The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul; the decree
of the Lord is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple.
PROCLAIM THE WONDER OF GOD
The gift of the Spirit is given freely, not according to human expectations, but according
to the generosity of God. Joshua wants Moses
to stop Eldad and Medad from prophesying in
the camp, when they were not with the others as the spirit was
bestowed on them. Moses, so close to God’s mind in the matter, wishes everyone could possess the spirit of God and proclaim it to the nations.
Psalm 19 celebrates the perfection of God’s law, and how it
brings joy and delight. It is better than the finest gold or the
sweetest honey. Moreover, God gives the wisdom of the
prophets to everyone, especially the simple and lowly ones,
even to children. It is the “little ones” who proclaim the wonder of God to all.
The second collection this weekend is for the Fall Appeal for
Catholic Schools. Your donation will be retained for the students at St. Joseph School .
Next weekend’s second collection is designated for Diocesan Obligations.
CATECHETICAL SUNDAY
Catechetical Sunday (Sept. 30) offers us the opportunity to
emphasize the importance of Religious Education in the life of
every parish community. Catechetists and teachers are the
agents of evangelization. At 9:30am Mass all the religious education teachers will be recognized in the spirit of gratitude and
the whole congregation will extend to them their prayerful support. They are not only teaching but transmitting their own
faith and dedication to the Church to the next generation. May
God bless them in this special vocation.

125TH JUBILEE NOVENA
In the spirit of preparation for our Jubilee Day we began a
nine-day Novena to St. Joseph on Friday, Sept. 28 after the
6:30am Mass continuing through Saturday and Sunday. On
Monday, October 1st, the Novena to St. Joseph will take place
in the evenings during Rosary Devotions at 6:30pm.
The following are daily themes for the Novena:

will be a bi-lingual Mass at 7:00pm as an immediate preparation for this historical day. The opportunity for confession for
the entire parish will take place at 6:30pm. There will be several priests available for your convenience.
This day beautifully coincides with the 15th Anniversary of
the Consecration of our Church and Altar. All organizations
and ministries are asked to set aside these nine days for spiritual
growth, discernment and reflection.
THE MONTH OF OCTOBER-ROSARY MONTH
Rosary devotions are deeply rooted in the history of the
Catholic Church, but especially in our St. Joseph Parish heritage. The month of October is dedicated to the prayers of the
rosary. In the rosary we reflect on the mystery of life, death
and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I encourage all the faithful to
pray the rosary during the month of October by joining us for
devotions in church or at home.

FIRST FRIDAY ADORATION
First Friday adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take
place after the 7:00am Mass on October 5, 2012 and continue
throughout the day concluding at 3:00pm with the Chaplet to
the Divine Mercy followed by benediction. Adorers are asked
to attend at their scheduled time. A bi-lingual Mass will be
celebrated at 7:00pm as part of our Jubilee celebration.

living or deceased members of the Sacred Heart Society.
OCTOBER 6, 2012—125TH ANNIVERSARY
CELEBRATION
After one year of preparation, prayer, discernment, social and
cultural activities, finally this great day is at our doorstep. Next
Saturday, October 6th, we will begin our 125th Jubilee Anniversary celebration with the Liturgy at 3:30pm. Exactly at
3:30pm all six bells will joyfully ring for two minutes. Then
the joined choirs and musicians will provide musical selections
which will be transmitted through the tower speakers. The solemnity of the day will be intensified by the combined children’s choirs.
On this historical day everyone would like to take part in the
solemnity of the Liturgy. We ask our parishioners to come earlier to take their place in the church. I ask that all our parish
ministries and organizations arrive at 3:00– 3:15pm in the
school parking lot to line up for procession. The Liturgical pageant with the Bishops, Priests, Altar Servers will then proceed
onto Whitcomb Street to our Basilica. Bishop McManus is the
main celebrant, Archbishop Zimowski will preach a brief homily in Polish and Right Rev. Msgr. Moroney in English.
After the Liturgy we will continue our celebration with a banquet at the Elks Lodge, Auburn, MA. May God bless all the
parishioners, friends and guests who have joined us for this
memorable occasion.

tickets are sold out and we cannot accept any more requests. We are grateful to all who graciously responded and to
those who are unable to attend but made a donation.

ST. JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN’S CLUB
St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club is continuing their membership drive. This coincides with our Jubilee Year Celebration.
Perhaps one of our resolutions should be to strengthen the
membership of this club which provides assistance to the children of St. Joseph School and at the same time offers an opportunity for the members to share mutual friendship, participate
in cultural events and make a difference in the life of our students. Despite the anonymous life of IPhones and Facebook
people are still searching for real life and camaraderie. Installation of new members will take place at the next monthly meeting on Tues. , Oct. 9 at 7:00pm in the school cafeteria. Please

Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass will take place on
Sun., Oct. 14 at 3:00pm at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Worcester.
This special liturgy will honor couples who are marking significant anniversaries this year, as we pray in thanksgiving to God
for their many years of faithful witness to the sacredness of
Christian marriage.

Annual White Mass-to pray for all involved in Healthcare to
be held on October 18 at 7:00pm at the Cathedral of St.
Paul, Chatham and High Streets, Worcester. Following the
Mass, Dr. Ira Byock will present a keynote address on options
available to care compassionately for the dying without resorting to assisted suicide. All are welcome.
Year of Faith 2012—Youth Kick Off– will take place on
Fri., Oct. 19 from 7:00-10:00pm at St. Rose of Lima Church,
Northborough, MA with Jon Niven and Lift Ministries of the
Archdiocese of Boston. The event includes praise & worship
music, an inspiring talk and Eucharistic Adoration. This is a

GŁOSIĆ SŁOWO BOŻE
Dary Ducha są dane człowiekowi darmo, nie
według ludzkich oczekiwań, ale według Bożej
szczodrobliwości. Jozue chciał zabronić tym,
którzy prorokowali w obozie Izraelitów, mimo,
ze nie byli obecni pośród wybranych. Wtedy
jednak Mojżesz, który na co dzień wsłuchiwał się w Boże
plany stwierdza, że wspaniale byłoby, gdyby każdy mógł
posiadać Ducha Bożego i prorokować.
Psalm dziewiętnasty wychwala doskonałość Prawa Bożego,
które przynosi człowiekowi radość i przyjemność bardziej niż
najczystsze złoto i najsłodszy miód. Ponadto, Bóg daje
mądrość proroków każdemu, a zwłaszcza tym, którzy są prości
i uniżeni, nie wykluczając dzieci. To są ci "maluczcy", którzy
głoszą wspaniałość Boga.
Druga kolekta dzisiejszej niedzieli jest przeznaczona na
Fall Appeal for Catholic Schools.
Zebrane ofiary będą służyły uczniom Szkoły św. Józefa.

NIEDZIELE KATECHETYCZNA
Niedziela Katechetyczna jest wspaniałą okazja do podkreślenia
ważności Katechezy w życiu każdej wspólnocie parafialnej.
Nauczyciele i katecheci są be4zpośredni zaangażowani w
ewangelizację. Na Mszy św. o godz. 9:30 wszyscy katecheci i
nauczyciele religii w duchu wdzięczności otrzymają słowa uznania
za swoja pracę a cała wspólnota wesprze ich swoją modlitwą. Oni
nie tylko uczą, ale również przekazują następnym pokoleniom ich
własną wiarę i poświęcenie dla Kościoła.

PLANY JUBILEUSZOWE
W duchu przygotowań do Dnia Jubileuszu w piątek rozpoczęliśmy
Nowennę do św. Józefa, która będziemy kontynuować w czasie
Nabożeństw Różańcowych aż do soboty.
Piątek 5 października jest dniem wigilijnym naszych obchodów. O
godz. 19:00 zgromadzimy się na specjalnej Mszy, która będzie
odprawiona w dwóch językach. Pół godziny przed Mszą będzie
możliwość spowiedzi. W konfesjonałach będą posługiwali
zaproszeni księża.
Dzień ten zbiega się z 15 rocznicą konsekracji Kościoła i Ołtarza.
Wszystkie organizacje parafialne i posługujący w naszej parafii są
proszeni do uczestniczenia w tym dziewięciodniowym
przygotowaniu i duchowym, wspólnotowym wzrastaniu.
PIERWSZY PIĄTEK MIESIĄCA
Pierwszy Piątek Miesiąca obchodzimy siódmego września. Adoracja
Najświętszego Sakramentu rozpocznie się po porannej Mszy o godz.
7:00 i zostanie zakończona o godz. 15:00 Koronką do Miłosierdzia
Bożego. Wszystkich zapraszamy do osobistej adoracji. Wieczorem
zostanie odprawiona Msza św. po polsku. Możliwość spowiedzi przed
Mszą od godz. 18:00.
Przypomnienie: Msza św. o godz. 7:00 jest odprawiana za żywych i
zmarłych członków Sacred Heart Society. Wszystkich członków tej
Organizacji Parafialnej, jak również parafian i przyjaciół zapraszamy
do wspólnej modlitwy.
PAŹDZIERNIK MIESIĄCEM RÓŻAŃCA
Nabożeństwa Różańcowe są głęboko zakorzenione w historii
Kościoła Katolickiego, jak również w dziedzictwie Bazyliki św.
Jozefa. Miesiąc październik jest szczególnie poświęcony różańcowi,
w którym rozważamy życie, śmierć i zmartwychwstanie Jezusa.
Zachęcamy zatem wszystkich parafian do odmawiania różańca
codziennie w październiku w domach bądź wspólnie z innymi w
kościele.
Nabożeństwo Różańcowe będzie odprawiane w następujących
dniach i godzinach:
- niedziele: po Mszy św. o godz. 11:00
- poniedziałek - piątek o godz. 18:30
RELIGIA
Lekcje religii będą odbywają w każdy poniedziałek w godz. od
17:30 do 18:30 w szkole. Potrzebujemy wolontariuszy do pomocy
przy nauczaniu religii. Wszystkich zainteresowanych przyłączeniem
do grona katechetów prosimy o kontakt z kancelarią parafialną.
Zapewniamy odpowiednie przeszkolenie
Bierzmowanie - kandydaci do Bierzmowania spotykają się w każdą
druga i czwartą niedzielą miesiąca o godz. 8:30. Obecność
kandydatów jest obowiązkowa. Po spotkaniu kandydaci uczestniczą
wspólnie w Mszy św. o godz. 9:30.
HISTORIA RÓŻAŃCA
"Zdrowaś Maryjo", najważniejsza modlit-wa w różańcu, wyrosła z Ewangelii. Złożyły się na nią słowa anioła Gabriela: "Bądź pozdrowiona,
pełna łaski, Pan z Tobą" (Łk 1,28) i słowa Św. Elżbiety: "Błogosławione jesteś między niewiastami i błogosławiony owoc Twojego łona" (Łk
1,42).
We wczes-nym chrześcijaństwie często ją powtarzano. W XIII w. dodano imię Jezus, z którym Maryja związana była ściśle jako Matka. Na
przełomie XV/XVI w. dołączono prośbę: "Święta Maryjo, Matko Boża... Do wielo-krotnego powtarzania Ojcze nasz i Zdrowaś, w ciągu
średniowiecza dołączano rozważa-nie tajemnic z życia Jezusa i Maryi.
W XIV w. synody dodały Wierzę w Boga. Te trzy modlitwy traktowano jako formułę wiary, podstawowy katechizm. Długi i złożony proces
kształtowania się modlitwy różańco-wej, otrzymał swój dzisiejszy kształt na po-czątku XV w. w klasztorze kartuzów w Trewirze. Tam w
każdym Zdrowaś po Jezus do-łączano zdanie zawierające tajemnicę z ży-cia Jezusa i Maryi. Podzielono też różaniec na dziesiątki, złożone z
Ojcze nasz i 10 Zdrowaś z tajemnicami. Liczba tajemnic, opartych na Piśmie św. doszła do 150.
Pod koniec XIV w. dominikanie zredukowali ilość rozważanych tajemnic do 15, dzieląc je na 3 części: radosną, bolesną i chwalebną. W XVI
w. różaniec poprzedzono wyzna-niem wiary i po każdej dziesiątce dodano Chwała Ojcu. Po wyznaniu wiary dodano Ojcze nasz oraz 3 Zdrowaś
na uproszenie cnót Boskich: wiary, nadziei i miłości. W tej formie różaniec zatwierdził pap. św. Pius V.
Stowarzyszenie Żywego Różańca założyła Paulina M. Jaricot w 1826 r. w Lyo-nie. Składa się ono z 15-osobowych grup (obecnie 20osobowych), zwanych różami. Na czele stoi zelator. Każ-dy członek Róży odmawia codziennie jedną dziesiątkę różańca, co łącznie daje cały
różaniec.
Żywy Różaniec zatwierdził Grze-gorz XVI w 1832 r. Opiekę nad nim Pius IX w 1877 r. powierzył przełożonemu general-nemu dominikanów.
Celem Żywego Różań-ca jest propagowanie kultu Jezusa i Maryi, umacnianie wiary, leczenie nędzy moralnej, walka z szatanem, szerzenie
pokoju, naby-wanie cnót chrześcijańskich.
