JANUARY 2006 T RIUMPHS Monthly Valued Distributors, On behalf of AKUNA and myself, I would like to use this opportunity to wish you all a happy, healthy and successful New Year! I would also like to reflect upon the year 2005, during which many exciting highlights have taken place. We saw the opening of two new international offices: AKUNA Deutschland opened its doors in February and AKUNA Ukraine just this past November. We have witnessed the rise of many new Distributors and there are more AKUNA vehicles on the road in North America and across the globe than ever before. None of this would be possible without you, our partners and our friends. You are all an important part of the extended AKUNA family and together we are making a difference. Thank you for making 2005 an unforgettable year and may we share many more great and memorable moments in the years to come! Warmest wishes from our family to yours, Michael Forst AKUNA CEO NEWS! BONESET Common Names: Feverwort, Thoroughwort, Sweating plant, Indian sage, Agueweed Botanical Name: Eupatorium perfoliatum Parts used: Aerial parts Active Components: Quercetin, Kaempferol, Rutin, Eupatorin, Sesquiterpene, Volatile oil, Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids, Resin History: Native Americans used boneset as a treatment for a wide range of infectious and fever-related conditions because of its sweat-inducing properties. They introduced it to early colonists, who eventually adopted the use of the plant for conditions such as influenza, cholera, malaria, and typhoid. It was also used by the Native Americans to alleviate arthritis and treat colds, indi- gestion, constipation, and loss of appetite. Early herbalists believed that boneset was helpful in setting bones. That is how the plant is said to have gotten its English name. Looks like: Boneset is a member of the Sunflower Family (Asteracea). Its rough and hairy stem grows 2-5 feet in height; its leaves are rough and taper to a long point; and its flowers are white or rarely purple and bloom July through October. Where it’s grown: Boneset is very common in the eastern parts of North America and can be found growing along streams, swampy areas and in low meadows. Use: Boneset is an excellent remedy for colds and fever, especially for the flu. Studies suggest that it helps in effec tively treating minor viral and bacterial infections by stimulating white blood cells to destroy disease-causing microorganisms. Studies also suggest that it is mildly anti-inflammatory, which supports its traditional use of treating arthritis. In addition, there is some medical evidence that shows that Boneset also boosts the immune system. TRIUMPHS New NND and RND share their success story! How working together gets results! Janina Sergiel and Katrzyna Kepska had never met before. They were first introduced when Katarzyna began introducing Janina to Akuna’s Marketing Plan. Janina is in the second level of Katarzyna’s Organization and although she praises the product, when it comes to business, she needed help. That is how this true partnership began; and there is no doubt that working together has resulted in success for both of them. In November, Janina was promoted to Regional Network Director and Katarzyna is Akuna’s new National Network Director. When it comes to approaching people, both ladies share the same views: “You cannot be pushy because people have the right to make up their own minds. This work is not about going from door to door; it’s about educating people and building a relationship with them. This relationship must first and foremost be built on trust. You must be genuine and work together; and that, not competition, is the main secret to success!” Janina and Katarzyna both strongly believe in the effectiveness of the product and they consider this work as passing on “goodness to others”. After all, it’s completely natural and part of our human nature to want to share something we know can make a difference in other peoples’ lives. They believe that this product is so essential for today’s day and age, mainly due to the tremendous stresses and environmental factors, which humans have to endure on a daily basis. New NND Katarzyna Kepska with new RND Janina Sergiel For the time being, Janina is still working part-time but in the near future, her husband and herself plan on dedicating most of their time to Akuna; and then there will be no stopping her from following in Katarzyna’s footsteps. As for Katarzyna, she plans to continue working with Akuna full time and spreading the “goodness to others”. TRIUMPHS Once you start, you do not quit! Barbara Michalik is one of Akuna’s new Division Leaders. She began working with Akuna in March of 2004 and advanced to her new position in November. At the beginning she dedicated about seven hours per week to building her Akuna Organization but recently she has become much more active. She says that she really enjoys this kind of work, in which she has previous experience. A few years ago, for example, she was involved with another MLM company. But she says that her experience of working in a sales department is what taught her a lot. It is there that she acquired broad experience and gained the necessary skills, all of which are the keys to success. “Furthermore,” she says, “since using Alveo, my health condition has improved. I also find that I am now, more than ever before, in a good frame of mind.” Another key to success! Barbara has the complete support of her family: Her son Patryk and his girlfriend Ewelina are always encouraging her; but her best motivation comes from her husband, Maciej, who is “extremely engaged in this business” and who helps her immensely. His expertise, off course, is not surprising since Maciej is one of Akuna’s top Independent Distributors. (Maciej Michalik was promoted to National Network Director in September 2005). Barbara’s motto is: “Once you start, you do not quit! The most important thing is to make the decision to start.” Akuna to her represents: fulfillment, self-reliance and financial freedom. It’s a way of making some extra money on the side while taking care of your health. Barbara Michalik receives her DL certificate from Wesley Zoltowski TRIUMPHS Q & A with RND Michael Kalayev... Europe, I can see an even bigger opportunity for us, here in the US. How has your life changed since Akuna? After I began drinking Alveo consistently, I noticed that I had more energy and began to feel more alive. In the short period of only five months I became a Regional Network Director. That is a great success. I already have financial stability and my business is growing every day. New RND Michael Kalayev When did you start with Akuna? I joined Akuna on May 11th 2005, when my sponsor Liliya Hrebennikova introduced me to Alveo and Akuna’s Marketing Plan. Having worked in the Natural Health Food Industry, I found Alveo a very unique product and the Marketing Plan seemed to have great potential. Have you ever done anything similar? If yes, how is Akuna different? I have been in multi-level-marketing for over nine years. That taught me how to communicate with other people. Looking at the success AKUNA has had in What do you find is the best part about Akuna and your Akuna business? The best part about my Akuna business is that my people can make money right away; in the first month they start. What does your family think about your Akuna business? My family is totally supportive of me, and they are part of my organization. They consistently drink Alveo and promote the product and the business. What are your goals when it comes to Akuna and your Akuna business? My goal is to build my organization to be big and strong. I work with people that speak English, Russian, Lithuanian, Spanish and other languages. I believe that this will help me expand my business throughout the United States and eventually internationally as well. What would your advice be for someone that is just starting off in this business? My advice for the beginners would be simple: every person should know what they want to achieve. They have to have a goal and a particular time frame. In order to help my new partners, I have to know what they want to gain and how soon. They must reach this goal step by step but work on it consistently for at least a few hours every day. If they are patient, they will soon see the results. Additional Comments: I would like to thank all of those within my entire organization for their hard work and sincere dedication in building our team (organization) in USA and Europe. Also I would like to thank all of my up lines, especially Frank Brazda and Agnes Wojewoda for their coaching and their support. I wish all distributors much success and health.
