Our current economic situation is evidence of what happens
when people think they can have everything they want. Jesus
calls us to set our own personal “wants” aside so that we have

FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF CHRIST
The great fifty-day celebration of
Easter has concluded, as have the feasts
honoring the Holy Trinity and the Body
and Blood of Christ. Last week we began a long stretch of Ordinary Time
that will bring us to late November.
Saint Paul tells us today that those who are baptized “have
clothed yourselves with Christ” (Galatians 3:27). This scripture
is echoed in the Church’s baptism ritual when we sing, “You
have put on Christ, in him you have been baptized.” This message is inspiring and sobering at the same time, for in today’s
Gospel, we get to the heart of what it means to be clothed in
Christ. The Lord tells us, “If anyone wishes to come after me,
he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow
me” (Luke 9:23). For the next twenty-two weeks we are called
to take up the cross and, with Saint Luke as our guide, follow
in the footsteps of Christ.
This week’s second collection is for the Catholic
Communications Campaign.
The second collection next weekend is designated for Peter’s
Pence Collection (see enclosed letter from Bishop McManus).

Jubilee Year of Mercy
Today, as he often does, Luke portrays Jesus “praying in
solitude” (Luke 9:18). The Jubilee Year of Mercy invites us to
rediscover the value of silence as the prayerful setting in which
to reflect on the ways in which God’s mercy transforms our
lives, in order to make mercy the heart of our own lifestyle. But
in a line that sounds odd, Jesus “rebuked” his disciples “and
directed them not to tell anyone” (9:20–21) after they professed
their faith in Jesus as “the Christ of God” (9:20). Jesus challenges us also to profess our faith not by what we say, but by
what we do: take up our own cross daily (9:23) and “bear one
another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). Our gratitude for God’s
mercy toward us should make us instruments of God’s mercy
toward all. Then, as Zechariah prophesies in today’s first reading, the fountain of God’s mercy will open to purify the whole
world from the sin and selfishness that cause suffering and sorrow to so many.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
On Thursday, June 23 the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly will be held at our Basilica with Mass at 5:15pm
with Father Michael Lavallee as celebrant.
Dinner will follow at 6:00pm in the school conference room
and general meeting at 7:00pm. All brother Knights are invited
to this special evening.
SACRED HEART SOCIETY
Installation of Officers of the Sacred Heart Society will be
held on Sunday, June 26th at the 8:15am Mass. Members are
requested to meet at 8:00am to attend Mass followed by the
Annual Meeting in the school Conference Room. Refreshments
will be served.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY APPEAL
We appreciate the generosity of parishioners who answered
our call to support the diocesan Partners in Charity Appeal. To
date we have collected 75% of our goal and need $8071 to
reach our quota. There is still time for you to consider making
a contribution or fill out a pledge card (available in the pews)
to help thousands of needy people in Worcester County.
Pope Francis states, “In this Year of Mercy it is time to return
to the basics and to bear the weaknesses and struggles of our
brothers and sisters,” Let us all face this challenge.
SCHOOL NEWS
St. Joseph School students are officially on vacation.
Pre-K, Kindergarten and Eighth Grade graduations have been
held and children attended Liturgy on Fri., June 19th at 8:30am
in thanksgiving for a successful 2015-2016 academic year.
We wish all of our students a safe and happy summer vacation so that they all return eagerly for the fall term. God Bless
all our children!
DEVOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
We invite parishioners and friends to our weekly Votive
Mass and Novena to our Patron on Wednesday, June 22 at
7:00pm. This is a perfect opportunity to pray to St. Joseph requesting personal favors to help us live in harmony, peace and
joy. Members of the Holy Rosary Sodality will assist in carrying our Patron’s statue into the sanctuary.

the Our Lady of Czestochowa Chapel to be read during devotions. We appreciate your donations.
Icon of Divine Mercy - is available to be brought into your
home for veneration with family and friends. This Jubilee Year
allows us to reflect on God’s goodness and mercy extended to

1,050 YEARS OF CHRISTIANITY IN POLAND
The year 2016 is a momentous occasion in the history of Poland as 1,050 years ago, on April 14, 966, the Duke of Poland,
Mieszko I, accepted Christianity on behalf of the nation. The
seed of faith was planted and Poland has nurtured that seed for
1,050 years.
To celebrate this legacy of faith and liberty, the new Archdiocesan Shrine of St. John Paul II will be blessed and dedicated
in the Chapel of Our Lady of Orchard Lake, MI on Wed., June
22. The program includes: Musical Performance, Bi-Lingual
Mass - Most Rev. Thomas G. Wenski, Archbishop of Miami as
main celebrant followed by a Grand Banquet.
Throughout her history, Poland has nurtured that seed
strengthened by the prayers and sacrifices of millions of men
and women of faith, most notably in our own time by the life
and example of St. John Paul II and especially by the blood of
the many martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of Christ
and His Church. We are all proud of our heritage.

In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis calls us to be a
witness of charity to those suffering the effects of war and
violence, natural disasters and religious persecution throughout
the world. Your generosity, prayers and outreach on the
weekend of June 25th and 26th will help spread the message
of the love of Christ.

DWUNASTA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA

“Nie ma już Żyda ani poganina, nie ma już niewolnika ani człowieka
wolnego, nie ma już mężczyzny ani kobiety, wszyscy bowiem jesteście
kimś jednym w Chrystusie Jezusie.” (Gal 3, 28)
Pytając: „A wy za kogo Mnie
uważacie?”, Jezus nie oczekuje dziś od
nas formułek, ale refleksji, na ile
rzeczywiście On jest dla nas ważny.
Czy moja więź z Nim jest na tyle
mocna, że potrafię nad Nim zapłakać
jak nad własnym dzieckiem, zatęsknić za Nim całym sobą?
Czy ze względu na Niego potrafię pozbyć się uprzedzeń wobec
drugiego człowieka, wierząc, że wszyscy jesteśmy braćmi
i siostrami? Eucharystia, którą rozpoczynamy, daje nam
kolejną szansę przejścia od teorii do doświadczenia, do wiary,
do gotowości zaparcia się siebie.

JUBILEUSZOWY ROK MIŁOSIERDZIA
Dzisiaj Łukasz, jak to często robi, ukazuje Jezusa, który modli
się w samotności. Jubileuszowy Rok Miłosierdzia zaprasza nas do
odkrycia na nowo wartość modlitewnej ciszy, jako przygotowania
do refleksji na temat tego, jak Miłosierdzie Boże przemienia nasze
życie, aby uczynić je centrum naszego własnego życia. Dziwnie
jednak brzmi Jezus "karcący" swoich uczniów " i zabraniający
mówienia o Nim komukolwiek, po tym, jak wyznali wiarę
w Niego jako Boga. Jezus wzywa również nas do wyznawania
naszej wiary, ale nie przez to, co mówimy, tylko przez to,
co czynimy: podejmując własny krzyż i noszą nawzajem własne
brzemiona. Nasza wdzięczność za łaskę otrzymaną od Boga
powinna uczynić nas narzędziami Bożego miłosierdzia wobec
wszystkich. Wtedy, jak prorokuje Zachariasz w dzisiejszym
pierwszym czytaniu, źródło miłosierdzia Bożego otworzy się, aby
oczyścić cały świat z grzechu i egoizmu, które powodują cierpienia
i boleść tak wielu.
JUBILEUSZ KS. PRAŁATA
Dziekujemy serdecznie wszystkim, którzy wzięli udział
w uroczystości 50 - lecia kapłaństwa ks. Prałata Antoniego
Czarneckiego. W PACC sala była zapełniona po brzegi.
Po opłaceniu wszystkich kosztów pozostało $1500, które zostaną
przekazane na Fundusz Budowy Sali Gimnastycznej.

SACRED HEART SOCIETY
Instalacja nowego zarządu Sacret Heart Society odbędzie się
w niedzielę, 26 czerwca na Mszy św. o godz. 8:15. Wszyscy
członkowie Stowarzyszenia są proszeni o udział w Mszy św.
Po Mszy spotkanie w sali konferencyjnej w szkole.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Serdecznie dziękujemy parafianom za ich hojności,
w odpowiedzi na prośbę do złożenia ofiar na Partners in Charity.
Do tej pory zebraliśmy 75% oczekiwanej od nas kwoty. Brakuje
jeszcze $8071. Ciągle jeszcze istnieje możliwość, aby rozważyć

Papież Franciszek w Roku Miłosierdza przypomina nam, że jest
