
foretold by the prophets, had finally come. Nearly everyone
among the Jewish people was watching for the Messiah back
then; who in our own society watches for signs of the presence
of the Messiah today?

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
This will be the last weekend to enjoy the rapture of our Basilica as sadly it is time to remove our Christmas decorations to
be stored away in anticipation of next Christmas.
May the love, kindness and cooperation we experienced
these past weeks live in our hearts and souls throughout 2015.
Once again, may I convey my deepest gratitude to the many
dedicated parishioners who gave of their time and talent to
make our Basilica such an extra ordinary milieu.
DAY OF PRAYER AND PENANCE
On January 22nd, the 42nd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade
decision, we have the opportunity to renew our resolve to live
and proclaim the Gospel of Life. All the faithful of the United
States are called to observe this day in a spirit of prayer for the
full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life and of
penance for the violations to the dignity of the human person
committed through acts of abortion. Let us unite our hearts and
minds through special acts of prayer, fasting and sacrifice on
this day, to uphold the inherent dignity of all human life from
conception to natural death.

CHRISTMAS CHOIRS CONCERT
This year St. Joseph Basilica was selected as the venue for the
regional Christmas Choirs Concert. Last Sunday afternoon,
several choirs from Massachusetts joined our Basilica Polish
and English choirs and presented an innovative musical program. Each choir sang four Christmas carols in polyphonic
style, a cappella or with the accompaniment of musical instruments.
The interior décor of the Basilica with the Nativity Scene
embellished with Christmas trees, poinsettias and lights created
a natural setting for this celebration. Those who attended, visitors and parishioners relived the spirit of Christmas and enjoyed
the melodies and lyrics of this holy season. These carols are
unique in their origin, some were composed by famous poets,
musicians, others by ordinary people. All of them had the capability to captivate the human mind and heart.
Following the concert all the choirs were hosted to a meal at
PAV Club. It was an opportunity to renew the spirit of friendship and camaraderie. We are grateful to Marta Pajak, and the
members of the Polish Choir who invested much time in preparing for this social event.
May the melodies of these beautiful Christmas carols echo in
our hearts throughout the New Year.
DEVOTION AND NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH
Across the Catholic world devotion to St. Joseph is very
popular in the churches, convents, monasteries as well as in
private practice of the faithful. Since our Basilica and school
are dedicated to him, it offers us the opportunity to seek his
assistance in our pastoral ministries.
On Wed., Jan. 21st at 7:00pm, we ask our Lectors to participate by carrying the St. Joseph statue from the Chapel of our
Lady of Czestochowa to the Sanctuary. Each one of us experience various needs which we can present to God through the
intercession of St. Joseph.
We are grateful for the graces requested and offerings you
submit in the petition box. This mass is offered for all the intentions you expressed on the written form.

SCHOOL NEWS
Migration Week Observance - Thank you to all students
who attended the Migration Mass last Sunday at our Basilica.
The children dressed in their native costumes and carrying flags
of various countries and the singing of our children’s choir presented a flair of different cultures during the 9:30 Liturgy. In
our school there are 24 various cultural origins represented who
bring their values, talents and spirituality to share with our
school community and create a beautiful and colorful mosaic of
SJS. This event is sponsored by the United States Conference
of Catholic Bishops and the theme was “One Family under
God”.
After Mass all gathered at our cafeteria to enjoy tasty morsels
to renew and strengthen the bonds of friendship.
We are grateful to the teachers, staff and parents, our music
director and his accompanists for their assistance to intensify
the spirit of National Migration Week.

Schools of Webster to determine the future education of their
children. St. Joseph School provides not only a sound Catholic
Doctrine and forms the character of the students in the values to
benefit humanity, but also instills in children the experience of
God’s love.

The new Saint Joseph Basilica Children’s Choirs CD, featuring SJS
Choir and Bazyliszki will be available in the sacristy after Masses this
weekend or at the rectory. This CD is a collection of 20 traditional and
contemporary Christmas Carols performed by the children of St.
Joseph School and Parish. The cost is $10.
March for Life-to be held on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 in Washington, DC. Registration information is available. Buses will leave St.
Paul’s Cathedral on Jan. 21, travel to DC and return on Jan. 23. Cost
is $85 per seat. Details will be forthcoming.

„Czyż nie wiecie, że ciało wasze jest świątynią Ducha Świętego” (1Kor 6, 19)
Im bardziej oczywista wydaje nam się odpowiedź
na pewne fundamentalne pytania, tym częściej
powinniśmy do nich wracać. „Czego szukacie?” – nad
tym Pan Jezus każe nam dzisiaj się zastanowić.
Przyglądamy się, do czego tak naprawdę dążymy, co nas absorbuje, na
co wskazują nasze codzienne wybory. To pytanie jest też dla nas
wezwaniem do konsekwencji, jednoznaczności, do nawrócenia. Nie
można przecież szukać Chrystusa i zarazem oddawać się grzechowi.
Kto szuka Chrystusa, ten przedstawia mu każdą sprawę, prosząc:
„Mów, Panie, bo sługa Twój słucha”.
MSZA PRO LIFE
Biskup McManus zaprasza w środę, 21 stycznia na godz. 19:30
do katedry na Mszę św. w intencji nawrócenia naszego narodu
i odstąpienia od praktyki aborcji. Wszyscy mieszkańcy Stanów
Zjednoczonych są wezwani do przeżywania tego dnia w duchu
modlitwy o całkowite przywrócenie gwarancji do ochrony życia dla
każdego człowieka, szczególnie zaś dla nienarodzonych dzieci
zagrożonych aborcją. Połączmy nasze serca i umysły w modlitwie,
postach i ofiarach dla wsparcia walki o życie od poczęcia do naturalnej
śmierci.
Tych, którzy nie mogą dołączyć do wiernych w katedrze zapraszamy
na godz. 19:00 do naszej bazyliki, gdzie również będziemy modlili się
w intencji nienarodzonych dzieci i nawrócenia. Specjalne nabożeństwo
będzie odprawione w połączeniu z Nowenną do św. Józefa.

MATIN LUTER KING DAY
W poniedziałek 19 stycznia obchodzimy Martin Luter King Day.
Z racji tego święta szkoła oraz biuro parafialne będą zamknięte.
FINANCE BOARD
W trudnych ekonomicznie czasach, również nasza parafia boryka się
z trudnościami finansowymi. Kilka tygodni temu, Rada Finansowa
zwróciła się z serdeczną prośbą do parafian o zwiększenie ofiar na
rzecz funkcjonowania naszej wspólnoty. W pakiecie na styczeń
znajdują się koperty, które odzwierciedlają tę prośbę. Bardzo prosimy
o uwzględnienie w swoich rodzinnych budżetach również i tej ofiary,
która będzie służyć naszej wspólnocie i ku umacnianiu Kościoła
Chrystusowego. Bóg zapłać wszystkim ofiarodawcom!!!
KONCERT KOLĘD
W tym roku bBazylika św. Józefa po raz kolejny gościła chóry
z polskich parafii w Nowej Anglii. Koncert kolęd odbył się w ubiegła
niedzielę po południ. W czasie występu mogliśmy podziwiać wiele
utworów kolędowych i świątecznych w wykonaniu wielogłosowym,
a capella i z akompaniamentem muzycznym. Wystrój naszej świątyni
stwarza doskonałe tło do treści kolęd i wspaniale podkreśla atmosferę
jaką one stwarzają. Ci, którzy zdecydowali się na przybycie
i wsłuchanie się w koncert mogli poczuć po raz kolejny ducha Bożego
Narodzenia i przeżyć radość niezwykłego czasu świąt. Kolędy bowiem
są unikalnymi utworami ze względu za swoje pochodzenie. Były
tworzone przez wielkich poetów, muzyków jak również przez
zwykłych ludzi. Wszystkie jednak mają niezwykła właściwość:
potrafią przyciągać uwagę i dotykać bezpośrednio serca.
Po koncercie wszyscy uczestnicy spotkali się w PAV na
świątecznym poczęstunku przygotowanym przez naszych chórzystów.
Wyrażając wdzięczność wszystkim tym, którzy pracowali przy
zorganizowaniu spotkania, szczególnie pragniemy podziękować pani
Marcie Pająk, która podjęła się skoordynowania działań całej grupy
i poświęciła mnóstwo czasu i sił dla godnego przyjęcia naszych gości.
JASEŁKA
W ubiegła niedzielę mogliśmy uczestniczyć we wspaniałym
wydarzeniu w wykonaniu dzieci i nauczycieli Polskiej Szkoły
Sobotniej. Zaprezentowane Jasełka pokazały jak wiele dobra w rozwój
duchowy i kulturalny w życie naszych dzieci wnoszą zajęcia w każda
sobotę. Dziękujemy wszystkim parafianom, którzy uhonorowali
małych aktorów i z podziwem uczestniczyli w przedstawieniu.
Dziękujemy również za hojne ofiary dla wsparcia działania Sobotniej
Szkoły. Zebraliśmy ponad $300. To wspaniała pomoc, która
z pewnością usprawni i wspomoże funkcjonowanie szkoły.
NOWENNA DO ŚW. JÓZEFA
W całym katolickim świecie nabożeństwo do św. Józefa jest bardzo
popularne w kościołach, zakonach jak również w zaciszu prywatnych
domów. Skoro nasza szkoła i parafia są poddane Jego opiece, również
i my mamy możliwość poszukiwania Jego pomocy w naszym życiu
duchowym.
W środę 21 stycznia o godz. 19:00 zapraszamy naszych lektorów
do procesji z figura św. Józefa. Zachęcamy również do przedstawiania
swoich próśb i zapisywanie ich na specjalnych karteczkach dostępnych
z kaplicy Matki Bożej.

Początek roku to czas na odnowę prenumeraty naszego czasopisma

Tydzień migracji - Dziękujemy wszystkim uczniom, rodzicom
i nauczycielom, którzy wzięli udział w zeszłotygodniowej Mszy św.
Z okazji obchodów Migration Week. Do naszej szkoły obecnie
uczęszcza 24 uczniów pochodzących z różnych krajów i kultur, które
wnoszą do naszej społeczności różnorodność wartości i talentów.
Tydzień Szkół Katolickich – rozpoczyna się w niedzielę 25 stycznia
Mszą św. o godz. 9:30 pod przewodnictwem ks. prałata James’a
Moroney. Tydzień sSzkół Katolickich to bardzo dobra okazja dla
rodziców do odwiedzenia szkół katolickich w Webster i do zapoznania
się z ich możliwościami edukacyjnymi, a także rozważenia możliwości
zapewnienia swojemu dziecku edukacji chrześcijańskiej. W Szkole
św. Józefa troszczymy się nie tylko o to, aby wraz z wiedzą uczniowie
otrzymali niezbędne informacje na temat naszej Wiary, ale przede
wszystkim, aby poprzez formację nawiązali osobistą i głęboka relację
z Bogiem.
Po Mszy św. zapraszamy na krótki poczęstunek oraz na Open House
w godzinach od 11:30 do 13:00.
Pasta supper – w ramach obchodów Tygodnia Szkół Katolickich

Fundacja Jana Pawła II zaprasza na zabawę taneczną w sobotę,
