July 10-18, 2010 ul. Nowy Świat 63 Warsaw Pride House is comprised of over 40 events – shows, film screenings, club parties, discussion groups, debates and several other types of happenings. Pride House was organized especially for those visiting Warsaw during EuroPride 2010. Events will take place at the very center of the capital city, on the intersection of Nowy Świat and Świętokrzyska at the Nowy Wspaniały Świat Cultural Center – and will be open every day from Saturday, July 10 to Sunday, July 18. We cordially invite you to the grand opening on Saturday (July 10) at 18.00. For nine days the Nowy Wspanialy Świat Cultural Center will be transformed into the nexus of events surrounding the European Equality Day. After the celebratory opening, we invite you to the photo exhibit, ‘Lesbians and much more’ by Hanna Jarząbek, as well as to the film screenings of ‘Tolerance’ and ‘Jesus Almost King’. The evening will conclude with a one-of-a-kind performance by Sławomir Belina and a club party. Throughout the week at Pride House visitors will have the chance to take part in Latin American dance lessons, drag king workshops, meet activists, engage in discussions about civil unions, join others in playing a specially-organized urban game, or take a guided stroll around HomoWarsaw. European politicians will also be visiting Pride House, among them Swedish Ombudsperson for Equality, Katri Linna, to talk with Polish politicians about whether and when gays and lesbians in Poland will be able to enjoy the benefits of equal rights. The remaining debate topics will be as diverse as we ourselves are – we will discuss the situation of trans individuals, the invisibility of lesbians, education about homosexuality, Jewish culture, as well as the situation of gays and lesbians on the east of Poland. There will be something for everyone! We encourage you to take advantage of the Information Point, at which there will be materials available about all the events occurring during EuroPride 2010.
