scheduled at least six months in advance by interview with a
parish priest. Pre-Cana conferences are required.

After the 8:30 am Mass on First Friday of the Month.
Please call the Rectory to arrange for the Sacrament of the
Sick and Communion to be brought to the sick at home.

THE TRINITY IS LOVE
Theologians throughout the
Christian centuries have spilled
much ink (and, on occasion,
some blood) in describing and
defining the mystery of the
Holy Trinity. One of the
earliest, most poetic, and beautiful
descriptions comes from St. Augustine in
De Trinitas, wherein he describes the
Trinity as One (the Father) who loves, One
(the Son) who is loved, and One (the Spirit)
who is love. And these three Ones are also
one Three. It might be wisest for us to leave
the technical wranglings to the academic
theologians, and focus on the fact that the
three Persons of the Trinity are indeed
persons; they are best known and
understood in their love for each other and
for us. We are made in the image of those
loving persons, and our best relationships
are lived out in the context of love. Truly
loving relationships are inexhaustible
mysteries to be lived in joy. If this is true of
our human relationships, how much more
so is it true of our relationship with the
Trinity. And how much more does it call
upon us to be joyful, loving witnesses of the
holy mystery of the One‑in‑Three. This is
the mystery to which we were called when
we were chosen to be God’s own, baptized
with water in the name of the Holy Trinity.

TROJCY
Wspolnota z Bogiem.
SWIETEJ
Niepojęta dla ludzkiego rozumu prawda, że
Bóg objawił się w Trzech Osobach, stanowi
centralną tajemnicę naszej wiary. Jest
związana z przyjęciem chrztu św., który został
nam udzielony „w imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha
Świętego”. Ojciec Przedwieczny posyła swego
Syna Jednorodzonego na świat, aby dał
ludziom zbawienie, a Duch Święty ma obudzić
w sercach wiarę, dzięki której otwierają się z
zaufaniem przed Bogiem, by przyjąć dar życia
wiecznego. Koniecznym warunkiem wspólnoty
z Bogiem jest zatem wiara, bez której „nie
można podobać się Bogu”. A „kto nie uwierzył,
już został potępiony”. Potępienie stanowi
zatem wybór kierunku przeciw Bogu, a
zbawienie jest wejściem na drogę ku Niemu.
Człowiek, póki żyje, może ten kierunek
zmieniać, może w wolności decydować o sobie
i swoim losie. Pójście drogą Bożą zakłada
budowanie wspólnoty z Bogiem, a koniecznym
warunkiem jest tu posłuszeństwo woli Bożej,
objawionej przez Chrystusa w czasie Jego
ziemskiej misji. Znane jest porównanie Trójcy
do trzech świec, których płomienie łączą się,
stanowiąc jeden płomień. Porównywano także
Trójcę do koniczyny, która choć posiada trzy
liście, jest przecież jedna. Z kolei A. Pronzato
zauważa,
iż
człowiek
żyje
na
trzech
płaszczyznach:
pionowej,
poziomej
i
wewnętrznej. Stąd również Boga postrzega
wielowymiarowo: jest dla niego Ojcem
miłosiernym, szanującym wolność swoich
dzieci; jest także bratem w osobie Jezusa
Chrystusa; mieszka również w naszym
wnętrzu jako Duch. W jaki sposób możemy
zbliżyć się do prawdy o Bogu Trójjedynej
miłości? Jest On obecny wszędzie tam, gdzie
człowiek Go zaprosi, gdzie pozwoli Mu wejść.
Niech modlitwa, którą św. Augustyn zakończył
dzieło „De Trinitate” [„O Trójcy”], stanie się
również drogowskazem dla nas: Skoro
przyjdziemy do Ciebie, ustanie ta wielość
słów, które wypowiadamy nie dosięgając
Ciebie, Ty jeden będziesz wszystko we
wszystkim i bez końca będziemy wypowiadali
jedno, chwaląc Cię w jedności i w Tobie
