Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This weekend we again celebrate
Seminary Sunday in all the parishes
throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. In fact, we celebrate the lives
of the many priests who serve you
so faithfully each day and those who
are preparing to serve you with that
same charity in the future. The love
of a priest for his people makes present Christ's love for His Church.
The seminary is the place where the vocation to the priesthood is nourished and grown. Pope Benedict XVI, in a message to seminarians at World Youth Day in 2005, captures the
essence of what we celebrate this Seminary Sunday:
"Dear friends, this is the mystery of God's call, the mystery of
vocation. It is part of the life of every Christian, but it is particularly evident in those whom Christ asks to leave everything in
order to follow him more closely. The seminarian experiences
the beauty of that cali in a moment of grace which could be
defined as 'falling in love.' His soul is filled with amazement,
which makes him ask in prayer: 'Lord, why me?' But love
knows no 'why'; it is a free gift to which one responds with the
gift of self. "
"The seminary years are a time of journeying, of exploration,
but above all of discovering Christ. It is only when a young man
has had a personal experience of Christ that he can truly understand the Lord's will and consequently his own vocation.
The better you know Jesus the more his mystery attracts you.
The more you discover him, the more you are moved to seek
him. This is a movement of the spirit which lasts throughout
life, and which makes the seminary a time of immense promise,
a true ‘springtime. ‘"
As our seminarians spend years in formation and discernment, I thank you for your financial contributions which provide
them with the environment to "prepare well" to serve God's
faithful for years to come. I ask you to pray for them and for
those whom God is now calling to the ordained priesthood from
among our families and friends.
Finally, I pray that God will continue to bestow on you and
your families His choicest blessings for your generosity to the
seminarians. You are in my prayers, and I ask you to remember
me and our Archdiocese in your prayers each day. Thank you.

Today’s Gospel tells us that it is never too late
to get involved in the work of the Church. God
has a special need for each one of us in His
vineyard. The world teaches us to be selfish and greedy, like
the workers who grumbled about their wages. Yet, God continually requests that we offer our special gifts to build up His kingdom. Come, There is Work to Be Done is God’s personal invitation to each one of us. How will you respond?

Currently there are 130 students in our parish school. We
would welcome more new students in every grade —
Kindergarten through 8th Grade! Last year several students
successfully transferred to our school in the middle of the school
year. If you are aware of students for whom this may be a possibility, please direct them to our school.
Our students are presently raising funds to support our school
by selling WORLD’S FINEST CHOCOLATES. If you would like
to help the children by purchasing some delicious candy, please
call the school principal, Mr. Theis at (708) 656-5010 Ext. 56.
Watch for news also about our colossal Christmas raffle that is
in the planning stage.
Catechetical Sunday is
celebrated this weekend.
The theme for this year is
THE WORD OF GOD IN THE LIFE AND MISSION OF THE
CHURCH. Our catechists are: Mrs. Irene Saldana, Mrs. Gina
Somoza, Mrs. Virginia Hernandez, Mrs. Raquel Batrez, Miss
Marissa Martinez, Miss Karen Arriaga, Mrs. My Rodriguez, Mrs.
Myrta Garcia, Miss Christina Zaragoza, Mrs. Rosa Flores and
Miss Mary Warchol. Helpers are: Mrs. Sophie Schultz, Mrs. Ceil
Kandl, Miss Elizabeth Ruiz, Miss Jessica Hernandez, and Eric
Batrez. We thank our catechists and helpers for accepting the
responsibility to share their faith and bring the Word of God to
the children and young people of our parish. May God bless
them as they proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The next Religious Education class date is October 4, 2008
from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. All students must be registered by
this date.
SPRED CATECHISTS NEEDED
St. Mary of Czestochowa SPRED is in need of “HelperCatechists.” Dealing with an adult on a one-on one-basis gives
the student security and acceptance that he/she lacks in a societal setting. The person shares his/her personal life with the
helper. They work on activities together’ they share feelings and
thoughts with one another in the celebration room.
If you would like to volunteer your services as a helpercatechist, please call the rectory office and leave your name and
phone number. Your help would be much appreciated.
Hand Carved Olive Wood Gifts from the Holy Land
On the weekend of September 27th and 28th we will again
welcome Issam Qumsiyeth from the “Star of Bethlehem Group”
who comes to us from the Holy Land. Nowadays there are more
than 600 Christian families living in the Bethlehem that are completely dependent on carving olive wood figurines for their living.
“Star of Bethlehem” is approved and endorsed by His Eminence Cardinal Francis George, and the Archdiocese of Jerusalem.
Please take a look a these beautiful articles. They will be on
display after all Masses on September 27th and 28th in the entrance of the church.

20:1-16
“You have made them equal to
us. “ (Matthew 20:12_
Did you every think that the landowner in this parable could have
averted a lot of problems by simply
paying the workers he hired first
before he paid the latecomers? But
Jesus crafted his parable this way
so that the first laborers saw how much the others were paid.
What was the crux of their grumbling? That the ones who
worked less were paid the same as they were!
Surely that’s not the most tactful strategy he could have employed! But this only goes to show us that human logic and divine logic are not always on the same wavelength. By telling the
parable as he did, Jesus gave us insight into the logic of divine
mercy: Salvation is a free gift, not something we can earn by
human effort. Our God, the great equalizer, calls each of us his
children. We are all put on the same footing, all in need of his
mercy. All dependent on his grace.
How do you find yourself reacting to someone you see as a
Johnny-come-lately when you’ve been working so hard for the
church for years? What about that jobless tattooed teenager
down the street or the militant non-believer at your workplace?
Do you see that in God’s eyes, they are equal to you? Each of
us is his child, each is created in his image, and each is invited
into his kingdom. Only he knows at what hour we will enter.
The mercy of God is a great leveler. But while it tears down
our pride, it builds us up as well, If we can see ourselves as
equally forgiven, loved, and called, perhaps we can make the
effort to change our point of view when we look at others. We’ll
be a lot less apt to judge them when we understand what God
has done for us. In his generosity, he has given us not just what
is “fair” but what is merciful—entrance into eternal life!
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
Understood simply, Eucharistic adoration is adoring
or honoring the Eucharistic presence of Christ. In a
deeper sense, it involves the contemplation of the
Mystery of Christ truly present before us.
I t has been the consistent belief of the Catholic
Church from the very beginning that the bread and
wine consecrated at Mass truly become the Body and
Blood of Christ, and that, this Eucharistic presence of
Christ which begins at the moment of consecration endures as long as the
Eucharistic species subsist.
Every Wednesday, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in our church after
the 8AM Mass. Can you spare some to spend with Jesus?
CAN YOU HELP?? Lectors and commentators are needed for the
English Masses celebrated in our church: 5PM on Saturdays, 7:30AM,
and 9AM on Sundays. We know that there are many capable persons
sitting in the pews that could help with this task of reading the WORD
OF GOD at the Masses. Please call the rectory office, or e-mail the
bulletin editor if you would like to be a lector or commentator. A training session can be set up at a time that would be convenient for you

XXV Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
En aquel tiempo, dijo Jesús a sus discípulos esta parábola: El
Reino de los Cielos se parece a un propietario que al amanecer
salió a contratar jornaleros para su viña. Después de ajustarse
con ellos en un denario por jornada, los mandó a la viña. Salió
otra vez a media mañana, vio a otros que estaban en la plaza sin
trabajo, y les dijo: "Id también vosotros a mi viña, y os pagaré lo
debido." Ellos fueron. Salió de nuevo hacia mediodía y a media
tarde e hizo lo mismo. Salió al caer la tarde y encontró a otros,
parados, y les dijo: "¿Cómo es que estáis aquí el día entero sin
trabajar?" Le respondieron: "Nadie nos ha contratado." Él les dijo:
"Id también vosotros a mi viña." Cuando oscureció, el dueño de la
viña dijo al capataz: "Llama a los jornaleros y págales el jornal,
empezando por los últimos y acabando por los primeros." Vinieron los del atardecer y recibieron un denario cada uno. Cuando
llegaron los primeros, pensaban que recibirían más, pero ellos
también recibieron un denario cada uno. Entonces se pusieron a
protestar contra el amo: "Estos últimos han trabajado sólo una
hora, y los has tratado igual que a nosotros, que hemos aguantado el peso del día y el bochorno." Él replicó a uno de ellos:
"Amigo, no te hago ninguna injusticia. ¿No nos ajustamos en un
denario? Toma lo tuyo y vete. Quiero darle a este último igual
que a ti. ¿Es que no tengo libertad para hacer lo que quiera en
mis asuntos? ¿O vas a tener tú envidia porque yo soy bueno?"
Así, los últimos serán los primeros y los primeros los últimos.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo:
Esta semana, en todas las parroquias que hay a lo largo y ancho de la
Arquidiócesis de Chicago, celebramos de nueva cuenta el Domingo de
Seminario. De hecho, celebramos las vidas de muchos sacerdotes quienes
día a día le sirven a usted de manera fiel así como las de aquellos que se
están preparando para en un futuro, servirlo con la misma caridad. El amor
que expresa un sacerdote por su pueblo hace que el amor de Cristo por Su
Iglesia se haga presente.
El seminario es el lugar donde la vocación al sacerdocio se nutre y crece.
El Papa Benedicto XVI, en un mensaje dado a los seminaristas durante la
Jornada Mundial de la Juventud 2005, captura la esencia de lo que celebramos este Domingo de Seminario: “Queridos amigo, este es el misterio de la
llamada de la vocación; misterio que afecta a la vida de todo cristiano, pero
que se manifiesta con mayor relieve en los que Cristo invita a dejarlo todo
para seguirlo más de cerca. El seminarista vive la belleza de la llamada en
El momento que podríamos definir de "enamoramiento". Su corazón, henchido de asombro, le hace decir en la oración: “Señor, ¿por qué precisamente a mí?” Pero el amor no tiene un “porqué”, es un don gratuito al que
se responde con la entrega de sí mismo.
“El seminario es un tiempo de camino, de búsqueda, pero sobre todo de
descubrimiento de Cristo. En efecto, sólo si hace una experiencia personal
de Cristo, el joven puede comprender en verdad su voluntad y por lo tanto
su vocación. Cuanto más conoces a Jesús, más te atrae su misterio; Canto
más lo encuentras, más fuerte es el deseo de buscarlo. Es un movimiento
del espíritu que dura toda la vida, y que en el seminario pasa, como una
estación llena de promesas, su "primavera"".
Nuestros seminaristas pasan años en formación y discernimiento; les agradezco sus contribuciones financieras que permiten proporcionarles al ambiente para "prepararse bien" para servir a los fieles de Dios en los años
por venir. Les pido orar por ellos y por aquellos miembros de su familia y
amigos a quienes Dios está llamando al sacerdocio ordenado.
Finalmente, oro por que Dios continúe otorgándoles a ustedes y a sus
familias sus más finas bendiciones por su generosidad con los seminaristas. Ustedes se encuentran siempre en mis plegarias; les pido recordarme
a mi y a la arquidiócesis en sus oraciones diarias. Gracias.

Coro de niños – 2º aniversario
El coro de niños “voces del Alma” esta celebrando su segundo
aniversario en el ministerio de música de nuestra parroquia, cantando en la misa de cinco de la tarde los domingos.
¿Por qué el nombre “Voces del Alma”? Porque a Dios hay que
cantarle y alabarle desde el alma. Salmo 146 ¡Alaba alma mía al
Señor! Alabaré al Señor mientras viva, cantaré para mi Dios mientras exista.
Hace dos años el coro inicio con el deseo de cuatro niñas de cantarle a Dios (Leslie, Stephanie, Elena y Lisbeth); con la ayuda de
Dios y el apoyo de sus padres el coro ha ido creciendo espiritualmente y en número de integrantes. Los viernes nos reunimos para
orar, aprender de Jesús nuestro Señor y ensayar los cantos para la
misa. A lo largo de estos dos años hemos sido invitados a otras
comunidades para cantar y alabar al Señor, en misas, procesiones,
rosarios, círculos de oración, conciertos y festivales representando
a nuestra parroquia Santa María de Czestochowa, porque como
servidores de Dios debemos estar atentos al llamado del Señor
para ir donde El nos necesite y no limitarnos solo a la misa del
domingo.
Actualmente el coro lo integran 25 niños de las edades de 7 a 12
años y tres adultos que nos apoyan en la coordinación.
Le damos gracias a Dios porque nos ama y nos permite ejercer
nuestro ministerio con fe, dedicación, respeto, amor y entrega.

tema en este año es “LA PALABRA DE DIOS EN LA VIDA Y LA

Królestwo niebieskie podobne jest do gospodarza, który wyszedł wczesnym rankiem, aby nająć robotników do swej winnicy. Umówił się z robotnikami o denara za dzień i posłał ich do winnicy. Gdy wyszedł około
godziny trzeciej, zobaczył innych, stojących na rynku bezczynnie, i rzekł
do nich: Idźcie i wy do mojej winnicy, a co będzie słuszne, dam wam.
Oni poszli. Wyszedłszy ponownie około godziny szóstej i dziewiątej, tak
samo uczynił. Gdy wyszedł około godziny jedenastej, spotkał innych
stojących i zapytał ich: Czemu tu stoicie cały dzień bezczynnie? Odpowiedzieli mu: Bo nas nikt nie najął. Rzekł im: Idźcie i wy do winnicy! A
gdy nadszedł wieczór, rzekł właściciel winnicy do swego rządcy: Zwołaj
robotników i wypłać im należność, począwszy od ostatnich aż do pierwszych! Przyszli najęci około jedenastej godziny i otrzymali po denarze.
Gdy więc przyszli pierwsi, myśleli, że więcej dostaną; lecz i oni otrzymali
po denarze. Wziąwszy go, szemrali przeciw gospodarzowi, mówiąc: Ci
ostatni jedną godzinę pracowali, a zrównałeś ich z nami, którzyśmy znosili ciężar dnia i spiekoty. Na to odrzekł jednemu z nich: Przyjacielu, nie
czynię ci krzywdy; czy nie o denara umówiłeś się ze mną? Weź, co twoje
i odejdź! Chcę też i temu ostatniemu dać tak samo jak tobie. Czy mi nie

jestem dobry? Tak ostatni będą pierwszymi, a pierwsi ostatnimi.

27 września Święty Wincenty a Paulo, prezbiter
Św. Wincenty urodził się w Pouy (obecnie St-Vincent-de-Paul) 24
kwietnia 1581 r. jako trzecie z sześciorga dzieci, w biednej, wiejskiej
rodzinie. Studia w Tuluzie Wincenty zwieńczył bakalaureatem w
04 r. Później pogłębił swoje studia jeszcze na uniwersytecie w Rzymie i w Paryżu, zdobywając licencjat z prawa kanonicznego (1623).
Papież Paweł V wysłał Wincentego do Francji w nieznanej bliżej misji
na dwór Henryka IV. Pozyskał sobie zaufanie królowej, Katarzyny de
Medicis, która obrała go sobie za kapelana, mianowała go swoim
jałmużnikiem i powierzyła mu opiekę nad Szpitalem Miłosierdzia.
Prawdopodobnie duże znaczenie dla życia Wincentego miało zdarzenie, jakie miało miejsce 25 stycznia 1617 r. w Folleville. Wincenty
głosił wówczas rekolekcje. Wezwano go do chorego, cieszącego się
opinią porządnego i szanowanego człowieka. Na łożu śmierci wyznał
mu on, że jego życie całkowicie rozminęło się z prawdą, że ciągle
udawał kogoś innego niż był w rzeczywistości. Dla Wincentego był to
wstrząs. Zrozumiał, że Bóg pozwala się dotknąć w ubogich, w nich
potwierdza swoją obecność. Odtąd Wincenty zaczął gorliwie służyć
ubogim i pokrzywdzonym. Złożył Bogu ślub poświęcenia się ubogim.
Zgromadził wokół siebie kilku kapłanów, którzy w sposób bardzo
prosty i dostępny głosili ubogim Słowo Boże. W ten sposób w 1625 r.
powstało Zgromadzenie Księży Misjonarzy - lazarystów. Wincenty
założył również stowarzyszenie Pań Miłosierdzia, które w sposób
systematyczny i instytucjonalny zajęły się biednymi, porzuconymi
dziećmi, żebrakami, kalekami. Spotkanie ze św. Ludwiką zaowocowało powstaniem Zgromadzenia Sióstr Miłosierdzia (1633 r.), zwanych szarytkami (od franc. charite - miłosierdzie). Wincenty zmarł w
1660 r. w wieku 79 lat. W roku 1729 papież Benedykt XIII wyniósł
Wincentego do chwały błogosławionych, a papież Klemens XII do
chwały świętych w roku 1737. W 1885 r. Leon XIII uznał go za patrona wszystkich dzieł miłosierdzia w Kościele. Jest także patronem
zgromadzenia lazarystów, szarytek, kleru, organizacji charytatywnych, podrzutków, szpitali i więźniów. W ikonografii św. Wincenty a
Paulo przedstawiany jest w długiej szacie zakonnej i szerokim płaszczu. Jego atrybutami są: anioł, dziecko w ramionach, dziecko u stóp,
krucyfiks.

W ten weekend, jak co roku, we
wszystkich parafiach Archidiecezji
Chicagowskiej obchodzimy Niedzielę
Seminaryjną. Oddajemy dzisiaj szacunek wielu księżom – zarówno tym,
którzy służą Wam wiernie każdego
dnia, jak i tym, którzy dopiero przygotowują się, aby w przyszłości służyć
Wam z takim samym oddaniem i miłością. Miłość kapłana do jego ludu uobecnia Chrystusową miłość do Jego
Kościoła.
Seminarium duchowne jest miejscem, gdzie powołanie do
stanu kapłańskiego jest pielęgnowane i umacniane. W
orędziu skierowanym do seminarzystów podczas Światowego Dnia Młodzieży 2005, papież Benedykt XVI tak
ujął istotę tego, co będziemy obchodzić podczas tej Niedzieli Seminaryjnej: „Drodzy przyjaciele, oto tajemnica
wezwania, powołania; tajemnica, dotykająca życia każdego chrześcijanina, która jednak wyraźniej objawia się w
tych, których Chrystus zaprasza do pozostawienia wszystkiego, aby iść tuż za Nim. Seminarzysta przeżywa piękno
powołania w chwili, którą moglibyśmy nazwać
"zakochaniem". Jego duszę przepełnia zdumienie, które
każe mu powiedzieć w modlitwie: Panie, dlaczego właśnie ja? Miłość jednak nie zna pytania "dlaczego", jest
bowiem bezinteresownym darem, na który trzeba odpowiedzieć darem z samego siebie „Seminarium to czas
marszu, poszukiwania, ale przede wszystkim odkrycia
Chrystusa. Albowiem tylko na tyle, na ile doświadczy
osobistego przeżycia Chrystusa, młody człowiek może
pojąć w prawdzie Jego wolę, a więc także swoje powołanie. Im lepiej znasz Jezusa, tym bardziej pociąga cię Jego
tajemnica; im częściej Go spotykasz, tym bardziej chcesz
Go szukać. Jest to ruch ducha, trwający całe życie, który
w seminarium przebiega jako czas pełen obietnic, jako
jego "wiosna".
Właściwa formacja i rozeznanie trwa lata; dziękuję za
waszą pomoc finansową, dzięki której nasi seminarzyści
mają stworzone odpowiednie warunki, aby dobrze przygotować się do niesienia wiernym posługi duszpasterskiej
w przyszłości. Proszę was także o modlitwy za nich oraz
za tych, których Bóg powołuje teraz do kapłaństwa spośród członków waszych rodzin i przyjaciół.
Kończąc, modlę się o to, by Bóg nadal wynagradzał was i
wasze rodziny najobfitszymi łaskami za waszą szczodrość
wobec seminarzystów. Jesteście obecni w moich modlitwach i proszę, abyście i Wy pamiętali w Waszych codziennych modlitwach o mnie i całej naszej Archidiecezji. Bóg zapłać!
