BASIC PHRASAL VERBS <part ONE>
PODSTAWOWE CZASOWNIKI ZŁOŻONE <część PIERWSZA>
break down – zepsuć się (o samochodzie, telewizorze itp.)
come round – wpaść, odwiedzić
drop in (on sb) – wpaść z wizytą (do kogoś)
eat out – jeść poza domem („na mieście”)
get off – wysiadać (z autobusu itp.) [ant. get on]
get on – wsiadać (do autobusu itp.) [ant. get off]
get up – wstawać (z łóżka)
give up – zrezygnować z, porzucić [ant. take up]
look after – opiekować się
look for – szukać (czegoś/ kogoś)
look out – uważać Æ Look out! – Uważaj!
make out – zorientować się w, zrozumieć
pick up – odebrać (kogoś z lotniska itp.)
put off – odłożyć, przełożyć (coś na późniejszy termin)
put on – założyć (ubranie) [ant. take off]
put out – zgasić (pożar, papierosa itp.)
sit down – usiąść [ant. stand up]
slow down – zwolnić (zmniejszyć prędkość) [ant. speed up]
stand up – wstać, stanąć [ant. sit down]
take off – zdjąć (ubranie) [ant. put on]
take up – zająć się, podjąć się [ant. give up]
try on – przymierzyć (ubranie)
turn off – (1)wyłączyć, zgasić (telewizor, samochód itp.); (2)zakręcić (kurek, kran) [ant. turn on]
turn on – (1)włączyć, uruchomić (telewizor, samochód itp.); (2)odkręcić (kurek) [ant. turn off]
turn down – (1)ściszyć (muzykę, radio itp.); (2)odmówić, odrzucić (zaproszenie itp.)
turn up – (1)podgłośnić; (2)pojawić się
wake up – obudzić się
write down/ take down - zapisać
