„Annual Business in Małopolska Meeting” part of the Single Market
This year’s „Annual Business in Małopolska Meeting” part of the Single Market
Forum
23.08.2011
On 3 October 2011, the 3rd Annual Business in Małopolska Meeting will take place in the
Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Kraków. This year’s conference will be an accompanying
event to the Single Market Forum, taking place at the same time in Kraków, which will
significantly boost the event’s profile and prestige.
The idea of including the ABMM in the program of the Single Market Forum came about
during a session of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Commission held this May,
at the headquarters of the Kraków Technological Park.
The organizers of the ABMM, held this year under the slogan "Modern regions – modern Europe", will be the partners of the
Business in Małopolska project, i.e. the Małopolska Regional Development Agency, Małopolska Province and the Kraków
Technological Park.
Business in Małopolska is not just a centre for investor service and economic promotion. It is also a way of creating space for
conversations on important matters related to the entirety of the economy. The Centre – a specialized investor service office – was
created firstly in order to assist foreign firms wanting to invest in Małopolska, and secondly to support local small and medium
enterprises and their export potential.
CeBiM is currently undertaking 4 projects. To date a total of 6.5 mln PLN has been received for all previous initiatives. The
Centre has served nearly 200 international investors, and at trade shows and conferences in Mumbai, Chicago, New York,
Florida, Shanghai, Hannover and Edinburgh has presented Małopolska’s offer to nearly 40,000 people. Over 300 individual
exporters have received assistance in finding a market for their goods.
CeBiM Małopolska holds 2nd place in the FDI Magazine (Financial Times) ranking for the category of best strategy for
promoting Direct Foreign Investment, 2nd place in the Top 5 Eastern Regions FDI Strategy ranking, 7th place in the ranking
of the best regions in Eastern Europe, and in 2010 Małopolska was near the top of the list of most attractive regions in Poland for
investment according to the IBnGR 2010 ranking. Kraków, the capital of Małopolska, took 1st place in the ranking of Top 10
Emerging Outsourcing Cities in the category of "emerging locations", making the city 11th in the Top 100!!!
This year’s conference promises to be even more exciting than usual. An excellent collection of guests and participants will
guarantee discussions at the highest level, and the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre will serve as an appropriately elegant venue for
meetings and artistic events.
The Annual Business in Małopolska Meeting has been held annually since 2009. It is an opportunity to meet with investors and
representatives of enterprises in order to discuss experiences, problems and future challenges. Past ABMM guests have included
the Nobel Prize winner in Economics, prof. Edward C. Prescott, representatives of foreign companies operating in Małopolska,
regional authorities and representatives of domestic media.
